I know they don't have a choice due to the inflation of everything but it makes it hard to stick around for a really long time unless my kid is very serious about it.

Everything went well throughout and their staff were easy to work with, which goes a long way when you're planning a kids' party. We rented the space for two hours. The first portion included a choice between an instructor-led ninja class or a Nerf party -- we chose the Nerf option, and it was a hit with both the birthday Ninja and our guests. After that, the kids had freestyle time to explore and play throughout the gym. One thing I really appreciated was that the gym was closed to the public during our party, so it was just our group and the instructors. Safety was the top priority, and the instructors were patient, attentive, and great at keeping everyone engaged. No one felt left out, overwhelmed, or bored. After the gym time, we moved into a private party room that we were free to decorate. The space was spotless when we arrived and already equipped with picnic tables, a food and cake table, a full-size fridge, and even backup supplies like paper towels and disposable cutlery. We didn't need the extras, but it was reassuring to know they were there. There were also no restrictions on outside food, which made planning much easier. We ate, sang happy birthday, and relaxed while the kids continued having fun. Once we wrapped up, the kids were welcome to hang out in the arcade area or head back into the gym while waiting for pickup. Cleanup was our responsibility, which felt completely reasonable and in line with most party venues. Overall, I'm so glad we chose to celebrate here. The staff was welcoming, organized, and attentive, and the experience felt like a solid value for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to come back -- either for open gym time or another celebration!

Cool lighting, walls, and ceiling. AND a staircase in the room which was awesome! We finished in under an hour (which we were kind of shocked by, because we thought we were taking a long time). Activate is a super fun, high-energy experience, but plan ahead - especially at Mall of America…read more First tip: give yourself plenty of time to find it. We arrived about 30 minutes early and still felt rushed. The mall directions led us to a first kiosk, but Activate is actually on the third floor, so that added some confusion. When we arrived, there was a fairly long line. I had pre-registered online using a gift card, but at check-in they initially said I owed the full amount. I had to ask them to locate and apply the gift card I had already purchased. Once that was sorted out, each person in our group had to sign in separately, which takes a few minutes per person. They did provide a free locker, which was great. I highly recommend putting all jackets and hoodies in there - you will get hot fast. Once signed in, the instructions are very brief, but easy enough to figure out as you go. We were a group of six and hoped to play together, but had to split into two groups. That ended up being fine because we competed against each other, which was actually fun. There are about 10 rooms, and each room offers multiple game options. Every game earns you points, and there's a large scoreboard showing rankings, which adds a fun competitive element. We went on a busy day, so we did have short waits for some games, but usually only a couple of minutes. One downside: I wish there were a water fountain inside the gaming area. You can't bring water bottles in, and while there is a fountain by the lockers, our one-hour session flew by and we barely had time to step out. Overall, we had a great time and would absolutely do it again. Tips if you go: 1. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to find it and check in. 2. Wear shorts, a T-shirt and running shoes. 3. We rented Base Camp for an over night lock in for a high school girls basketball program's team…read morebonding event. Setting it all up was so easy! They were quick and responsive and everything was all planned via email which made things so convenient! They were straightforward about what to bring for the lock in. The night of, the girls had fun! Lots of space to run and around and be teenagers. All the girls had games the next day, so they came in and all said something about the temperature, some were too hot and some were too cold. One common thing was if they just had blankets on the floor, they were cold. The other minor thing that could be improved - online waivers. I had to manage all the parent waivers. Overall, a great experience! When we went there was only rock climbing and archery available - that said they got their fill of those activities, so we probably would not do it again next year.
