Great spot for some solid, unique sandwiches! We tried the Bugogi and the KFC, and they were both a hit. I'd skip on the gyozas, they were just okay. Gentleman at the cash register was very kind and friendly. Smaller spot with about 8-10 tables.

I love sando street's rice bowls! It's a great lunch takeout spot. The fried chicken is always super fresh and crispy. My recent favorite is the kfc curry rice bowl. Don't worry the kfc stands for ''korean fried chicken" and is way better than the other KFC. The curry sauce is flavorful and the rice is cooked perfectly. I love that they have mountain dew Baja Blast in cans here. I always put my order in online and it's ready in like 10 minutes. The staff are always friendly when I come by and there are seats if you want to dine in, just note there's no bathroom. I like the hip hop aesthetic and that they play old school hip hop and rnb music from the 2000s.

This is a pretty small spot, so it's probably better for takeout, but we got lucky and snagged a table. Food came out quickly, about 15 minutes, which was a nice plus. We ordered the KFC sandwich, tonkatsu curry bowl, and the matcha strawberry sando. Hands down, the matcha strawberry sando was my favorite. The cream was light and not overly sweet, with just enough matcha flavor. The strawberry was nicely sweet, and the bread was super soft. Really well done. The KFC sandwich was my second favorite. The flavor was solid and the chicken was juicy, though I wish the breading had been crispier. The pickled cucumbers were a nice touch and helped cut through the heaviness. The sweet potato chips that come with it could use more seasoning. Unfortunately, the tonkatsu curry bowl was a miss for me. The pork cutlet was very thin, dry, and lacked seasoning. The curry itself was just okay but could use more spice, and the rice was a bit mushy.

We finally made it over to Sando Street after many months of driving past it! Our small group ordered a variety of appetizers, sandos, 1 rice bowl and the creme sandos. For the appetizers we had gyozas and popcorn chicken. Both were freshly cooked and hit the spot. Next up we have the spam and bulgogi sandos which were tasty and filling alongside the sweet potato chips. The katsu curry rice bowl also hit the spot and my daughter was full halfway thru. Last but not least we had the ube creme sandwhich. The strawberries were a perfect complement to the ube creme. Everything was delicious. We had a slight wait time but also had a large group of +5 in front of us. Our food was made to order so we appreciate the wait time with our food being hot. We will definitely be back again to try more of the menu!

Absolutely loved the sandos at Sando Street. I came in only for the ube sando but ended up trying the Crispy Eggplant Sando as well and it did not disappoint. The flavours are really yum, dripping with a very tasty sauce, well cooked eggplant and some nice Japanese sweet potato chips on the side! We also got the matcha strawberry latte and the cafe lemon tree mocha! Perfect drinks to go along with the food. The strawberries in the ube sando were so fresh!! And the creme was smooooth.

Sando Street has been on my list for a while, so I was so excited to give them a try on a Tuesday afternoon! We came around 1pm, and the store had a few other customers but no wait. The service was very quick--we got our orders shortly after ordering. In terms of the environment, there are a few tables, but the space is generally on the smaller side. It's definitely a casual vibe. We ordered the KFC Sando and Ube Cream Sando. I really enjoyed the KFC Sando; it was incredibly flavorful, and the texture of the fried chicken was so nice against the soft, pillowy bread. The chips that it came with were pretty forgettable, but the sandwich itself was delicious. The Ube Cream Sando was just okay. The ratio of cream to fruit was off, and the ube cream just became too much after some bites. Overall, it was nice to try them! I would be interested in trying their other savory menu items for sure.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was nice. This place is kept clean and after we ordered the food came out pretty quick. We got their tonkatsu with the Japanese curry dip and the musbi spam sando which was good. The dessert Sandi's was good but I would say the bread is a little dry and not fresh. It would have been good if it was fresh. Overall the place and cashier person was pretty nice.

I made the mistake of waiting 1-year of living walking distance to Sando Street to try it. The KFC Sando was incredible. Actually so full of flavor and the crispy. It had a wonderful glaze over the chicken and had the perfect amount of kick cooled by the cucumber and slaw. The Matcha Crème dessert was delicious but definitely enough to share with someone. I was worried it wouldn't be enough food, and I was pleasantly surprised with how full I was after. It was the perfect sized Sandwhich and meal. The vibe inside is calm, cool, and authentic. The staff, incredibly nice. He answered my questions, checked in on me and everyone else, was easy going. I will most definitely be back and I would recommend anyone try this place if you haven't. This is the type of place I could see showing up on the Michelin Guide.

I've been wanting to check this place out and see if it lived up to the hype and it didn't disappoint! I went with the Crispy Eggplant Sando, the KFC Sando and a dessert Sando to top it off! Just a simple sit down joint..just chill. The guys at the counter were friendly and took their time to answer all of my questions I had. Crispy Eggplant was a no brainer 10/10. The KFC was just a tad over sauced imo but still 10/10 worthy and the Ube Cream Strawberry Sando was a solid 8/10. They offer more than just Sando's too which is nice! And keep in mind I had all these Sandos as take out and they were even still great the next day!! I definitely can't wait to go back and dine in! New comfort place for me. I am don't overlook their Sweet potato chips...incredible!

