I really wanted to like this place more because the interior is absolutely beautifull. It's one of the nicest designed Thai restaurants I've been to in the WC area. The seating is very comfortable, the space feels upscale, and if you get one of the Locust west-facing windows around sunset, it's a pretty nice atmosphere. The host made a great first impression with a warm welcome and got us seated right away. After that, though, the service kind of faded away. Our server rarely checked on us, and when we were ready to pay, we waited for quite a while before finally getting up and finding him ourselves to ask for the bill. As for the food... it was just very average. The Tom Kha soup had a strange chlorine-like aftertaste that was hard to ignore. The lamb shank looked good but was a bit dry, and the garlic pepper chicken was just... there. Nothing bad, nothing memorable either. Overall, it feels more like a stylish cocktail lounge that happens to serve Thai food than a destination restaurant for the food itself. Great location and ambiance in Walnut Creek. Just had Father's Day lunch wi ty my family. Overall - very good dishes and plenty of flavor. The chicken plate was VERY good, incredible taste and cooked perfectly The pad thai, solid choice and my Mrs. was very happy. I didn't get a pic of my son's yellow curry with chicken, as he dove into it before I could take a snapshot . He said it was one of the best curried he's had Only two little minor points on this visit. Being a popular spot, service ran a bit slow would be the biggest critic, along with being out of Singha Beer. I wasn't going to argue with the restaurant's policy despite it being almost empty. I was mostly dismayed and taken aback how curt the young hostess with the eyebrow piercing was towards us. It's not the message, but how it's delivered! Thankfully our waitress Pam was a breath of fresh air. She checked on our party regularly. She was patient as our large party tried to figure out our orders. She ensured all our food and drinks arrived as ordered. Our meals were tasty, but portions were on the smaller size. This place is awesome. It was our first time and we had called for reservations. We ended up arriving early but they still seated us right away. The service was very friendly and attentive. The decor is modern and halfway through our dinner the music turned up and it had more of a club vibe with flashing lights etc. While it doesn't seem geared towards kids necessarily, our waitress was very fun and nice with my daughter so the can do it all. There was eventually a server in shorts and sunglasses (at night) who kneels at the tables to present your drinks to you. It was very entertaining. The food was awesome. My mother-in-law says it's the best Tuna Tower she's ever had. The crispy rice salad was fantastic and my Khao Soi was incredible. My father in law asked for his curry extra spicy and they did exactly that, so make sure you can hang if you ask for it. We will definitely be back. I ordered a Ka Prow Kai from the prix fixe lunch menu along with a tofu spring roll, she ordered a Tom Kha Soup with Chicken Pad See You, and we decided to share dessert, which was Mango Sticky Rice, of course! My favorite was the fresh tofu spring roll, especially when dipped in the creamy peanut sauce it was served with. I also enjoyed the macaron they served with my dish. Thai iced tea ice cream( loved this one), mango ice cream, mango slices and sweet rice, and a fresh strawberry and mango slices and a mango mousse cake slice. All excellent! I was surprised how big this was, so don't need to order any other dessert if you order this!!! Then my favorite fried banana fried in like a eggroll type wrapper. Smooth and yummy! And coconut ice cream complimented it perfectly. 10/5 So here you have an idea of menu offerings. All of them delicious and service and ambiance wonderful! I had a group of 12 in our party. This place has real good Thai food. I think the presentation of the food is excellent. I had a Thai iced tea which wasn't bad but they put in a ball of compressed round ice that really reduced the volume of liquid. However, they did give me another free glass as they duplicated my order and error. The garlic wings and vegetable crispy rolls were delicious. I would suggest though that they give you more lettuce to wrap the crispy rolls. They were really sparse about that. For my main entrée I had the Pad See You with shrimp. The protein cost me an extra eight dollars for a total of $30 for the dish. A bit pricey in my opinion, although it was quite tasty. The fried banana and ice cream was good however I wish there had been more of it. The service was really good too. It's has a nice interior also. This establishment is worth patronizing. My friends got married and did a celebration dinner! They booked a private party and the restaurant had a private room in the back. There was at least 20+ people and we were able to fit comfortably. The ambiance was very warm and romantic with the lighting and decor. They also had a separate table for guests to put gifts or their bags at. The food were all on one side of the room and they were delicious! I didn't take note of every single food but it was good! The food is self serve. The only thing is that, they didn't give us bowls for the curry, but I guess you can pour the curry over rice haha. They also had servers that came around and took our drink orders and also refilled our water. The Thai tea was delicious and sweet. Our server was quick to get us settled with water, and the service throughout the night was amazing--very attentive and kept checking in to make sure we were doing great. There were a couple of errors in the orders but no big deal. The bartender, Christian, came out to the table to help with the drinks orders. Very helpful! Had reservations at 8 but when arrived was told we had to wait over 30 minutes for inside table or can be seated outside in slight cold and windy conditions. They said propane heaters were used to keep us warm but ours kept turning off every 15 minutes so I had to restart it myself entire night. Small flowers blew into our food and water which was tolerable because food was above average and it came out quickly. Flavors were on point and meats are tender to make the meal acceptable. Did have to ask for another water bottle cause staff member took one with flowers in it but never came back to replace it and believe our server forgot about us cause we had to ask staff member to ask for our check. Since then, I've been back a number of times with my partner, and the experience has consistently been much better, to the point where it has become one of our regular spots in WC. So, they have an amazing deal of $1.50 oysters Monday through Friday 3-6pm, and all day Tuesday! Prolly shouldn't be telling y'all this, I wouldn't want them to run out, but there you go, you're welcome. And the oysters are always fresh and nicely sized, they don't cheap out.
