This was the worst experience I've had at *any * dealership. As an out of town traveler, they didn't have the courtesy, or class, denoting a Mercedes dealership, to provide a Lyft to a hotel that was literally about 2 miles down the road (as this was an overnight repair). Even the Lyft driver was shocked that I had to order the vehicle myself, as all the other dealerships have the decency to get one for the customer. I don't foresee the need to ever return to that dealership, and if I were to breakdown in Bakersfield again, I'd rather contact another automotive shop. read more

We have an older Subaru Forester that we purchased used. But we love it and try to take care of it. Subaru contacted us and let us know there was a recall on our airbag so my husband reached out to Nick at Sangera and he was great with him and accommodating with my husband's schedule....then here's where it gets better...we got our car home and my mom went to adjust the AC vent and it wasn't there...it had kinda fallen into the dash...it wasn't like that when we took it in...then I was driving around town and a client said you have a daylight running light out....what!!!! So I call them back again!!! Nick to the rescue...Ana took care of me when I arrived and between the two of them and the great techs we were back on the road all systems fixed...one was a lightbulb that decided it needed to burn out...they fixed it for us...even though they weren't to blame...and the other well we won't place blame because they took great care of us...in this day and age it's hard to find good customer care and I like to blast it when I receive it so here it is...this company is very customer oriented and I will come back. I was traveling through Bakersfield (from out of state) on my way to Sacramento when suddenly my check engine light came on and it started running rough. I called Sangera Bakersfield, and they told me to bring it in immediately, which I did. Turns out I had a bad cylinder, which is major (12-hour job), and could not finish my trip. However, I HAD to be in Sacramento that night, but my car could not be repaired until 48 hours later. My service advisor, Jarred, brought in the service manager, Bill Smith, who was amazingly friendly and a problem solver. He went ABOVE & BEYOND to get me a loaner and also arranged to have someone meet me more than halfway (to Sacramento) to swap out cars. I don't know of any other dealership that would have done that! I bought my Mercedes in N. CA, but I will consider buying my next one from Sangera Bankersfield becasue of this experience. One star for the service adviser who really care but has limitations as per the instructions given . I was there for my car key not working fully and it was not locking the doors. I was quoted a price for check up with the statement that the coast will go towards repair . I bought the key last September which means it was under warranty period. So they told me there is water on your key so that is why it is not working but then why 2/3 functions were working ? I paid for the new key under the impression that this is the final bill but I was so wrong and they added another 179 dollar for the dignostic . Really how much money you want from your customers ? Why not help your long time customer who bought a new key last September paying over 400 dollars ? Why not at least try to get the key replaced or make it clear that you will have to pay more despite being told that the diagnostic cost will go towards repairs ? I am really very disappointed and I know it is not going to change a bit in their business principles. But I am not going there any more I am so glad I bought Lexsus instead of Mercedes. Really disappointed. The service adviser is one of the best I have seen at many places & feel bad she has to go through unhappy customers like me everyday . read more

Do not take your car there for service, at least if it is a Volvo! Took out Volvo there for a tire rotation and upon picking up our car and driving away a loud humming noise was coming from the front tires. I took the car back to Sangera and asked why the car`s tires were humming. They said the tires had cupping. I asked why they didn`t tell me about this at all and why they just let me drive off with the tires that way. They were also going to charge me for the rotation after I told them to rotate the tires back to their original position. They gave me a quote for new tires and told me the quote was for the EXACT same tires I currently had on the car. When I asked to see the quote the tires were general tires and not the ones I currently had on my car. Flat out lied to me about that! Stay away from this place for all of your maintenance needs or be prepared to be lied to. read more

The worst service ive had from anyone ive taken my car to. The service advisor Irene looked to be having a bad day and no help at all. quoted me a very high price for my vehicle but assured me that I had a warranty so that was just the cost for repair if the warranty didn't cover. She never mentioned the I would have to pay a diagnostic fee or $189 for each item looked at. I explained that usually a diagnostic is to check everything in relation to the issue and since it was electrical that system should be covered but nope. I then spoke with the service manager Brian who also said that the fees were correct and since the warranty only covered 1 item because the others weren't made by Subaru. I told her a regular customer wouldn't know where each component is made and that a warranty for a vehicle is just that, a warranty for the vehicle to be repaired. After a bit of back and fourth he said he could only give me a 20% discount because I'm not a everyday customer which I explained I haven't had any issues with my vehicle, why would I pay to go in? I told him ive bought two vehicles from them and was getting ready to trade in for a 3rd. He said well that's all he can do since I wasn't an everyday customer. I had to pay $400 from my repair with warranty which was for the diagnostics and the $100 deductible, makes absolutely no sense. It's like buying a warranty for the tv and the warranty not covering the screen because that tv company didn't make it. Please don't ever do business with them and if you do make sure to get what the warranty will cover in writing because that is so crooked to do business like that, especially from a so called supervisor with no people skills. read more

