After Sistory Thai in Albany closed, I was genuinely disappointed because I couldn't find anything that came close. I gave Imm Thai another try, tried Thai Table, and even Glom Thai (which replaced Sistory), but none of them had the same quality or flavors I had been missing. I also loved Banana Leaf in El Cerrito before it closed, so I figured those days were over. Then I found out the owners of Sistory had opened Saneh Bangkok in Pleasant Hill, so we decided to celebrate my aunt's birthday there. Wow, it exceeded all of our expectations. Every single dish was outstanding, and honestly, even better than I remembered from Sistory. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Red Curry, Spring Rolls, and the fried chicken with roti and Massaman curry. Everything was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and packed with flavor. The noodles had that authentic wok flavor I'd been searching for, the curry was rich and delicious, and the roti with Massaman curry was absolutely incredible. The portions were generous, the service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience reminded me why I loved Sistory so much in the first place. We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert, but next time I am definitely getting the mango sticky rice! As if that wasn't enough, I also learned the owners are behind Thai Lao Pakaoma in El Cerrito, which took over the old Banana Leaf location--and it's only five minutes from my house! My husband and I decided to try this place for dinner a few weeks ago, and I'm so glad we did! Everything we ordered was flavorful and really delicious. We started with the Peak Gai Tod (chicken wings). They were fried to perfection, and the sauce they came with paired so well with the wings! Our favorite dish was definitely the Pla Gapoeng Saam Roed (fried sea bass with spicy tamarind sauce). The fish was crispy, but that sauce was the real game changer! Came by for dinner the other night and it was a decent experience. Saneh Bangkok seems highly rated for Thai restaurants in the area and it was more of an Americanized Thai food experience. Made a reservation and our table was ready upon arrival. Dining is available at the bar or inside the dining room. Staff throughout the meal were fantastic with communication. Started off with the tom yum soup which was decent. Flavors were on the muted side of the spectrum. The lychee salad was quite nice as it had a slight kick to it. Surprisingly, there were a few gigantic prawns as part of this salad! The fried vegetarian egg rolls were decent and came with a dipping sauce. The pork satay was quite Americanized as the pork was on the leaner side and cooked towards a well done. The satay sauce was quite muted too. The crab fried rice was tasty and featured a generous amount of crab on top. Favorites included the short rib which was gigantic and super tender. The curry was decent too. Hands-down the best Thai food I've ever had, my wife feels the same way. We went here on July 4th for dinner around 5:30pm. There was ample parking in the lit and we got seated right away! I ordered the Roti Gai Tod which comes with crispy chicken, rice, curry, roti, sweet and sour sauce, and cucumber salad. The chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful and very crispy without being dry. Probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. The roti was also perfectly flaky and soft and pair beautifully with the massaman curry. The curry itself had a nice bold flavor, well-rounded spices that work together, and just a slight touch of spiciness. The potatoes in the curry were cooked perfect as well. The sweet and sour sauce was good with the chicken as well. My wife ordered the Saneh Neur Toon which is bone-in beef short rib in massaman curry with potatoes, carrots, and onions. It's also served with rice and peanuts. We asked for the peanuts on the side for both dishes by the way since I'm slightly allergic and they were very accommodating of this. The beef was amazing and was so tender that the mean was able to fall right off the bone. You can tell that they really slow-cooked the beef for hours and it came out so perfect. I don't even care for carrots but wow even the carrots were perfect. Both dishes had ingredients and flavors that felt very intentional and paired perfectly together. I have never said wow at a dish before in my life but this was the first time I actually said wow because I had never tasted anything so perfectly made before. We also got 2 drinks, a Thai iced tea and a Krungthep, which is a cocktail made of fermented wine, lychee syrup, anchun syrup, and blue curacao. The Thai iced tea was very authentic and the flavor was very bold which we liked. The cocktail was very smooth and refreshing as well. The lychee flavor really pulled through to bring the cocktail together. Overall, this is probably the best restaurant I've ever eaten at, I can't think of anything else that tops this place, especially because I've never experience the sensation of saying wow from tasting food before. Kinda easy to miss this place if you don't know it's there. It's tucked away from the busy part of Pleasant Hill, and honestly doesn't look like much from the outside, so look for it. We came on a Friday evening