Our party of three each ordered something different and we were all delighted. The only room for improvement would be the fried rice but it was good enough to order again. Family owned neighborhood Chinese restaurant. They have been here for a long time but this is my first time here. Dinner meal about $13 for appetizer, soup and entree. You can't beat that. 1st of all we didn't receive the entire menu. No idea why. It did mean we got a lot less food for the money. Food got was good not great. Jasmine Garden was a super easy chinese takeout spot with easy parking right out front. You do have to pull off of a busy road straight into the lot, but it's easy to find in the strip of stores and there were plenty of spaces. By the time I grabbed our food and headed back out, the front spots had already opened up again. We did two lunch specials for around $20 total, which feels like a steal for how much food you get and how good it was. We ordered the Chicken with Cashew and the General Tso's lunch specials, both came with soup and a side. The cashew chicken was seriously incredible. A lot of places overload this dish with veggies until it turns into chaos, but this one was balanced with the right mix of ingredients and is easily one of my new favorites in KC. Only bummer: hardly any cashews. Still delicious, but I wanted a little more cashew love. Crab rangoons were hot and crispy with a solid filling even after a bit of a drive home. The fried rice had great flavor, and the steamed white rice was bouncy and soft, not that kind with crispy dry edges. Both soups were spot on, and THANK YOU for including wonton strips. A lot of places skip them and it really can make or break egg drop soup for me. General Tso's had great flavor, but the chicken pieces were a little big and it wasn't very spicy, even though we didn't order it no spicy. Not a dealbreaker, just something to know if you want that classic kick. Inside is clean and cute with tables for about 8 to 10 small groups, the front desk is toward the back, and everyone was kind and helpful. Ordered delivery and it all arrived piping hot. Asked for the lunch chicken Pad Thai to be mild spicy and it had flavor but no spice, which was ok. Lunch chicken Fried Rice was good, like that they don't over load it with weird vegetables. It's simple but tasty. I recently moved to the Overland Park area and go a lot to the Hamu Bakery next door for their Taiwanese pastries. The stumbled onto this Chinese restaurant. My go to dishes are the Beef Chow Fun and Singapore Rice Noodles. I tried the Singapore Rice Noodles and the curry was perfectly strong and flavorful, just the way it should be. I then noticed the sell frozen homemade dumplings with various stuffing, ranging from $ 10-$15 for 20 dumplings. Definitely going to purchase some. We were very impressed, and the prices were affordable. Only two small improvements I could suggest--have descriptions of the various dishes, so patrons know which vegetables are included in each dish. And larger water glasses would be nice. I ordered something not on the menu (shrimp egg foo young), which they were able to do because it wasn't busy. All of our food came out quick, hot, and delicious. First time I ordered general tsao chicken and egg rolls. Husband ordered Szechuan chicken. Egg rolls good. General tsao was awful. My husband really liked his and loved how much food we got. So the next week was craving Chinese again and husband wanted to order from here again. I was hopeful that maybe my bad meal was a fluke and this time would be better. I ordered same thing. Egg rolls good. Everything else was awful. Ordered fried rice instead of white rice to go with the chicken. It tasted like rice was stale and had no flavor. Terrible.
