Don't bring your business to this establishment! You know those body shops who are super nice to you when you first walk in and then the moment one thing goes wrong customer service goes out the window. That was my experience with the Customer Service Manager, Collin O' Brien--he should really find a new job because I actually received a professional threat from him so not sure why he would chose customer service as his profession! He also has this position at Tustin Body Works and C&W Paint and Body--so heads up. Long story short, I was sent here because someone hit my parked car--just some paint removed-he had Mercury insurance. Went in and Collin and the front office seemed very pleasant..told me he couldn't really estimate the paint job cuz they'd have to do a full assessment for the correct estimate. I assumed this was my only option to get a quote. I proceeded to sign a bunch of papers. I was later given a call with the actual full estimate and he was calling for permission to proceed--I said I preferred to take my car to a body shop I am more familiar with. He said one of the papers I signed stated I would have to pay $120. Truthfully, I sign things without reading all the pages. But I have the paper in front of me now it says its $120 for "Tear down and Inspect Vehicle for damage and prepare estimate" in lamens terms they charged me for a full quote. I told him if I had signed I would pay but I disagreed with it. Collin said they had to charge me for "tearing down" my car--I got really upset b/c my bumper had some paint rubbed off and I didn't feel it was necessary to take off anything besides my bumper. He said it was because the mechanics of the car could be affected (these were lies as you will read later). And here's the professional threat-- Collin (very rude /threatening voice): We need time to "put your car back together" so we have to make an appointment if you want to pick it up. Andddd I want to tell you in advance that don't know if we can put your bumper back on. Like really!??? You have an arsenal of professional body shop workers, your customer service manager of 3 shops and you can't even give me my car the way I gave it to you! The way he said it was a professional threat--I really couldn't sleep that night and kept thinking he would probably just give me my car with the bumper detached or do something harmful to my car--that's how the conversation ended--I said goodbye and he hung up!! How is he Customer Service Manager??? I came to the shop with my Dad the next morning. Fortunately, I was greeted by 2 nice people who I believe he had out to null the situation. He walked past me once looked angry, didn't make eye contact, and gave my keys to someone else opposed to hand it to me--basically 11 year old behavior. He was lucky I didn't feel disrespected again in-person because I was entirely prepared to contact his real boss, the Bureau, and Mercury insurance about this establishment (In fact, if this review is removed--these are still valid options I would do). I ended up asking the front why they had to "tear down" my car because it wasn't warranted..they said it was just "car lingo" and they had only removed my bumper (hence, not what Collin said)--this made me feel a lot better. I can only assume Collin stated otherwise so that I would feel the $120 is warranted-but having someone who is disrespectful and dislikes me piecing my car back together is worrisome because I do not trust him. Also, I gave my car to a body shop before who removed my bumper in front of me in less than 10 min and didn't charge me but whatever--I paid and didn't complain one bit because it just wasn't worth a headache. I gave my car to a different repair shop who charged me 1/3 the price!! Yes 1/3 the price; my car looks wonderful. I'm about to start my new chapter in school to become a Doctor, and I learned an important lesson in terms of how to treat my future patients--which is everything Collin did not do in this situation. Hopefully, the money they took from me was worth it for them. If even one person reads this and delves away from this establishment that will be enough for me. read more

I've got to say, I was hesitant to bring my car here after reading some of these reviews. I'm soooooo glad I did. Their customer service was top notch. Tayna(?) called me to let me know they had received the paperwork from Mercury before I even took my car in. I decided to take it in the next day and they have a deal with Enterprise for car rental I was indecisive about renting a car. So she informed me I could decided when ever I wanted and they would make they arrangements for me at a rate of $20 a day. I searched around and found that I couldn't find a better rate(insurance company's were still processing who's fault. And I was concerned I would be stuck with the bill.) So I called Tanya and everything was smooth sailing for the car rental. The first day they had my car I received a phone call,Chris(?), quoting me the $$$ damage. Two days later Chris called again to let me know they were in the process of repairing my car. A few days after that I got a call letting me know my car was now being painted. The next day I was informed my Mirror would be here the following day and installed and that my car should be ready the following day. Then I got the phone call letting me know my car was done and being washed. I was really concerned about the paint. My husband had told me silver is a hard color to match. There was no need to worry. Plus while we were looking at the work I commented in passing about an old nick. Chris says, wait here I might be able to get you an extra bottle of touch up paint. So we left absolutely happy and with a spare bottle of touch up of for the grocery cart dings :-) read more

Unfortunately I had a bad experience at Sandpiper. I got rear ended in my new car. Mercury Insurance recommended Sandpiper, so I took it there for repairs. I had damage to my rear bumper and trunk from the accident. SandPiper, or its management, picks and chooses what they want to repair on your car. A week later, they call me refusing to fix my trunk.. Call my Mercury agent, she calls Sandpiper and tells them to fix it. She mentioned she got a hard time from them, even though Mercury is paying for all repairs. They fix it. Then I found out that they didn't want to replace another part. The manager, unprofessional, argued with me and refused to replace the piece, so I called my agent again to deal with it. Luckily she had more patience than I. They call me when it's done, I go to pick it up, my car looks like crap. The fenders and bumpers didn't line up and they forgot to replace a few rubber weather seals between the new body pieces. In addition, the car was having "new" electrical problems. The manager agreed to repair the outside, but said they would charge me $200 something to take it to Toyota for the electrical diagnostics, and if it wasn't from the accident, they would charge me. Intimidating me so that they wouldn't have to fix my car. I told them to take my car back and fix it or I'd call my agent a third time, they took it back. They call me when it's done and dropped my car off at my work. In all honesty, the car looked 90% back to normal. Over it, I just took my car. It wasn't worth the hassle dealing with them any longer. read more

