Kinda easy to miss this place if you don't know it's there. It's tucked away from the busy part of Pleasant Hill, and honestly doesn't look like much from the outside, so look for it. Nobody kept us waiting and all the food came out faster than we expected, even with the restaurant being full. Inside is pretty simple... black minimalistic tables/chairs, nothing fancy, but I did like the little blue plates they serve everything on. Nice little touch. Food was solid overall. The Tom Kha soup had a really rich flavor and was probably my favorite thing we ordered. The tempura shrimp was alright, not bad, just nothing that really stood out. Mother's Day was my first time visiting here all the way from the Peninsula. The service was great and I was welcomed promptly after walking in the door and waited just a minute to be taken to my table. I had made a reservation because I didn't know how crowded the place could get especially on Mother's Day but glad I did. The food was amazing and tasted great. It had been a while since I had eaten Thai food but coming here definitely reminded me of how much I missed it. I ordered the red curry chicken with a side of Jasmin rice. This was my first time trying red curry as I usually order yellow curry. I do have to mention that it was spicier than I thought and definitely made me have a runny nose but nothing I couldn't handle lol. Came here for lunch to give this place a try after seeing it featured on TicTok. This is a cute inviting little Thai spot! Their dining room is very classy with dark blue walls. We visited Saneh today after a toddler hike. The location was very convenient, they had plenty of parking available and the lady working here was so kind. We came in, ordered a couple different items and had our food arrive pretty quickly. It was all delicious and approved by the kids. I also would like to highlight the fact that they had reusable plastic plates, utensils and cups!! Another great find I would have probably not come across if it weren't for good old TikTok! Saneh is a cozy, little Thai spot tucked away in the quieter part of Pleasant Hill. The food is delicious! The crab omelette was my favorite! It had a good amount of crab and was paired with a hearty broth. The pork belly dish was crispy perfection. Came across Saneh Bangkok while waiting across the street at the John Muir Medical offices. It was lunchtime and they offered lunch specials. Upon entering, tables were full, a good sign that the food must be good. I ordered the Crab Rangoons and Thai Fried Rice with pork to go. The wait wasn't that long. I was running errands in Pleasant hill/ Martinez area and grabbed a. Quick lunch for takeout. It used to be Sherrys Kitchen which we had frequented for Breakfast. Now it is a quaint small Thai place which was serving Lunch. I had wanted or was craving Pineapple Fried rice. Unfortunately it is not on their menu. I settled for Thai Fried Rice with Chicken. They gave me a window of 10-15 mins which was fine since I was picking up some Dry cleaning nearby. The order was ready pretty quick and it was really good. The counter person informed me that they had a lunch combo that cane with Appetizers but I opted for the entree of Fried rice which was a hefty serving. You can have spicy Thai dishes here if you specifically ask for higher spice level. This was my second time visiting Saneh Bangkok in Pleasant Hill and overall it continues to be one of the better Thai spots in the area. The cocktails are creative, the ambiance is really nice, and most of the dishes we tried were very flavorful with just a couple small things that fell a little short this time. Service was good throughout the evening. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and answered all of our questions about the menu. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. In the evening the lighting is dim which gives it a more intimate feel. It is a great place for a date night or dinner with friends. We started with cocktails and tried three. I ordered the Rattana. It was good but slightly sweeter than my personal preference. The drink is very floral forward so if you enjoy rose flavors you will probably really like this one. We also ordered the Saneh Bangkok cocktail which I thought was very well balanced. It had a nice mix of tartness and sweetness with a little kick from the dried chilies. My personal favorite was the Mahanakhon. It was very refreshing and the combination of orange wine with passionfruit and pineapple juice paired really well with all of the food. One of my favorite Thai dishes anywhere is papaya salad and theirs did not disappoint. I like that the papaya pieces are not perfectly uniform because it adds extra crunch and texture. The chili lime dressing had the perfect amount of spice. Next we ordered the roti dip. Flavor wise it was very good. The roti was buttery and flaky and tasted great with the dip. My only small complaint is the portion size. You are given one small piece of roti so if you are sharing with more than two people I would recommend ordering another one. For our main dishes we ordered the pad see ew with chicken, the pad gra pow with beef, and the massaman curry with jasmine rice. The pad gra pow and the massaman curry were both excellent. The curry was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The one dish that fell a little short for me this time was the pad see ew. It is usually one of my favorite dishes and the first time I had it here it was very delicious. Unfortunately on this visit it had a slightly bitter almost burnt taste. For dessert we ordered the mango sticky rice. The mangoes were perfectly ripe and fresh and the sticky rice was warm and comforting. My only note is that it was a little sweeter than I expected. It may have had a little too much condensed milk but it was still very good overall. Overall I would definitely come back. The cocktails, papaya salad, and curries are worth returning for. Tip if you are sharing appetizers with more than two people order an extra roti. Also do not skip the cocktails. The Mahanakhon was my favorite. read more

