    Roti Gai Tod
    Matthew M.

Hands-down the best Thai food I've ever had, my wife feels the same way. We went here on July 4th for dinner around 5:30pm. There was ample parking in the lit and we got seated right away! I ordered the Roti Gai Tod which comes with crispy chicken, rice, curry, roti, sweet and sour sauce, and cucumber salad. The chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful and very crispy without being dry. Probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. The roti was also perfectly flaky and soft and pair beautifully with the massaman curry. The curry itself had a nice bold flavor, well-rounded spices that work together, and just a slight touch of spiciness. The potatoes in the curry were cooked perfect as well. The sweet and sour sauce was good with the chicken as well. My wife ordered the Saneh Neur Toon which is bone-in beef short rib in massaman curry with potatoes, carrots, and onions. It's also served with rice and peanuts. We asked for the peanuts on the side for both dishes by the way since I'm slightly allergic and they were very accommodating of this. The beef was amazing and was so tender that the mean was able to fall right off the bone. You can tell that they really slow-cooked the beef for hours and it came out so perfect. I don't even care for carrots but wow even the carrots were perfect. Both dishes had ingredients and flavors that felt very intentional and paired perfectly together. I have never said wow at a dish before in my life but this was the first time I actually said wow because I had never tasted anything so perfectly made before. We also got 2 drinks, a Thai iced tea and a Krungthep, which is a cocktail made of fermented wine, lychee syrup, anchun syrup, and blue curacao. The Thai iced tea was very authentic and the flavor was very bold which we liked. The cocktail was very smooth and refreshing as well. The lychee flavor really pulled through to bring the cocktail together. Overall, this is probably the best restaurant I've ever eaten at, I can't think of anything else that tops this place, especially because I've never experience the sensation of saying wow from tasting food before. We will definitey be coming back and recommending this place to our friends and family. 100/10 stars, thank you Saneh Bangkok staff and team!

Kinda easy to miss this place if you don't know it's there. It's tucked away from the busy part of Pleasant Hill, and honestly doesn't look like much from the outside, so look for it. We came on a Friday evening expecting a wait since it was pretty packed, but somehow they still found a table for the 3 of us pretty quick. Service was friendly and on point. Nobody kept us waiting and all the food came out faster than we expected, even with the restaurant being full. Inside is pretty simple... black minimalistic tables/chairs, nothing fancy, but I did like the little blue plates they serve everything on. Nice little touch. Food was solid overall. The Tom Kha soup had a really rich flavor and was probably my favorite thing we ordered. The tempura shrimp was alright, not bad, just nothing that really stood out. The shrimp Thai fried rice with red curry though... that was the filling winner. Plenty for the three guys to share and every bite was really good. Would def come back. Not a flashy place, but good food, good service, and a nice spot when you're craving Thai. 4 stars from me.

Came here for lunch to give this place a try after seeing it featured on TicTok. This is a cute inviting little Thai spot! Their dining room is very classy with dark blue walls. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We got the crab fried rice and a Thai basil rice dish with tofu. Delicious, both of them! There was so much lump crab on the plate it makes the $27 totally worth it. The rice dish was so flavorful and everything tasted super fresh. The service was very friendly and attentive. I will be back

Best Thai Place in Pleasant Hill! Literally a hidden gem! This place is tucked away in the neighborhood, but the food here can rival any trendy restaurant in a big city. Huge flavors and reasonable pricing. We got multiple dishes from the specialty menu and they were all a hit! Highly recommend this place!

Crab fried rice, my all-time favorite pad see ew and their specialty crispy pork belly. The staff were very accommodating and I loved the dimly lit ambiance.

We came here around 12pm on a Saturday. It was almost full by the time we got there. There was only one server. Friendly. We got seated. Ordered some drinks. I liked how the straw paper had flowers on them. It was a cute touch. The server was so busy though. He was getting peoples drink orders. Making drinks. Taking peoples food orders. It was clearly too much for him. It took us 20mins for him to come back to take our order. They definitely need to hire more people. The restaurant was packed and it is a Saturday lunch time hour. My favorite was the Saneh Neur Toon: slow-cooked tender large bone-in beef short rib. It was huge! Beef was so tender. I also liked the crab fried rice. Real crab and big chunks too! For app, the roti dip was great. Needed to be a bigger portion though. Haha. We wanted more.