Service was amazing and the inside has a lot of seating which from other reviews it didn't seem like it but definitely enough seating for a few groups of people to dine in. If you're expecting an egg Sando like the ones in Japan it's not close but that's because it's seasoned pretty heavy which isn't a bad thing! I also tried the chicken sando and got the ube strawberry sando. The chicken sando was good but the ube sando takes the cake! It was the best out of the 3 sandos I got but give them all a try read more

I'm so glad that there's finally a sando shop in Chicago. I tried the OG Tamago and I love the furikake they add on top. We also got the Bulgogi sando, sorry no photos of that one cuz I ate it too fast. Last but not least, I tried the ube fruit sando. The ube whipped cream compliments the strawberries so well. I will definitely be back to try everything on the menu. Parking was the only issue but hey it's the city, so plan accordingly. read more

Ordered pick up from here a few weeks ago and it was delicious! Really took me back to my trip to Japan where I had the most amazing egg sandwiches' of my life. ORDER AHEAD and hope it's worth the wait but unlikely. It takes anywhere from 20 to 60mins for your order to be ASSEMBLED. The beef and chicken are cold so you know its made ahead of time. Food: It's Okay. Chips were the best part of my lunch! I ordered the KFC, Korean Beef Bulgogi and Matcha Ube strawberry Sando. If I'm to be honest it's just sandwiches, so $15 per and 45 mins wait...not sure I'd want to go back. Husband brought home a few orders of the ube and matcha strawberry cream sandos which were absolutely delicious! The Japanese bread was soft and yummy! The crème was not too sweet and had a good hint of the matcha and ube flavor, which was just right in taste. The bulgogi beef was an absolute fave in our household and wished we got a few more orders. The side of Japanese sweet potato chips had a hint of salt that was a nice touch with the bulgogi beef sando. So glad that they opened up a restaurant like this, because we don't really have any Japanese/Korean sandwich restaurants in Chicago. Will definitely be coming back for more! read more

We were really excited to try this new spot, and we were not disappointed. We actually got every sandwich because we wanted to try everything. Highlights include the KFC Sando. It has such incredible flavor, and the dressings that they put on top are perfect. We also got the Ube Sando, which was light fluffy and not too sweet. We went when they first opened so there was no wait. Perhaps it's gotten popular and the weight is longer now? I guess that's what you should expect as a restaurant becomes popular. this place was really good! great spot, really nice seating area inside and by the window, and the staff is really friendly. we tried the tamago sando and matcha strawberry one. i loved the tamago one, theres a nice hint of garlic in it and the seaweed they sprinkle on top is a really nice touch. not sweet like what i expected (and feared) it would be. the bread is soft and nice as well. im not a huge fan of matcha, but the strawberry one was pretty good i think! my sister liked it a bit more than me, but again its really just preferences. now the thing that absolutely takes the cake is the sweet potato chips. yes it was a complimentary side with the tamago sando, but wow were they so good! such a nice crisp with a flavor you cant get enough of. i had to buy a side to take home, but ended up eating them on the way! read more

Amazing!! I split an order with some coworkers and everything we had was DELICIOUS. I got the OG Tamago and it was everything I wanted from an egg sandwich. The eggs were the perfect texture and the bread was light and fluffy. I also loved the side chips that came with the order, which were really yummy and super useful for scooping up extra egg filling (also a plus to the sandwich, they definitely did not skimp on the fillings!). They were crispy and perfectly salted. We also split the ube and matcha dessert sandos and those were wonderful. The cream on this was perfectly flavored and paired well with the strawberries; both the cream and fruit were super fresh. Overall, I really loved everything we got from here and can't wait to get more. The food is amazing and you can tell that the people running it really care about what they're doing. Looking forward to my next Sando Street order!! read more

The dessert sandos are really good. I had the matcha cream and it was amazing. The cream itself is subtly sweet and comes with strawberries, so you can finish the sando without the sugar crash. I could eat a bucket of that matcha cream and be happy. I also had the chips which are also really good. They are the perfect amount of salted, they don't feel oily, and they've got a pretty solid crunch. I'm eyeing the pork belly one the next time I order. read more

Korean and Japanese street food flavors in the form of Japanese sandos and rice bowls. Sandos are served with Shokupan, which is Japanese milk bread. We offer Texas Toast to replace the Shokupan as a vegan option. Sando Street is a family-owned restaurant as two cousins come together with over 3 decades of restaurant and kitchen experience combined. We have more traditional sandos such as the OG Tamago and Tonkatsu, but we also offer innovative flavors that marry Korean and Japanese flavors to give you a more elevated food experience!

Was at Taste of Randolph with a big group of friends and had to sneak off for a solo mission to get Okonomiyaki! A taste and quality I never thought I would be able to get back home. Sweet, Savory, Umami, all the flavors that make them so addictive. I can't wait to return and bring friends. The Osaka style beef and traditional Hiroshima style yaki saved the meal enough to enjoy ourselves though, and were very flavorful. The restaurant itself is tucked right behind Morgan station but is so much bigger inside. The furniture and even dishware also felt like they were picked very intentionally to complement the grilling plates. The layout of the restaurant means it can be great for really any kind of occasion or group size.

If you need to hide the ingredients under excessive sauce, spice, cilantro, oil, bacon, or sweetness, the only explanation is that the ingredients are not good enough on their own. I will not be coming back. Not even for free. Sorry. PS. Why so much bread on each dish? So much buttery horrible bread that you will trash, because it's impossible to eat all of it.
