Simple service that was going to take 45 minutes turned into a four hour marathon! Lousy service and lousy Dealership!

It's rare to find a dealership that treats you well, respects you as a person, and gives you a decent deal on a car. For that reason, I drove nearly 120 miles to Sangera Subaru. I had been searching for a 2017 WRX in White Pearl, CVT and with eyesight, and they had one. I called and was met with an easy going guy named Thomas Owen. I told him that I was looking for this one, that I had been given a price from another dealership, and wanted to see if they would beat the deal. He did. Thomas was easy to work with, not pushy, not standoffish and all in all helpful. They understood what I was looking for and gave me what I was asking for. What more can I say other than treat as they are, people like you and me, and they will do the same for you. I will definitely take the drive up here again if i'm in the market for another Subaru. I went today for an oil change, new tires and the Starlink update. Knowing I come from out of town, I got a loaner car for free with gas and they were done in three hours which was awesome. I drive a lot for work and I've visited many Subaru Service centers from California to Texas and this location is the best in the country hands down! Sangera Subaru has always gone the extra mile for me and my car for 3 years. My car was recently due for a check up and I had Midas do an inspection a day before I stopped in the shop. Midas gave me a grocery list of things my car needed changed. I visited Sangera Subaru the next day and spoke with Alice. She had a technician run a full inspection on my car and suggested 2 of the 8 repairs the Midas technician suggested. I could have easily dropped a grand at Midas if I didn't price shop. Alice set me up with an appointment, gave me a loaner and kept me posted on the repair timeline. Excellent customer service. I visited on Friday for a basic service on my Subaru Outback They had set up seating outside as well as inside. I chose outside ( in a comfy patio with umbrella set up) & not only did my service advisor (Stephen) go over and beyond to keep me informed as well as make me feel comfortable during my wait, multiple Subaru staff came by to offer water, face masks, checking in to see if I was doing ok. This review is for the service department. I was visiting my parents and had a short window to have my car serviced. The service department squeezed me in for a cvt flush, front and rear differential services. Not only was it done in a couple hours but the final cost came in lower than the original. I'm most impressed by the friendliness and professionalism from the employees. Esmeralda and Steve were the two associates I worked closest with, hats off to both of them for being thorough and welcoming. What a waste of time. They have a car that the wife wants that's been sitting on the lot for 2+ months and they won't even match the price with a car in my area that is better except for the color. I was even going to finance through them which would have given them a kickback from the finance company. Glad they are making enough money that they can turn away business. If this is how they respond to me trying to give them money imagine how they respond when they make a mistake during service. This review is for the service department. My back side window was smashed and I called Sangera to ask how much to be replaced. They said $286 plus tax. So, I made the appointment to have it replaced with the total being just over $300. I asked verbally and via email to please make sure it's tinted to match the other windows. When the car was picked up for me (I was out of town), not only was it not tinted, but they charged an additional $217 for labor without telling me about this additional cost. So, they charged me over $500 for a small window, did not tint it and did not even bother to remove the glass pieces. I'll be getting a new car next month and will be buying it somewhere else thanks to this crappy service. read more

So I bought my car here and I couldn't have been happier with how I was treated by the sales staff they were amazing and helpful I was treated as a priority and the time I spent at the dealership was less than 2 hours for the purchase. The reasons I am only giving them 2 stars is because when I scheduled my first oil change with them I picked the first appointment of the day at 8 am, thinking this would make its faster and easier. I was very wrong, I showed up at 750 and the gates were still locked. Someone finally unlocked them at 805 then i went to the service center and was the first car there two other vehicles showed up pretty soon after i did. Finally at 815 someone came out to help us, the other cars were helped first so they finally got to me, who's they would call or text when it was ready, i came back at 945, after calling and texting my service advisor and getting no response, thinking it would be close to done but no. I was told it would take another 30 minutes at least and if I wanted the complimentary car wash it would take at least another hour. I decided to wait for it to ready. They finally texted at 1045 to say it was ready, I returned and still had no actual contact with my service provider. The receptionist/ cashier was very nice and apologetic when she rang me up and handed me my keys. I am very disappointed with the service department and probably will not return. read more