Another great find I would have probably not come across if it weren't for good old TikTok! Saneh is a cozy, little Thai spot tucked away in the quieter part of Pleasant Hill. The food is delicious! The crab omelette was my favorite! It had a good amount of crab and was paired with a hearty broth. The pork belly dish was crispy perfection. I ended my meal with the mangos w/coconut milk and black sticky rice. The ultimate Asian compliment- it was not too sweet. Just the right amount of sweetness and the mangoes were perfectly ripe. Looking forward to my next visit here and trying out the rest of the menu!

We visited Saneh today after a toddler hike. The location was very convenient, they had plenty of parking available and the lady working here was so kind. We came in, ordered a couple different items and had our food arrive pretty quickly. It was all delicious and approved by the kids. I also would like to highlight the fact that they had reusable plastic plates, utensils and cups!! We really appreciate how flexible they were and how we didn't get any side eyes for having our kids there.

Saneh Bangkok is such a fantastic addition to Pleasant Hill! From the moment we walked in, the restaurant had a warm, modern atmosphere, and the service was attentive and welcoming. Every dish came out beautifully presented, and you can really taste the authentic Thai flavors. We started with happy hour bites and drinks. The Mahanakhon and Rattana cocktails were both refreshing and well-balanced. The Roti Dip was warm, flaky, and paired perfectly with the rich curry dip. The Roll Sod (fresh spring rolls) were light and fresh, while the Muu Satay featured tender, flavorful grilled pork with a delicious peanut sauce. The Peak Gai Tod (fried chicken wings) were crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and incredibly addictive. For our entrées, the Gai Tod 5 Star was perfectly fried, crispy, and packed with flavor. The Sam Chun Tod Nam Pla (crispy fried pork belly) was one of our favorites--crispy, savory, and absolutely irresistible. The Guay Tiew Neur (beef noodle soup) was comforting with tender beef and a rich, aromatic broth. We also ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, which had a great balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. To finish, the Mango Sticky Rice was the perfect dessert. The mango was sweet and ripe, and the purple sticky rice had the purple chewy texture. Everything we ordered was delicious, portions were generous, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. Whether you're stopping by for happy hour, dinner with family, or a date night, Saneh Bangkok is absolutely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu! Highly recommend!

Came across Saneh Bangkok while waiting across the street at the John Muir Medical offices. It was lunchtime and they offered lunch specials. Upon entering, tables were full, a good sign that the food must be good. I ordered the Crab Rangoons and Thai Fried Rice with pork to go. The wait wasn't that long. Their Crab Rangoons was one of the BEST I had! They were shaped like a cube and full of filling. Fried rice was delicious! Highly recommend! Will definitely come back to try others but will order more Crab Rangoons next time!

Ordered a bunch of items from DoorDash. They didn't have the option to choose condiments but when I called, the person that answered the phone was incredibly friendly and was able to add them to my order. I got the: Green curry - has great flavor but a little too salty Fried chicken roti - unfortunately it tasted like they need to change the oil in the fryer. It was soaked in oil, overcooked, and had a weird aftertaste Thai fried rice - did not taste like a Thai fried rice at all. Unfortunately tasted like Chinese fried rice with even less seasoning Cucumber salad - minimal dressing, just a bunch of naked vegetables Tom yum - ordered this with tofu. They fried the tofu which changed the flavor of the broth. It unfortunately made the dish unpleasant and I cannot eat it Sticky rice - has the perfect stick and I was able to dip in my curry Pad Thai - veeeerrrryyyy sweet and not the sour tamarind flavor I'm used to

Mother's Day was my first time visiting here all the way from the Peninsula. The service was great and I was welcomed promptly after walking in the door and waited just a minute to be taken to my table. I had made a reservation because I didn't know how crowded the place could get especially on Mother's Day but glad I did. The food was amazing and tasted great. It had been a while since I had eaten Thai food but coming here definitely reminded me of how much I missed it. I ordered the red curry chicken with a side of Jasmin rice. This was my first time trying red curry as I usually order yellow curry. I do have to mention that it was spicier than I thought and definitely made me have a runny nose but nothing I couldn't handle lol. The fried chicken wings were also amazing and definitely loved the crunchiness to it. It was cooked really through and I enjoyed that. Everything had just enough spices to really enjoy the food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great Thai food near Pleasant Hill.

