Deli turkey sandwich with a cup of red pepper Gouda soup

I heard about a delicious coconut pie offered at Sandra's place and had to try it! I took a quick glance at their website and decided this would be a great spot for lunch, too- I was right! A chalkboard menu has all items listed plus specials of the day and soup of the day. There is a pick 2 option for soup or salad with a half cold sandwich. I chose Reuben and my partner chose the club sandwich. My Reuben was so delicious! Good quality corned beef, a generous portion of sauerkraut and dressing sandwiched between two perfectly grilled pieces of marbled rye bread. I had a bite of my partner's club sandwich which was also delicious. Good quality bread, thick sliced tomatoes that were juicy, crispy lettuce, a meaty piece of bacon, and turkey. There may have been a bit too much Mayo on this sandwich, but I would still get it again and just say go easy on the mayonnaise. The sandwiches were served with kettle cooked chips. And finally to get to the pie- it was as good as I had heard. I chose the thickest slice I could. It was moist, coconutty and topped with a delicious coconutty frosting. Will definitely be back to try out some other options.

    Tomato soup and fruit

Sandras had good food, but nothing out of the ordinary. The chicken salad was tasty, but needed salt and pepper. The tomato soup was very thick and tomato-y. The fruit is mostly canned, but there was a nice variety. I would come back for a quick bite if in the area.

Good food, good people, nice atmosphere. The harvest Salad is very refreshing and they always have a couple of soups of the day. They make cakes as well. If you like sweet tea.... This is the place to go. Very quaint

Great little restaurant off the main highway, downtown. Charming shops, etc. The Reuben was great! Hope there's room for pie.

We had the chicken fried steak breakfast with eggs and a biscuit and the biscuits and gravy plate that came with eggs your way and grits. The gravy has bits of sausage patty. We left full! The coffee was hot and kept coming. The service was excellent. We would make the detour when traveling on I-10 to visit here again...until then we will dream of chicken fried steak and biscuits.

But how in the world did we miss Julwin's before? I mean, we truly missed out on this little jewel of a place! Now, I can handle just about anything from Waffle House to Another Broken Egg, but listen, quit scrolling, and head over to Julwin's Restaurant. From the coffee to the biscuit and everything in between, you can tell that those folks in the back know how to cook breakfast. My wife ordered the Western omelet, and opted for the Spinach. I know we didn't take three sips of coffee before our food came out piping hot and fresh off the griddle! The eggs were perfect as were the hash browns. I like my biscuit as dessert, and I'm happy to say I was not disappointed. Guys, we'll be back. There's no question Julian is on our must see list on our next trip to Fairhope.

This is the ONLY spot out of the legion I've been to in Alabama that actually serves what folks from Louisiana would call gumbo and I was so happy to finally be able to enjoy a good actual gumbo instead of the icky Alabama soup all the other places serve. The ambiance here is really fantastic and they have a beautiful bar here as well. They make some of the best burgers I've ever had and I've had a LOT of great burgers along with way too many blah one. They have an amazing selection of beautiful desserts that make it VERY hard to choose which one you need to order. I've eaten at a LOT of spots in Lower Alabama and so far this one is at the top of the list.

The piña colada was delicious, and they brought me a blueberry crème brûlée for my birthday that was amazing. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals, and everything was beautifully presented. The only downside was the host. He came across as extremely rude and impatient, which was not a great first impression. Thankfully, the rest of the experience was much better. Overall, the food was excellent, and I'd eat there again. Just hoping for a friendlier welcome next time.