Wish I could give this place a no star, discrimination, bad customer service, and bad updates. I would not recommend anyone buy a car from this location. they said I was approved for a car, made me drive 3 hours to the dealership, only to tell me that they could not sell me a car. Horrible resolving skills, all they did was give me $25 in gas. If anything, all they did was make my credit lower, and most importantly wasted my time. My dad who was with me tried to ask them questions and they refused to answer his questions completely. Not only did they waste my time, but they also wasted my dad's time. Jaysun and his manager helped me and both of them were horrible help, no help at all to be exact. Hope this review helps people wanting to buy a car from this location. I drove over 100 miles to go to this dealership specifically because they had a car that no other dealership in Southern California had. I built my car and had it delivered. It came in sooner than I expected and they were willing to meet with me in the evening to deliver the car to me, even though this meant getting home a little later to their own lives. Craig in finance was delightful and a real crack up. All in all this purchase took me two hours which is less time than any other car purchase I have made. This review is for the Sales Department. Salesman: Max Pierce I live in Mammoth Lakes, CA so I had the added challenge of purchasing a used Suburu via long distance. I did tons of research and had found other cars that I was interested in. One dealer lied about the title of a car saying it had a clear title. I have a friend in the business who can run the VIN on any car and find out more than CarFax shows. The title was not clear on that car! It had been stolen, damaged and had a branded title. So after a few experiences like this I found the 2-yr old Outback at Sangera. I did my research on the car and it's value and was asking for A LOT of money off their asking price. I kid you not, my negotiation with Max took 3 minutes! He didn't put me through the torture of the back and forth dealership nightmare. When I was on the 5-hour drive to Bakersfield the next day I was so afraid something fishy was going on because it was all so easy. But Max stood by the price, had the car ready for me and couldn't have been more kind. He even let me bring my dog into the dealership and charged my cell phone (I forgot my charger). This Dealership talks a good game, but fails to deliver. I own a 2020 Subaru Ascent. I got a notice from the Dealer that there was a Federally mandated safety related recall for my vehicle, and that it was important to come in for repairs ASAP. When I came in for my next service they informed me that they did not have the "repair kits" necessary to resolve the recall issue. Months went by until I finally got an Email that the repair kits were in, and please bring the car in ASAP for the recall repairs. Took the car in for the recall repairs, and they essentially blew me off. "No time to make my repairs"; "Just make an appointment a couple of weeks later, when it was convenient for the Dealership!" Really??? Is this representative of the vaunted Subaru Customer Service??? What about Subaru's alleged reputation for attention to "safety matters"??? Non-existent in my case. Subaru as a company, and this Dealership in particular, have totally failed me in resolving their own defect! read more

Edit: Called service department to ask about an issue with the outback, eye sight sensor is most likely out. She was very short with me and said it takes half a day for a diagnostic. I saw Subaru pull up twice for the same search, so I will try to post to both. Review for service department: A little strange to drive to the Mercedes-Benz service for a 2015 outback. Appointment was confusing, they give you a name of a service writer who was busy the first and second service. Then they look around because they don't want to really help, since you have an appointment with someone else. Then a different service writer helps, but tells you that you are really with someone else. You get no info, just sign and find the waiting room. Waiting room is 4 stars, coffee, tea, cookies, tvs, old school things called newspapers, magazines and comfy chairs. I didn't see any rooms for kids. The wait, apparently an appointment for a 3k then a 6k service takes over 2:30 hours. They send you a text to update you, but it wasn't correct. With the last text to tell you it is finished and waiting, you have to go find a service writer you never met. Who has no info and gets confused when you ask about Internet coupons. You also can't pay early to speed up the process, even for a routine service. Car was not ready, waited 5 minutes for them to drive it up, 10 min. on the second visit. Car was half washed the first time, dirt on the roof. Washed better the second, but the seats were dirty, I cleaned them at home. Odd review/follow up, both times the service writers called and begged for a 10 star review and that it would reflect on them as an individual. First service follow up call, subaru called to tell me I missed my appointment and asked me to reschedule. This was the day after my 3k oil change, mind you that it was a 2 and a half hour oil change. 2 1/2 stars, picked the 2, because I don't really want to go back. I was hoping that they would do a quick engine area detail like they did at Chevy, but no deal, dusty engine. Sadness, figured the Benz service would have been A+++. I hear that they are opening a new service department for subaru soon, let's hope they can work out the kinks. Trying not to go back here for now, I will just get service at a local lube shop. read more

Persistence and fairness are two words that I have to describe my experience with Max Pierce of Sangera Subaru! I've been talking to four different dealerships up and down the California coast for the car that I was looking for - 1 took 2 weeks to reply, another was too preoccupied with other goings on at his dealership that he couldn't focus on the task at hand (selling ME a vehicle), and one more who just didn't have the inventory.
