But you know me, food is what it is all about in my reviews! Lol! Cajun calamari 5/5 not too spicy at least I didn't notice but it was excellent and very crunchy. With a honey mustard style sauce which complimented the calamari. Chicken satay 5/5 excellent and smooth with yummy peanut sauce and tiny cup of cucumber salad. Garlic wings 4/5 ( some family members liked this the best). Garlicky and flavorful but for me, these were dry type of fried wings and I like mine with a glaze or sauce. Samosa- 4/5 a kind of sweet mashed potato type of filling. Fresh spring rolls 4/5 ok I am used to big kind where you can taste shrimp. These were small, and cut up. Fried veg rolls 4/5 kind of like small lumpia- ok Eggplant with chicken and basil 5/5 Pumpkin curry with chicken 5/5 one of my favorites Grilled lamb chops 5/5 my favorite of all. Grilled perfectly. Taste was excellent and served with special rice( forbidden rice or purple rice on top?). Drunken noodles with beef-5/5 ( some of my family's favorites). Pad Thai I paid extra for chicken and shrimp together. 5/5 I don't usually like shrimp but the prawns alone were amazing! Whole dish was perfect. Pad See Ew- 4/5 good but if I had to pick the other two pad Thai (#2) and drunken noodles (#1)were better. Laos sausage wrapped in leaves with a mix of peanuts, red onions and fresh lime and garlic. 5/5 A spicy sausage cut into slices to be wrapped in lettuce leaves. Pineapple fried rice 5/5 Mango Lovers- 10/5 surprisingly a star showcase of varied mango desserts with macaron cookies. Thai iced tea ice cream( loved this one), mango ice cream, mango slices and sweet rice, and a fresh strawberry and mango slices and a mango mousse cake slice. All excellent! I was surprised how big this was, so don't need to order any other dessert if you order this!!! Then my favorite fried banana fried in like a eggroll type wrapper. Smooth and yummy! And coconut ice cream complimented it perfectly. 10/5 So here you have an idea of menu offerings. All of them delicious and service and ambiance wonderful! I had a group of 12 in our party. Fantastic food, vibe and service! Torsap Thai nailed it! The atmosphere is upbeat and cool, yet perfect for a great family conversation. We brought a wide age range (from a tween to an 89-year-old), and the staff was incredibly accommodating. They happily made a simple salmon and sticky rice dish for my tween, though she loved the look of the food so much she ended up eating our tuna tower, yellow chicken curry, drunken noodles, and pad Thai too...all of which were phenomenal. First impressions go a long way. We came 5 minutes early for our reservation, and we were told that we couldn't be seated until our party was complete. I wasn't going to argue with the restaurant's policy despite it being almost empty. I was mostly dismayed and taken aback how curt the young hostess with the eyebrow piercing was towards us. It's not the message, but how it's delivered! Thankfully our waitress Pam was a breath of fresh air. She checked on our party regularly. She was patient as our large party tried to figure out our orders. She ensured all our food and drinks arrived as ordered. Our meals were tasty, but portions were on the smaller size. This place has real good Thai food. I think the presentation of the food is excellent. I had a Thai iced tea which wasn't bad but they put in a ball of compressed round ice that really reduced the volume of liquid. However, they did give me another free glass as they duplicated my order and error. The garlic wings and vegetable crispy rolls were delicious. I would suggest though that they give you more lettuce to wrap the crispy rolls. They were really sparse about that. For my main entrée I had the Pad See You with shrimp. The protein cost me an extra eight dollars for a total of $30 for the dish. A bit pricey in my opinion, although it was quite tasty. The fried banana and ice cream was good however I wish there had been more of it. The service was really good too. It's has a nice interior also. This establishment is worth patronizing. 8 days of us just had the most fantastic meal here! We ordered family style and so we all got to try everything. The fresh rolls came out looking beautiful and they were so delicious! This place is awesome. It was our first time and we had called for reservations. We ended up arriving early but they still seated us right away. The service was very friendly and attentive. The decor is modern and halfway through our dinner the music turned up and it had more of a club vibe with flashing lights etc. While it doesn't seem geared towards kids necessarily, our waitress was very fun and nice with my daughter so the can do it all. There was eventually a server in shorts and sunglasses (at night) who kneels at the tables to present your drinks to you. It was very entertaining. The food was awesome. My mother-in-law says it's the best Tuna Tower she's ever had. The crispy rice salad was fantastic and my Khao Soi was incredible. My father in law asked for his curry extra spicy and they did exactly that, so make sure you can hang if you ask for it. We will definitely be back. I ordered a Ka Prow Kai from the prix fixe lunch menu along with a tofu spring roll, she ordered a Tom Kha Soup with Chicken Pad See You, and we decided to share dessert, which was Mango Sticky Rice, of course! My favorite was the fresh tofu spring roll, especially when dipped in the creamy peanut sauce it was served with. I also enjoyed the macaron they served with my dish. My friends got married and did a celebration dinner! They booked a private party and the restaurant had a private room in the back. There was at least 20+ people and we were able to fit comfortably. The ambiance was very warm and romantic with the lighting and decor. They also had a separate table for guests to put gifts or their bags at. The food were all on one side of the room and they were delicious! I didn't take note of every single food but it was good! The food is self serve. The only thing is that, they didn't give us bowls for the curry, but I guess you can pour the curry over rice haha. They also had servers that came around and took our drink orders and also refilled our water. The Thai tea was delicious and sweet. They kept clearing the table and asking if everything was okay and informed us that the appetizer fresh spring roll would be late because it was being freshly made. Worth the wait. Extremely disappointing experience at Torsap Thai. For the prices they charge, the food quality and portions were nowhere close to acceptable. We ordered the Tom Yum Hotpot for $58 and it was honestly shocking how little actual seafood was included. The pot was mostly stuffed with cabbage, tofu, instant noodles, and broth to make it appear full. There were only about 4 shrimp, 4 tiny pieces of squid, and 2 small pieces of fish in the entire hotpot. The soup tasted overly sour, cheap, and nothing like a quality Tom Yum. The Volcanic Beef was just as disappointing. At $35, we expected a decent serving of beef, but instead got around 7 small pieces cut into roughly 1-inch cubes, surrounded by a pile of vegetables to make the portion look bigger than it actually was. The flavor was average at best and definitely not worth the price. I did not even mention the other dishes we ordered because the list of disappointments would just go on and on. We spent around $200 total and it was absolutely not worth it. Overall, this restaurant seems more focused on making plates look full with cheap fillers rather than serving quality food. They have a very comfortable and inviting sitting area in the front of the restaurant if you're just having a few drinks, and both indoor and outdoor seating for dining. I've been here for lunch and dinner, but my preference is cocktails and appetizers. The Lychee Martini is perfection in a glass. ALL of the apps are delicious, but the standouts are the Roti and dips, Tuna Tower, Thai Samosas, and Chicken Satay. The staff here is great, super friendly, helpful and attentive. Definitely time for an updated review for Torsap. My previous review referenced my first visit to this place with a friend of mine on a night where the service left a lot to be desired. Since then, I've been back a number of times with my partner, and the experience has consistently been much better, to the point where it has become one of our regular spots in WC. So, they have an amazing deal of $1.50 oysters Monday through Friday 3-6pm, and all day Tuesday! Prolly shouldn't be telling y'all this, I wouldn't want them to run out, but there you go, you're welcome. And the oysters are always fresh and nicely sized, they don't cheap out.
