I came to this location for the first time yesterday evening. I was by myself and there was only one party playing and only one employee working as far as I could tell. After not being greeted nor acknowledged after 10 minutes of waiting (10 minutes after making my presence known to the only employee in sight) That same employee told me to "Give him a couple minutes". Instead of giving him a "couple " minutes, I walked back up to him 30 MINUTES LATER and politely asked him if he forgot about me. His facial expression told me he did. He then said "Give me a few, I'll be right with you". After waiting another 5 minutes, he proceeds to tell me he has nothing available that evening but if I come back the next day, he will give me 10% off This was my first and last time going there. So unprofessional. I'm not going back so if anyone has any recommendations for a VR Game spot, please let me know. Im in Dallas. read more

The Virtual Reality experience was solid. The front desk experience was a lil bumpy. The young lady at the door greeted us "did you make a reservation." Not hello or welcome to Sandbox; simply, "did you make a reservation." We were told to return nearly an hour later, at 2:45, as they were not taking walk-ins at the current time. When we checked online for availability, there was a show available in. 20 mins. We registered and paid $100 for two people. She held the iPad while I completed the registration and payment. It was not the smoothest experience, but I'll chalk it up to "just open jitters." Putting on the gear was pretty simple, though our guide, Cesar, spoke too softly and quickly to be understood. (I made due by watching the others in my party.) The order of suiting up seemed not well thought out. First we put sensors around our feet and hands. (Each sensor had 3-5 protrusions sticking out from the base.) It got kinda clumsy when putting on the vest: the sides of the vest kept catching the ends of the sensors. (Same thing happened when we left.) It might have been the best option, considering all of the gear, but it felt like we could put the vest on second and then the hand sensors third. We were told multiple times, leave the experience, no restarts, no returning, no refunds. We were also told it would last 45 minutes. That time frame might have included suiting up, instructions, and removing the equipment, as the VR experience was about 20 mins. Once inside the theater, we continued with the low and fast talking. Even hearing my partner during the game was difficult, though it could have been the position of his microphone. The VR experience was worth going through the jittery process, though for 20 mins at $50 a pop, I am not sure this place makes my "top of list" the next time I am planning a day out. The video is kinda cool: about 90 seconds of you and your party in various points of the game. A nice memento, and I imagine, a solid marketing tool for them. read more

grandmother bought tickets for 2 locations, was a mistake they refused refund had to call several times to finally get a refund for the wrong location - equipment didnt work right, game kept crashing, weapons didnt work right, 2 visits 2 different games - both trailers were wrong party and second time was wrong pictures and names mixed up - 1st time there they put us in the wrong game that we didnt want to play but then expected us to pay to come back to play the correct game ! this review go on for a bit but save your money - we walked away with more questions and anger then we should have for 2 visits and the amount of money being charged for this - read more

Family of 4 went the 3rd day that Sandbox VR was open in Dallas. Lots of fun playing Deadwood Mansion. Originally reserved Deadwood Valley but it wasn't working due to technical problems. The team and individual names you choose will be featured in the recap video and results. You will also need to select your weapon (submachine gun, assault rifle, double pistols, shotgun, etc...). In our session, the player with the shotgun won MVP but no idea if that was due to weapon or player or combo of both. I am not a gamer (obviously) and thought you had to blast the zombies to red dust, but I was by far the lowest scorer so don't do that. read more