It's a beautiful space. The service was good. They kept filling our waters and checking in. I would recommend everything we ordered. For an appetizer we got Goong Grabog (Marinated crispy shrimp rolls, side of sweet and sour sauce). The shrimps were tender and crispy. The sauce was homemade and sweet with a slight kick. My FIL got the Suki (soup with silver grass noodles, egg, chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, carrot, onions, cabbage, sesame soy bean broth). He loves a good soup and said it was super fresh and tasty. He finished the whole thing. My husband got the Pad Kee Mao (Flat rice noodles, homemade spicy sauce, choice of protein, eggs, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, basil), he said it was super fresh and flavorful. Their noodles were also excellent. I got the Kua Gai (Flat rice noodles, homemade sweet sauce, egg, chicken, shrimp, chopped romaine, green onions, crispy rice paper). My mom has been wanting to try Thai food for the longest time and after doing some research on highly rated Thai restaurants in the pleasant hill/concord/Walnut Creek area, I found Saneh Bangkok. Parking: shared lot with other businesses. Lot is small though so not much spots available. We arrive Sunday evening around 6:30 pm and we only found one spot available. Ambiance: cozy and modern. Each table is equipped with a mini lamp which creates an intimate atmosphere. Open bar area. Table seating. This is a great spot to take a date. Service: 3.5/5. When we entered, no one acknowledged us. One staff making drinks, one staff on the phone and the other is delivering food to the table. We stood there for a few minutes before the staff on the phone hinted that she will be right with us. After seated with the menu, no water was provided. I saw one girl bringing water to another table and packing the customers leftover but there was no intention of bringing us water. A male wait staff finally approached our table, further acknowledged our presence and provided us water. He took our order and periodically checked in on us throughout dinner. Hence, the 3.5 stars is solely because of him. Otherwise, it would have been 1 star for service. Food: 4/5. Between 2 people, we ordered the crab fried rice, pad Thai with beef and mango sticky rice. Portion sizes were very generous. We left with a box full of pad Thai. The highlights were the crab fried rice (large chunks of crab meat) and the mango sticky rice (just the right amount of sweetness and tart). The crab fried rice was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The pad Thai was just ok, the beef was over cooked and rough. Cost: $$. Solid prices given portion sizes and taste. Will I return? Located off a main road in a strip mall with ample parking, expect to be put on a waiting list during peak dining hours but worth the wait. Beautifully decorated and friendly staff are the first thing you'll notice walking in (only one restroom stall). Restaurant is not that big with seating for about 40 people. The food is excellent all around and the paste and sauce taste fresh. It's a small joint, so if this place catches fire, you could end up waiting. All the dishes we ordered were amazing. The Pork was crispy (reminiscent of Lechon kawali if you know Filipino food.) The fish was fresh and tasty, and came with a fried rice with amazing flavor. The Pad See Ew was good, although I would probably for the Pad Kee Mow next time (my mother doesn't like spice). The only thing that didn't appeal to me, was that the fish dish came with steamed vegetables? Cabbage/Carrots/Green Beans. Is this normal for Thai Cuisine? I'm used to these veggies being pickled, and I would have much preferred that. Service was great. The carafe of water was always filled and COLD. I went to this restaurant on a busy Friday night. My experience from the first time I went there was so different, but I'm glad to see they're thriving. There was no parking available in their lot, but there's plenty of parking in the lot across the street. We had a reservation but were given a table right next to the door which was drafty. The place was buzzing and so incredibly loud I had to raise my voice to talk to my friend. Service was not great, the woman helping us was very lackluster and not attentive, and there was a man who was a little better but he wasn't our main server. I had to ask for a fork, and then a spoon, basic needs. Our curry came out way before the rice and was very spicy. Everything was super salty and potentially had MSG as my tounge felt fuzzy and I got a headache after. I definitely felt the after-effects of the heavy salt, plus I was clear to the server that I was allergic to peanuts (mild allergy) but there was peanut in something as I had an allergy attack later. We were told that there wasn't peanut in the curry that came with the roti, but perhaps that was the culprit, or perhaps something was cooked with peanut oil. We wanted a dessert since it was my friend's birthday but it took forever to flag down the server, and then they didn't have anything that looked good to us on the menu. When I received my curry, I realized that there are only 2 shrimp; wow I was surprised that it costs $4 for 2 regular sized shrimp! That is pretty expensive I think. I ordered lunch for pick up today and was disappointed that I didn't get exactly what I ordered. I was planning to call to make a complaint but I'll leave it here instead. For my pad thai lunch special I was expecting the roll sod that was recommended but got a different roll with just veggies and a peanut dipping sauce which I didn't like. I specifically asked for my Thai beef basil to be an a la cart item and it came with a side of rice inside so I'm assuming I didn't get my full order. This is one of my favorite Thai spots in the Bay Area! They literally amaze me with their unique plates and delicious flavors. We walked in on a Sunday night around 6:30pm. Not very busy and we're sat down immediately. It was four of us so we ordered a variety of plates. small Tom yum soup, roti gai Tod (crispy thigh chicken, roti, rice, cucumber salad), Kai jeow puu (crab meat omelette), shrimp pad Thai & pad makheur (eggplant & beef sauté). Everything was so good! My top were the crab omelette and the fried chicken with the roti and actually really loved the pad Thai. The food tastes very fresh and homey. They brought everything out as they were done and everything had such a great flavor. I also think they have a really good price point where you can get something delicious and not break the bank. 4.5 stars I came in with a Thai food craving, and I've seen Saneh on my way to and from taekwondo in the area. I ordered the lunch combo, which is an appetizer and entree. I ordered the goong grabob, which is a fried shrimp and a red curry with chicken, medium spice. The shrimp was nicely coated and crunch. The curry was really good, and had a good spice level. It's the kind of spice that you'll sweat a little bit, it tells you that it's there, but it won't overwhelm you. The server was really helpful and nice. I love the restaurant's vibe. Indoors, it uses a lot of natural light, and there was clearly a lot of thought and care put into the interior design. The space has pictures of markets in Thailand, and the place has a well-organized bar. There is Thai music playing, but it is not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation with people. The one knock I do have that stops me from giving them 5 stars is the pricing. At first glance, the lunch combo is listed at $16, but if you order certain items, such as the shrimp I did, that's an extra dollar, which . The other issue is the entree. While they give options, such as tofu, vegetables, chicken, shrimp, pork, etc., they charge extra for meat. That feels a little predatory and undermines advertising the lunch combo at $16.