expecting a wait since it was pretty packed, but somehow they still found a table for the 3 of us pretty quick. Service was friendly and on point. Nobody kept us waiting and all the food came out faster than we expected, even with the restaurant being full. Inside is pretty simple... black minimalistic tables/chairs, nothing fancy, but I did like the little blue plates they serve everything on. Nice little touch. Food was solid overall. The Tom Kha soup had a really rich flavor and was probably my favorite thing we ordered. The tempura shrimp was alright, not bad, just nothing that really stood out. We visited Saneh today after a toddler hike. The location was very convenient, they had plenty of parking available and the lady working here was so kind. We came in, ordered a couple different items and had our food arrive pretty quickly. It was all delicious and approved by the kids. After our previous go-to Thai restaurant closed (Kacha Thai), we were delighted to discover Saneh Bangkok on a friend's recommendation on Beli Eats. We especially loved their pad see ew, which was just as good if not better than Kacha's. We used Saneh Bangkok to cater a birthday party, ordering trays of pork pad see-ew, larb, fried shrimp rolls, chicken wings, roti and curry, basil chicken, red curry, and rice. Mickey was very easy to communicate and coordinate with. I prepaid a week in advance at the restaurant. The food was freshly prepared, packaged well, and ready to be picked up at the designated time, along with complimentary utensils and serving tools. We got so many compliments on the quality of the dishes. The roti and shrimp rolls were the favorites, followed by the pad see ew, but everything was delicious. Even though the pricing already seemed very reasonable, we had a huge amount of food left afterwards, which froze well in ziploc bags (so we got to enjoy it over the next few weeks!). 5 of us went for dinner for the first time. Service was gracious. We ordered drinks and apps: roti and curry, Thai style soft spring rolls with shrimp and fresh veggies and a peanut sauce, and fried shrimp rolls with a sweet and vinegary dip. The soft rolls were delicious. The other items not very interesting. The crab fried rice was delicious, with lots of lump crab meat on top. We also got the duck curry (duck was tough but sauce was tasty), grilled branzino filets (not as fresh as we'd hoped) and the short rib curry. The short rib was great, flavorful and tender with a delicious curry sauce. My one criticism is that the potatoes it came with were cut too large and not fully cooked. Lastly we got the pork belly, which I think was refried and consequently dried out. Although we were pretty full we ordered 2 desserts, the mango with black sticky rice and a jackfruit and jelly either shaved ice in coconut sauce. Both were very good. The menu was large and interesting. I'm sure there are more delicious dishes to try. We will be back to discover more. There's also a decently priced lunch menu. I was running errands in Pleasant hill/ Martinez area and grabbed a. Quick lunch for takeout. It used to be Sherrys Kitchen which we had frequented for Breakfast. Now it is a quaint small Thai place which was serving Lunch. I had wanted or was craving Pineapple Fried rice. Unfortunately it is not on their menu. I settled for Thai Fried Rice with Chicken. They gave me a window of 10-15 mins which was fine since I was picking up some Dry cleaning nearby. The order was ready pretty quick and it was really good. The counter person informed me that they had a lunch combo that cane with Appetizers but I opted for the entree of Fried rice which was a hefty serving. Mother's Day was my first time visiting here all the way from the Peninsula. The service was great and I was welcomed promptly after walking in the door and waited just a minute to be taken to my table. I had made a reservation because I didn't know how crowded the place could get especially on Mother's Day but glad I did. The food was amazing and tasted great. It had been a while since I had eaten Thai food but coming here definitely reminded me of how much I missed it. I ordered the red curry chicken with a side of Jasmin rice. This was my first time trying red curry as I usually order yellow curry. This was my second time visiting Saneh Bangkok in Pleasant Hill and overall it continues to be one of the better Thai spots in the area. The cocktails are creative, the ambiance is really nice, and most of the dishes we tried were very flavorful with just a couple small things that fell a little short this time. Service was good throughout the evening. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and answered all of our questions about the menu. