Sang Sang feels new because of the new location, which is in a gorgeous newly renovated building, but my family has been eating here for years. The food has stayed consistently good through the change, and the space itself feels fresh, clean with some easy seating if you want to sit down instead of just grabbing takeout. The combo portions are perfect for my house. You get enough food to feel full, usually with some leftovers but not so much that it feels wasteful. Everything we've had has been hot, fresh, and reliable. I especially love the crab rangoons because they are PACKED with cream cheese. That is exactly how I like them, but a few people at our table thought they had a little too much filling, so I think that one really depends on your crab rangoon personality. We've had occasional mix ups when placing bigger family orders but they have always been kind and great about making things right, which matters a lot to us. Mistakes happen but how a place handles them says everything. Overall, this is one of those easy and dependable spots that keeps you coming back because the food tastes good and the people are nice. I ordered a 1/2 order of Crab Ragoon and Chow Fun. I added chicken to it. The Crab ragoons were crispy and the duck sauce was perfect. It was a nice start to the meal. Perfect timing as I fi ished my appetizer then the main course arrived. It was cooked promptly and with care. They are very mindful of waste by utilizing recyclable containers. It doesn't distract from the tasty food. The Chow fun noodles were served hot and the veggies were cooked perfectly. The chicken was very tender. The portions are amazing. This place change so much since they changed their name, (April/May 2026) I used to go there at least 2 times a week literally my favorite place so close to home super reasonable prices and big portions of food no issue at all never had a problem with the food or the quality of the food always good and fresh.. HOWEVER NOW after the change the food the service is just not the same the quality of the food is not the same it doesn't taste the same I've only been there 2 times since they changed the name and the food taste old and looks less appealing the quality the ingredients it's totally different literally nothing taste the same at all.. a complete disappointment! read more

I really like this restaurant because it has a drive thru. The prices are very reasonable. You can get a delicious, piping hot entree for less than a fast food meal! Their staff has been with them for a long time. Everyone is efficient & friendly. Now for the reason I am writing a review. It is the current egg drop soup recipe. They always had soup that was okay but I think they have changed how they make it. The broth is so rich & expertly seasoned. Absolutely delicious-the best I've had in years. I appreciate the food being hot & fresh, even by the time I get home. They aren't open on Sundays. Along with drive thru, they have dine-in, carryout and delivery. My husband wanted to order Chinese tonight and our usual place is closed on Mondays so we decided to give this place a try. I had it once several years back and remembered it being good, but unfortunately did not have as good of an experience this time. We got shrimp lo mein, vegetable lo mein, general Tso's chicken, egg rolls and crab rangoons. We both LOVE crab rangoons and usually fight over the last one, but this time we ended up throwing away the 4 (out of 6) that we didn't eat because they just tasted stale and had no crab flavor whatsoever. The egg rolls were a little better but also pretty stale. The broccoli with the chicken was brown and flavorless and the chicken, which was marked as *spicy* on the menu, had little flavor also. The lo mein was ok but nothing special and there were more giant chunks of onion than any other vegetable. Overall not at all worth the nearly $50 we spent in total. Next time my husband has a craving for Chinese, we'll wait until our favorite place is open. read more

I have a weakness for Chinese restaurants with a drive thru window. I was excited to give this place a try. They've cleaned up a lot since taking over from the Mexican restaurant that was here previously. It's pretty bare-bones, but that's ok by me. Food was smelling awesome while I waited for take out. I went inside this time since it's my first visit. I'm excited to see they have homemade sauces, including hot mustard. The sweet and sour is pretty thin, but the taste is good. The hot mustard will tear your face off, so it is just right. Their crab rangoon are awesome. I also had Cashew Chicken. It was tasty, but heavy on the celery and a little light on the water chestnuts. I got a big piece of ginger at the end which left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I'd have preferred fried rice over white rice, but I forgot to ask if fried rice was an option. I just returned from the Philippines and the last thing I want is another scoop of white rice, so I passed on that. Overall, I got a huge meal for less than $10. I'll be back. read more

Typically while leaving reviews I always like to point out the good and bad. We ordered take out here prior to quarentine and I didn't eat more than a bite of each dish. One of my friends came in from out of tiwn a few weeks after that and tried to surprise us with chinese food. (He knows i normally love chinese.) Once again it was terrible. The only thing anybody really ate was the dumplings. . I understand food prefence is different but I'm honestly surptised how many people enjoy this food. Me and my husband came here for some lunch. He got the cashew chicken and some crab Rangoons and I got brisket pho with beef balls. The vegetables in the cashew chicken weren't cooked all the way and were very crunchy. The crab Rangoons tasted like pure cream cheese with no crab. I moved to KC/Shawnee area 5 months ago and have been looking for a really good Chinese restaurant. I found it here, at Sang Sang! I had a hard time finding a place that was good AND a good value. Im so glad I stopped by there. This will be my Go-To-Chinese spot from now on! The fried rice had plenty of chicken in it and the dumplings were steam/fried to perfection!
