This is the best coffee shop around. It's just north of Main Street Dunedin and is my favorite place to get some work done or just grab coffee and lunch/breakfast. The coffee is good, I'm partial to the iced coffee for a hot day on the so so cute patio. The food is also good, particularly the Topical Turkey sandwich my favorite. Was looking for a nice place for breakfast in Dunedin and had much hope for sandpiper but it appeared to not be a good day for that. The food took a significant amount of time to arrive considering what it was, and we waited quite some time for service. The food when it did arrive was dry and could have used some more flavor. The place did have a good atmosphere but was hoping for more. Maybe they were understaffed that day. It could be that the food was just over done, but after waiting 40+ minutes in a place that was maybe half full, it wasn't worth spending another 40 minutes to send the food back. Am hoping this was a one off as I love supporting local restaurants. read more

Love this spot as a destination for our Sunday walks. They have great coffee ranging from really decadent (Nutella latte) to the normal iced coffee. I think I have always gotten the Cuban breakfast sandwich because for me it is the perfect, simple breakfast. My husband switches and up every time but recommends the breakfast quesadilla. read more

Some friends and I popped in here to escape the rain during an arts festival and we were pleasantly surprised by our finding! Two of us got breakfast and one got lunch; everything was delicious! We ate inside because of the rain and really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the friendly staff. It was a wonderful, relaxing visit that we all really enjoyed. We also purchased a few must-have items from the gift shop, which was very affordable and not overpriced. We will DEFINITELY return next time we're in the area. We waited easily 50 minutes for 2 egg sandwiches on croissants. When the food came out it was one tiny fried egg on a large croissant. I really wanted to like this place but I cannot believe we just waited so long for those sandwiches. People that got there 10-20 minutes after us got their food before us so maybe the long wait was just a fluke but the sandwich I just had was not worth $7. read more

Great omelette (and I am super picky about my eggs), my baby scarfed the blueberry muffin, and delicious house-roasted coffee. We sat outside in the warm morning son and my kid chased lizards. This building has been many things over the years, but none had ever appealed to me until Sandpiper Cafe. For the last couple of months, I've been trying to work my way through the menu but I keep getting stuck on the Tropical Turkey sandwich. It's so tasty, I'm actually craving one right now! For breakfast, I can't get past the amazing breakfast quesadilla. It's a large portion for a great price and keeps me going through the busiest of days. Recently, I've needed a quiet place to work and David & Karen went out of their way to make me comfortable. Since finding this treasure, I've relied on them for many healthy meals. Affordable delicious food, a variety of beer, wine and coffee, and excellent, personal service will keep me coming back over & over. read more

I came in on the Sunday of the Dunedin arts festival. Wait, let me back up. I came in on the Saturday of the arts festival and no one even acknowledged mine or my wife's existence. So, we left. Back to the story... We came in again on the Sunday because I was craving a sandwich and they were the closest place with one. Again, no one acknowledged us, until we asked the young lady at the cash register if you seat yourselves. She said yes, so we did, and that's where the waiting began. We waited a long time, finally getting service. We ordered our drinks and sat outside where the radio was playing. Well, 15 minutes later, she came out and told us our food would "be a minute still". So, we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Just as we were about to get up and leave, my sandwich arrived! There's was an old guy playing the guitar outside to some old school tracks thru the speaker. It went on, and on, and on... We (and the lady beside us) felt like we were locked in an elevator and couldn't get off! The guy was HORRIBLE, and the service was just as bad. I would have left a lot earlier but I ordered a glass of milk as my drink (wanted it with my sandwich, but I digress) and I couldn't leave wo paying for it. The simple fix is to pay and leave, but you couldn't even get them to bring your check, or ring you up. We were "stuck" there (literally) for about an hour. An hour of our lives we can never get back.... The sandwich was good, so it wasn't a total waste. These guys either need to get more help, or pay attention to their customers or it is going to sink like the Titanic. The sandwich quality is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. I would avoid this place at all costs on the weekends. They apparently cannot handle the load! read more

Service was terrible but food was delicious. Walked in and asked to sit outside-was told pick any seat and menus will be brought. Couple sits down next to us and gets served immediately without even going in. Had to go back inside and pick up menus so when server finally did show up we were ready to order. Water never refilled, never checked on during brunch. Then waited a good 10 minutes to get the bill so had to walk in to pay. Place wasn't even that busy. You won't be disappointed with the food, just the service...Won't be back. read more

Stopped in for an iced coffee and was pleasantly surprised! It was very good! I would only recommend they begin serving it in nicer cups... Currently the iced coffee comes in those red plastic cups that you typically drink soda from... Kind of a bummer ... Should also consider adding a grilled chicken salad to the menu! :) read more

I've only had their freshly roasted coffee, but its as good as coffee gets. Its pricey coffee, not Dunkin Donuts, but its worth it.

Went back again to give it another shot, and again we were ignored. We left without ordering and won't be back.

We stopped in today during brunch. The inside and outside is very nice. I love a good Cuban so that is what I ordered. The Cuban was amazing. Full of flavor and very well crafted. My fiancé had the egg and bacon breakfast sandwich on very delicious croissant. We will most definitely be back very soon and plan to spread the word. Check this place out! read more

Love, love,love this place. The food was great...I had an egg, bacon and cheese sandwich. The outside space was a haven. I sat out there for about 1.5 hours without feeling like I was taking up space ( it was quiet, but still). The waitress was friendly and attentive. She came out and offered a refill on my iced coffee. I told her I loved it and could spend all day there and she welcomed me to do so. I wish I didn't have to move on that day. Very cute. My mom and I went in and were able to relax and read. The couple who own this place are sweet and helpful. They make you feel like the place is your home. Lots of locals stoping by. My mom got a coffee and it was super smooth and full bodied flavor. She also got the turkey sandwich which was definitely worth the money. I got the eggs Benedict which tasted as good as they looked. Really cool little cafe. Awesome decor and full of eclectic and cool things to buy. Owners were great and service was top notch. Menu is simple but lots of good choices. Had to try there sandpiper special. Eggplant with roasted peppers and mozzarella on wheat bread. Side of Cole slaw. Excellent choice! Eggplant was tender and perfectly cooked. Yummy lunch choice!
