Great South Bay Brewery is a newer addition to Lindenhurst's Wellwood business district in town. Owners nicely renovated the old bank location into a two floor/outdoor beer garden restaurant. Come for the tasty brewed beers, but stay for the atmosphere and the good eats on the menu. It's not just your typical bar food, but rather kicked up a knotch to include a variety of sandwiches, wrap, burgers and appetizers. I'm a fan of their seasonal brews, but today I opted for a tasty Fig Martini to pair with their Bacon Jammy Jam smash burger with fries. The Mr opted for the French Onion Soup smash burger with slaw. We came by to this brewery for a bit to eat. They have different kind of beers and alcohol. This place has a lot of history. This used to be a bank and converted into a bar/eatery. Food is great. Grabbed a bite and a pint with my siblings recently after a family event, just sitting at the bar while splitting a few apps. The service was good, bar tender did well handling the amount of people there. Place was really clean and still felt brand new even after almost a year being open. Decided to pop in here on a Saturday as I've never been to the Lindenhurst location. It was packed - there wasn't anyone at the hostess stand so I stood waiting for a while - until I found an employee to ask for a table - however when the server came over she was so sweet and bubbly the earlier fumble didn't matter - we ordered a few appetizers, I have to say they were all amazing - the server was great at giving menu suggestions and had a really great personality. The only other "con" is I saw other tables had games - when I asked the waitress, she said o you just have to ask - so if you're not a regular you're not aware to do so. It was the first time going there and it is beautiful. I want that to meet up with some friends. The server was great. The guy came and checked up on us. We were the only few people there I think it was on a Thursday afternoon, so it wasn't as busy as it probably gets. I did have some of my friends fries and that was actually really good. The one downside is, is that it does have stairs and there's no like elevator. There is a stair elevator. I guess you can call it, but it's a whole process to take it down to go onto the 'elevator' just to get on it and go. I brought my baby with me in the stroller, so it was very tough to get up there. I personally did not use the stair elevator because I don't really know how to use it and I didn't wanna go upstairs without the baby. read more

Nice place in Lindenhurst with plenty of metered parking. Location is a tad loud but nothing crazy. Theirs a nice bar, nice upstairs for events and plenty of seating otherwise. Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday with a decent sized party of 6 and was able to be sat right away. Was very excited to try the newest addition to the Lindenhurst main strip and it certainly did not disappoint. Loved the ambiance, the building used to be an old bank and there are a lot of little touches that they kept around that add a lot of local charm. Would definitely love to really explore the bar area more the next time I stop by. Seating can be a little tight, but not too bad. Service was exceptional. Our server, Amanda, was not only incredibly attentive, she was fun and really helped bring the whole experience to the top level. If I could I'd ask for her everytime! Despite being affiliated with Great South Bay Brewery, the place has a lot more to offer than just beer for drinks, but of course the beer selection is not to be slept on and updates frequently. They also offer wine, cocktails, soft drinks, and even mocktails which were all great options for our mixed party of drinkers. They might be brewery first but the food here was delicious too! For appetizers we got the pretzels, the nachos, and the Mediterranean platter to share. You might not think it, but the pita platter was actually my favorite, very fresh and different than just your typical bar food you'd expect. For the main I got the Mulberry Street Panino, which was a little messy but very delicious. Everything on the menu looked great and I'd be absolutely stoked to try all their options, and especially eager to get down there for brunch some time. Parking on wellwood in my opinion is chaos, but there are luckily a bunch of municipal lots nearby (paid and unpaid) that you can use that are far more convenient. read more