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. In the evening the lighting is dim which gives it a more intimate feel. It is a great place for a date night or dinner with friends. We started with cocktails and tried three. I ordered the Rattana. It was good but slightly sweeter than my personal preference. The drink is very floral forward so if you enjoy rose flavors you will probably really like this one. We also ordered the Saneh Bangkok cocktail which I thought was very well balanced. It had a nice mix of tartness and sweetness with a little kick from the dried chilies. My personal favorite was the Mahanakhon. It was very refreshing and the combination of orange wine with passionfruit and pineapple juice paired really well with all of the food. One of my favorite Thai dishes anywhere is papaya salad and theirs did not disappoint. I like that the papaya pieces are not perfectly uniform because it adds extra crunch and texture. The chili lime dressing had the perfect amount of spice. Next we ordered the roti dip. Flavor wise it was very good. The roti was buttery and flaky and tasted great with the dip. My only small complaint is the portion size. You are given one small piece of roti so if you are sharing with more than two people I would recommend ordering another one. For our main dishes we ordered the pad see ew with chicken, the pad gra pow with beef, and the massaman curry with jasmine rice. The pad gra pow and the massaman curry were both excellent. The curry was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The one dish that fell a little short for me this time was the pad see ew. It is usually one of my favorite dishes and the first time I had it here it was very delicious. Unfortunately on this visit it had a slightly bitter almost burnt taste. For dessert we ordered the mango sticky rice. The mangoes were perfectly ripe and fresh and the sticky rice was warm and comforting. My only note is that it was a little sweeter than I expected. It may have had a little too much condensed milk but it was still very good overall. Overall I would definitely come back. The cocktails, papaya salad, and curries are worth returning for. For an appetizer we got Goong Grabog (Marinated crispy shrimp rolls, side of sweet and sour sauce). The shrimps were tender and crispy. The sauce was homemade and sweet with a slight kick. My FIL got the Suki (soup with silver grass noodles, egg, chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, carrot, onions, cabbage, sesame soy bean broth). He loves a good soup and said it was super fresh and tasty. He finished the whole thing. My husband got the Pad Kee Mao (Flat rice noodles, homemade spicy sauce, choice of protein, eggs, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, basil), he said it was super fresh and flavorful. Their noodles were also excellent. I got the Kua Gai (Flat rice noodles, homemade sweet sauce, egg, chicken, shrimp, chopped romaine, green onions, crispy rice paper). My mom has been wanting to try Thai food for the longest time and after doing some research on highly rated Thai restaurants in the pleasant hill/concord/Walnut Creek area, I found Saneh Bangkok. Parking: shared lot with other businesses. Lot is small though so not much spots available. We arrive Sunday evening around 6:30 pm and we only found one spot available. Ambiance: cozy and modern. Each table is equipped with a mini lamp which creates an intimate atmosphere. Open bar area. Table seating. This is a great spot to take a date. Service: 3.5/5. When we entered, no one acknowledged us. One staff making drinks, one staff on the phone and the other is delivering food to the table. We stood there for a few minutes before the staff on the phone hinted that she will be right with us. After seated with the menu, no water was provided. I saw one girl bringing water to another table and packing the customers leftover but there was no intention of bringing us water. A male wait staff finally approached our table, further acknowledged our presence and provided us water. He took our order and periodically checked in on us throughout dinner. Hence, the 3.5 stars is solely because of him. Otherwise, it would have been 1 star for service. Food: 4/5. Between 2 people, we ordered the crab fried rice, pad Thai with beef and mango sticky rice. Portion sizes were very generous. We left with a box full of pad Thai. The highlights were the crab fried rice (large chunks of crab meat) and the mango sticky rice (just the right amount of sweetness and tart). The crab fried rice was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The pad Thai was just ok, the beef was over cooked and rough. Cost: $$. Solid prices given portion sizes and taste. Will I return? Coming from the LA area we had high expectations after dining at Thai Emporium in Westwood. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was here but also how quickly it came and how hot and fresh it was. The prices were also reasonable considering the amount of food we ordered. Now that we live in the East Bay this place will become a regular favorite of ours. We loved their restaurant 'Sistory' in Berkeley and can say they brought that same attention to detail here! read more

Good authentic Thai food are hard to find in the Bay Area, and we found one! Located off a main road in a strip mall with ample parking, expect to be put on a waiting list during peak dining hours but worth the wait. Beautifully decorated and friendly staff are the first thing you'll notice walking in (only one restroom stall). Restaurant is not that big with seating for about 40 people. The food is excellent all around and the paste and sauce taste fresh. To round it off, this place got amazing pairing cocktails (order your food and ask the Waiter for cocktail recommendations). read more