To start, the employee working at the cash register was super friendly and gave great suggestions on drinks and food to order based on how sweet we like things or more coffee for we may want things to be. There isn't really any indoor seating space but they did build out into the parking lot with a few picnic tables and chairs for people to stay and eat their food. While we both really enjoyed the food - both of which were recommended by the employee - the coffee was not good at all. Pro: the avocado toast that we ordered had a curried chickpea salad on top and it had a delicious flavor. That was probably my favorite bite! We also shared half order of the blueberry waffle, and it had a type of granola on top that provided some really great textures. The food certainly impressed me. Con: Both of us felt like the coffee had none of the flavor that it was supposed to have (we both ordered the cardamom maple iced latte with macadamia nut milk) and instead, it just tasted like milk. It didn't even really have a coffee forward flavor. Since this is a coffee shop that was a pretty big disappointment. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service, but would skip the coffee.

The location is easy to get to, with lots of parking behind in a lot, and it's very clean, with lots of chairs and tables; yet all were filled this Saturday evening, which is a good sign. There are too many pastries, treats, and drinks to even cover, and we spent a few minutes trying to find our choices, which you mainly pick from cabinets using a self-serve tray and tongs. For drinks and cake (whole or sliced), you order those at the counter. We decided on some pastries, some cake slices, and a drink. And S'mores was the predominant theme today. We ordered a raspberry fruit bite, 2 chocolate supreme croissants, 2 S'mores Belgian waffles, a sugar mochi donut, a coffee donut croissant, 2 slices of S'mores chocolate marshmallow cake, and a slice of rainbow cake. We also got the cream cheese puff and the crème brûlée bombolone ... quite the name! And, of course, a S'mores frappe! The server helping us at the register was polite and efficient, but there was only one register open and a long line. As such, other folks were helping gather the goodies from the cake case, and as we were taking these to go, we did not realize until we were home that the rainbow cake was not a rainbow cake, but a THIRD slice of S'mores cake. Ugh. That one was chosen by the 8-year-old, who was understandably not happy, and the additional insult of paying extra (above the cost of the S'mores) for a cake we didn't get made ME unhappy too! Paid $8.29, got a $6.99 cake slice. The pastries are generally good, with some very good and some more of a "meh." Among the best were the raspberry fruit bite and the coffee donut croissant. That coffee one was a surprise, as it had a soft liquid filling we didn't realize when buying, and the taste was very coffee, which I loved. Will get that again for sure. The S'mores chocolate supreme croissant was also popular. The crème brûlée bombolone was different, with a light pastry and a filling different from what I usually find in crème puffs, and it was tasty. The waffles were not a light and airy as we would have liked, but the flavor was good. The mochi donut was a bit dry as well, not up to true Japanese bakery standards, and the cream cheese puff was all puff and short on the cream cheese (see photos). And the S'more cake was good for flavor, very rich and S'morey, but the presentation really is lacking. Not that I normally compare one chain to another, but for example, when we get Crumbl, the product is very close to the advertising. Not so with the S'more cake, and I am not even sure all the layers were there and in the proper order or proportion; check out the photos and see what I mean. However, the flavor was spot on, and that is the ultimate goal, although the "eyes eat first," as we Yelpers know! And the highlight was not a pastry or cake, but the S'more frappe. It was layered beautifully, fresh-tasting, and very S'morey (yes, a new word I now love!). We even got a second, as we had to eat this there so it could be shared by the group, and it was calling us! Definitely hope it is available next visit, and Starbucks could take a lesson in quality versus price point. Some of the pastries here are really not worth the cost for the product (would skip the cream cheese puff, for example, and the mochi donut), but everything else was very good. Other than an error in fulfilling the order correctly and a couple a poor pastries (quality), it was a good first visit, and we all would come back when near a location.