Great new brewary in lindy that features some great beer, food, and service. Came here on Saturday with some friends, and even though it was packed, we were still able to get a spot in the back by the old vault. It's a converted old bank, so it has a large open floor plan with private rooms in the back and upstairs. They have a great bar menu with some great pizzas, pretzels, and wings. It saddens me to leave such a negative review because the OG place in Bayshore is one of the best breweries around. I was with a party of 3 We are greeted by the host who was really nice. He let us know that if we wanted food we can still sit at the bar. But if we want to be seated at a table, that was okay too. Now I know why he suggested sitting at the bar. When our waitress greeted us, you could tell that she was stressed and overworked. She informed us that she had a huge table and they were being a pain with special orders. (It looked to be a table of eight younger girls and four moms.) She let us know that food may take a little while longer because the kitchen was backed up with all of their orders. Totally understandable. We gave her our drinking food order and she asked if it was okay if she brought all the food out at once. A little bit of a pain but understandable. Forgetting to bring us our drinks after having to remind her multiple times. Not understandable. Taking 30min to get your drinks. Not understandable. Taking 45min to an Hour to get all of your food. Not understandable. The staff members that brought our food out to us were very nice asking us If there was anything else we needed or they could bring us. The food was very tasty. Thanksgiving Pizza. It was really good instead of a sauce they used gravy with turkey, a mix of cheeses, stuffing, and to top it all off cranberry glaze drizzle on top. I've been a fan of GSB's beer since a group of us wandered into the Bay Shore tasting room many years ago. The building had been an aircraft warehouse and the only seating they had was a couple of old airline seats! Fast forward to today and GSB has opened a second location in Lindenhurst with a full-service kitchen and a full bar. A group of us came here for dinner because we heard the food was really good, and it didn't let us down. We were seated immediately. Our server took great care of us all night. The food lived up to its billing, my favorite being the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Tots (gluten free too!) Burgers were good and the teenager we brought devoured a giant pretzel and a pizza. This restaurant has a full bar but, being pumpkin season, we had to have a pumpkin beer with a cinnamon sugar rim. If there's any downside to this place, it's that it's noisy for dinner. We held a surprise 30th Birthday Party for my daughter at the Great South Bay Brewery in Lindenhurst on 1/31/2026. We reserved the high top area to the left of the bar and had roughly 25 guests. We planned the party with Melissa, the Manager who did a great job communicating, setting up a party menu and letting us use prepaid drinking vouchers for the guests to make everything run smoothly. The food, drink and atmosphere were excellent, and we were very pleased with the staff who were friendly and efficient while they worked to accommodate us. I'd like to consider myself somewhat of a craft beer connoisseur and I've always loved visiting Great South Bay Brewery's location in Bay Shore. This is the first time I had the opportunity to check out their Lindenhurst location and perhaps it was the wrong night to go (a Friday night) but I was a bit underwhelmed. The location is gorgeous, they renovated an old bank and did it justice, still showcasing a lot of the old bank features. The beer was solid - as always, and the food (their artisan pizzas) was perfection, but the service wasn't great. To start off with the good - their food. We ordered their Get Shorty and their seasonal Fig pizza - both were out of this world and cooked to perfection. I definitely recommend not sleeping on their pizza. Their beer is always solid, and we would have liked to have more of it, but our server was pretty much m.i.a all night. We ultimately decided to get the check (which we had to ask for a few times) and decided to grab beers some where else. A very new, modern, clean and swanky brewery/restaurant right inside the city. I tried some samples of beer and they were quite bitter for my taste. We also got the margherita pizza which was amazing. The sauce was so fresh and without any sourness. Almost every table had kids. The staff was great. I came here after an event close by at Venetian Shores. There was a lot of parking on the street and the outside of the brewery looked beautiful. I went inside and it was a big building with tall ceilings. The service was very good and enjoyed the food. Very top notch food quality and the tap beers were very good. My only issue with the brewery was that is closed so early. I was there for an hour and by 8:30 PM ish they were closing the brewery. Great South Bay brewery in Lindenhurst has a QR code on the table, you use this to order your food and no weight staff. It took us a half an hour to get 1 beer and 1 soda. And longer to get our food! All we ordered was a small pizza and a burger. We had to have the host help us multiple times and then the manager. we were with another couple who said their drinks were made badly. With cheap premade mix. Everything that we ordered was instantly charged to our card, so no way to find out how much drinks cost or if we were overcharge. Came on a Friday afternoon before it started getting busy for happy hour and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food - definitely elevated for bar food. It seems as if the Great South Bay brewery is still undecided as to whether they want to be a brewery or a restaurant. There was not a large selection of beers to choose from on the menu, and with the bartenders being busy making cocktails, it took on average at least 20 minutes to get a drink from the bar. The service is incredibly unorganized and slow. Waited over an hour for an order of pretzels and still had to remind the bartender that we were waiting for food. With that being said, the pretzels were delicious. We were also a very large party and the tables got filled with empty glasses and plates very quickly. There was no bussers which I would not normally expect at a brewery, but with the amount of food being served it would've been nice not to lean on sticky tables. If you're looking for a true brewery experience I would not recommend this establishment. read more

Ordering on line doesn't allow for customized plates and the bartenders are too few and too busy to take orders. Finally I caught one but the wait for food to table was unreasonable. Food was meh at best and not hot. Upon clearing bill at the bar I noticed two additional "taxes - taproom tax and kitchen tax. Is this a Suffolk County thing ? We have been to this location a few times. Every time was okay. NOT THIS TIME! There was 6 of us. We ordered drinks and when they finally came had to return one because it was so terrible. One of us ordered a coke and it never appeared. The food came out sporadically and one of our party got his when everyone was finished. We got no napkins, no silverware and not even ketchup. We called over the waitress she told us it was not her job, someone else was responsible for giving out silverware. She was nasty, confrontational and condescending. I have never been abused by a waitress! This woman does not belong in the service industry. When we went speak to the Manager she came running over to defend herself. He told her to leave. This place just opened. A friend and I had lunch at the bar. The beer was terrific. They've made a choice to emphasize small batch liquors and brews in the bar. Bravo! The kitchen so far seems to lack strong personality. We had the soft pretzel sticks. The beer cheese lacked punch. The mustard provided was Gulden's in a little foil squeeze pack. For lunch, I had the Captain Kidd Pirate Sando which is the fairy tale name for a deeply fried mixed seafood sandwich. McDonald's filet of fish is superior. I asked for a side ramekin of tartar sauce and received what was largely mayonnaise. My lunch mate had the short rib grill cheese. Good work here with the exception of the side sauce. It seemed like a mustard mayo mix that wanted to be horseradishy but just wasn't. So that's what I mean by a lack of personality. No gusto. When this place opened we were here 1-2x a week. We always go to the Bay shore location during the summer and this one is down the block from us so it became our regular. However it has been going down lately. They'll post specials on their socials but when we go in person the staff is unaware of it, and usually if it's a food deal by the time we get there we're told kitchen is closed after we've gone there after seeing their instagram posts in regards to the deals with the kitchen times on it. This has happened more than 3 times. Last week we waited 20 minutes to get a drink at the bar, we ended up leaving. We went again on Christmas Eve Eve, waited 20-30 mins and eventually was served. Why we stated? Honestly idk. The male bartender made great drinks and was helpful so we didn't mind much but there was a female bartender who's drinks weren't great and was very slow while the other male was busting his ass. Most of the female bartenders there are not great and always have attitudes. Why we keep going? I don't know. But there's been so many inconsistencies that we will have to find another bar after more than enough chances. read more
