My daughter has been telling me for months I need to try Sandwich Planet and she was so right!! If you haven't been yet, I highly encourage it. The restaurant is inside Cowboy Stop but I would go on a date night. The hummus was wonderful, with a delicious olive oil drizzle and a green sauce. Neeed a late lunch and pulled into the Cowboy Stop station to top off tank. Saw the name on the door and chatted with the owner outside. Parked and went in. Small location with a few eat-in tables (sadly I had to get mine to go). Ordered the gyro. Owner comped me the hummus and fried up the pita chips as I waited. Gyro was $13.99 + tax. Affordable for the quality and quantity of the meal. The smell drove me crazy til I got to my office to eat. Amazing the lamb gyro meat melted in my mouth. Best I've had in Stillwater. Hummus was smooth and top dressed with olive oil. Then I find a baklava sample in the box with the condiments in a 2oz sauce cup. That was a nice suprise. This is a hidden gem with a very simple menu and they do it quite well. I will be back. They take cash and credit cards. I noted that the menu also had schwarma. Our new favorite place in Stillwater! Great authentic Mediterranean food. The owner was so nice and helpful. We started out with creamy flavorful hummus with falafel. It was lightly topped with a lemon, garlic and jalepeno sauce. The pita chips were so good. I had a gyro wrap-perfect flavor. My husband had the gyro sandwich-it was twice as big. My friend had the chicken shawarma-we tasted it and loved it. Then we all had baklava for dessert. The best! Can't wait to go back. read more

I found Sandwich Planet to be exactly as described in every 5-star review posted on Google. This is a one-man operation, the food is made fresh, so be patient. You will be well rewarded. If you have the time, dine in the small dining room. It only has 4 tables. And if you are really lucky you will get a chance to meet the owner and have a conversation. He is extremely friendly, outgoing, hospitable and an interesting person to talk to. For us the Falafel Sandwich and a Shawarma Chicken. Both of these are served as hot wraps and came with fries. While these were cooking the owner brough us two cups of Lentil soup with hot, fresh fried pita chips to try. I have not been a fan of lintel soup. This was excellent. Not a drop left in my cup. The seasoning made the difference. The sandwiches arrived and with them a complimentary hummus dip. Very good dip. We finished off the chips with it. And then before we had finished our sandwiches, two samples of fabulous Baklava arrive! A simple lunch turned into a 5-course meal, thanks to the owner. Sandwich Planet does not look like much. It is tucked inside a seedy looking gas station called Cowboy Mart, the kind of place most people would pass without a second glance. That would be a mistake. I have spent time in Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco, and I can say with confidence that this food holds its own. Ive been there three times now and I ordered the gyro, the shawarma, and the kebab. Every bite was packed with flavor. Each time, the meat was tender, the spices were right, and the portions were more than fair. It reminded me of meals I have had in back alley cafés in Cairo and street vendors in Amman. What really sets it apart, though, is the owner. He could not have been more generous. Free hummus and fresh bread came out before I even asked. At the end of the meal, he brought out dessert on the house. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it felt real. Stillwater is lucky to have a place like this. Ignore the gas station. Go for the food. You will be glad you did. read more

The complimentary hummus and falafel provided by the owner while we waited was OUTSTANDING. Truly, the hummus was so smooth and the falafel were crispy and flavorful. Everything else was just meh. The cheesy bites are basically fried cheese curds. They were good, but the picture on their website looked like some kind of cheese in philo dough, so I was a little disappointed to receive something so different from what was advertised. The fries were a bit soggy once we opened our to go order and the burger was served on a square ciabatta bun which was kind of odd. The falafel wrap had French fries in it and wasn't nearly as good as the falafel on their own with hummus. The couple were working very hard to serve the continual customers that walked through the door. I will visit again to try to donor meats, but will stick to the traditional Mediterranean fare. We went in tonight for the first time and were were greeted by two friendly faces. They made our order quickly, but while waiting let us try their baklava which was delicious! Upon getting the food we could wait to start eating so we started nibbling on the French fries in the car on the way home. I don't know what seasonings they use on their fries but they were full of flavor and not too salty! Delicious. Then we get home and slice the fried chicken sandwich in half to share. The sandwich itself is HUGE! it looks like a hand breaded chicken breast, and the ciabatta bread was perfectly toasted it and paired with the fried chicken so well. I asked for the special savory sauce on the side because I don't like mayonnaise. But I went ahead and dipped my sandwich half into the sauce and if there was mayonnaise in that sauce, I couldn't care less! It had so much flavor, you can really taste the fresh garlic! 11 out of 10, I will recommend this place to everyone and I can't wait to go back! Well done. read more