These guys are the best! I had an accident where the front end of my Jeep was completely smashed in, and they repaired it. My insurance gave them a month to repair it, but they worked so hard to make sure I got it back well before the deadline. When I got it back, I noticed that it pulled a little to the right. They not only took care of it, but dropped it off at my house so I didn't have to be troubled with getting a ride back to their shop! Collin was on top of it every step of the way. All of the staff is so polite and friendly! Every time I called the shop, the receptionist even called me "dear"! It feels like a real mom & pop shop, but they handle business for sure! I hit a possum in my Challenger SRT8 in December and it tore off a 6 inch chunk of the splitter/chin spoiler, cracked the front fascia and put stress cracks in the fender. Mercury directed me over to SandPiper and after looking at the car they gave me an estimate of 7 days for completion of repairs. I was kept up to date on the progress of the repairs via daily phone calls and they finished the work in 7 days as promised. The repairs were well lined up and look to have been done expertly, the paint however on the front fascia (especially around the fog lights) was poorly done and has numerous pieces of debris under the paint. The stripe guy they used lined things up fairly well, my only gripes are the lowest piece of one of the strips is slightly skewed and the top pieces still has some slightly bubbling towards the edges. (I was told the bubbling would go away when they dried out) All in all a good experience, would have been 5 stars but as with many things in life the devil is in the details. read more

Worst place ever they offer a Warenty that they do not back up at all and the manager there is so rude. He spoke down to my father and my father simply asked questions. We have been very pleased with 2 repairs made by Sandpiper over the last couple of months. They repaired and painted the rear bumper of our Lexus SC 430 after we were rear ended. This car is a "keeper" and we were very upset when it was hit. So glad It looked like new when repaired. Today we picked up our 2017 red prius from Sandpiper. They repaired major scratches on the side of the front Bumper after it was hit in a parking lot. You have no one to be mad at but yourself for being uninformed, but sounds like it's everyone else's fault except your own... Lol go figure I took my BMW to these guys after my car was hit while in my company's parking lot. They did an exceptional, timely job and my car looks outstanding. They were very honest and exercised more than satisfactory customer service. I took some damage on the freeway from a tire and it cracked my front bumper. I decided to buy a new bumper, have it painted and put it on myself. I took it in to Sandpiper Collision and they gave me a great price and the paint job was amazing. Matched the color dead on. Had a bad experience here a few years back...Probably about 5 years ago now, I'm a procrasinator :) So I was hit by an elderly woman in my Honda Civic and my insurance recommended this place. They seemed to do a great job on the cosmetic issue but had to replace the rear glass for some reason. My first issue was that they claimed to have shattered the original glass so billed the insurace for a new rear window. (Seemed a bit shady but not out of my pocket, and it COULD happen, I guess.) Next I realized that bc the antenae was inside the rear window, and SANDPIPER HAD NOT CONNECTED IT PROPERLY that my RADIO HAD NO RECEPTION. I contacted them and they asked me to bring it in again, but it was already such a hassle to do the repairs the first time and I was not looking forward to having to leave my car again for several days. Anyway, I waited a long time before finally bringing it in, maybe a year or so. When I did the guy said he would try to fix the antenae but that it was broken when they installed it and bc I waited so long he would not do the whole job over. So essentially I have a crappy radio bc of Sandpiper's poor repair job, and I will admit, some of my own procrastination. But seriously, where's the customer service. It sucks to have to bring your car in and they could have shown a tad more understanding and just done the job right the SECOND time since THEY DID NOT DO IT RIGHT the first time. As if I went back there, took out the rear window and then put it back with the radio disconnected or something... My advice is inspect everything and if you notice something wrong. BRING IT BACK IMMEDIATELY. If they give you a hard time contact your insurance. I did this but bc I waited so long my insurance was unable to help. OR just GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT DOES THE JOB RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!! read more

I paid more than i agreed upon and coincidence or not, 2 weeks after my car was fixed my transmission went out when I have never had an issue before. So I ended up paying over 2000 dollars to have my car painted and minor fixes and then I had to scrap my car for 600 dollars. Such a huge dissapointment. read more

I had the true pleasure of meeting Sandpiper Collision. South Coast Toyota recommended Sandpiper to me in Costa Mesa. Why I needed Sand Piper: I hit a high curb as I exited a Starbuck's parking lot in a rush. The impact caused a piece of my rear tire molding to bulge out/become unfastened from car body. I called SP first, drove up and the receptionist and then the Manager immediately greeted me. (The receptionist was also helpful over the phone giving me directions that went beyond my phone navi). The Mgr. looked at my car. Told me to wait in waiting room. In less than 10-15 minutes, their repair person repaired the hanging piece. It looked like new, no damage. Then, the manager says, no charge! He said it was an easy thing to fix (not from my perspective) and to not worry. He was straight-forward, honest and kind. For any body shop work you have, big or small, please consider these guys. Their service was unheard of these days. They are not going to nickel & dime you. They are transparent! I will go to them in the future for bigger jobs. They must know that their act of generosity on the small stuff makes good business in the long run. I loved their customer service. This shop is so amazing. It's been a few months since ive been here but they were so honest and helpful with my car. I always feel like auto shops try and rip off and scam women but I definitely didn't feel like that here. The whole staff was so sweet and supportive(I totaled my car and had a meltdown in their office) and everyone was super encouraging that everything was going to be okay.