The inside is not aesthetically pleasing and the parking lot is close for larger vehicles but navigable. The service personnel were cordial and clear on work needed and the pricing. So here is another updated service work done with Sangera Volvo. Two weekends ago, as usual, we drove to San Gabriel saturday morning. I drove the 2007 Volvo V70R. As we go up the grapevine, I notice the car lacks power. We get to San Gabriel eventually. I also notice the gas consumption is much higher. I driven this car to San Gabriel often enough to know. The mpg calculator shows 25.5 while in the past it should have been 28.5-29.0 mpg. We left on sunday afternoon. I then notice the temperature gauge is not functioning. The drive home was uneventful, no traffic. I could still feel the lack of power and lower than normal mpg. We get home and the mpg for the whole trip was 24.5, it should be about 28.5. I took my car to my regular mechanic to have him diagnose what the possible problem might be. He checked the car temperature and it showed the proper temperature at 190F. My mechanic thinks the computer in the car is sensing the engine to be cold. He then tells me to take it to Sangera since he does not have the proper instrument / tools to diagnose the issue. When I got home I did further research on different Volvo forums and found out more than likely this is a software update issue. I made an appointment this morning to have the work done. I also brought with me a $100 discount voucher for service or repair work. I explained to the service rep the issue and also advised what I have read on the internet on the possible issue. I got quoted $114.00 and I told them I was going to wait for the car. After 45 minutes, the service rep comes out and tells me the software indeed needs an upgrade to fix the issue. She also said the service was now going to be $197.00. I approxed for the work to be done thinking with the discount voucher, this was going to cost me $97.00. Wrong! I was wrong. When it was time to pay, I brought out the coupon. The cashier calls the service rep and she scolded me that I should have informed her prior to work being done. I told her I did not know this was the protocol, I just looked at the coupon to make sure it was valid. She leaves and tells me she has to discuss this with her manager. She comes back to let me know the best she can do is $40 discount since I did not advise of the coupon prior to work done. Well, Sangera Volvo - the only time I will reluctantly take my car again to you is when there is a factory recall. I will try and use Rusnak Volvo instead. read more

I took my 2006 Volvo S60 R in to have the springs and sways changed. What should have taken 4-8 hours to do... ended up taken them 4 days to figure out. I also noticed the first night I received the car back that the headlights were facing down. Being that the "R' model has a 4C system that tends to effect the headlight motor if unplugged with power, I knew I had to take it back in to have the headlights recalibrated. I took it in the next day to have Sangera fix the problem. The Shop tech took it in and then came out and tried to BS me saying it was the Fuel Pump Modulator affecting the headlights. He didn't say the FPM, but he popped the trunk and pointed to it, thinking I wouldn't know what it was. It took them another day to resolve the headlight calibrations. Few days later, after the springs settled in, I noticed a grinding noise coming from the front right strut tower. Took it in and had the Sangera techs take a look at it. When they couldn't figure out the problem, I end up taking the car to the dealership in Irvine. The Volvo dealership in Irvine said it was a messed up bearing from when the shop did the spring / sway bar replacement. I returned to Sangera only to hear how the Service manager voided the work done on the car because I went to Irvine, to have them diagnose the problem. I went to the Irvine location because it was across the street from Volvo of North America's Corporate office and the Irvine location gets a lot of help out of that office. I've since found the South Bay Volvo and Irvine locations to be best for Warranty work and Zen Volvo in North Hollywood to be a great private shop. I haven't tried another shop in Bakersfield, but I defiantly won't be going to Sangera ever again. Terrible shop knowledge. read more

There was a lot of communication via email to confirm specs, ETA, etc., and everything was very straightforward. She offered to ship it to me, but I wanted to pick it up and drive it home :) When I went to get the car, I was in and out of the dealership within 2 hours. I cannot express how pleasant my experience with Jennifer and Sangera MB of Bakersfield was. I went in for my first lease on a semi-impulse jus to see the CLS in person. I was greeted by Jennifer, who very enthusiastically showed me around the lot. She was very knowledgeable and allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed to. I was NEVER pressured into anything. She even offered to let me test drive the AMD GT-4 Door, which I was semi-considering, but I did not want to damage such a beautiful car :), so she took me around the block. Afterwards, we spoke some more (about an hour total time) and I left to think about my options. I wanted to get rid of my current car. She told me where to go to get my current car appraised, which I appreciated greatly. I ended up taking her advice. I came back a week later, ready to lease. They did not have the car that I wanted on the lot, but after I had specced out the car I wanted, Jennifer scoured the MB dealership network to find a car close to what I wanted so that I would not have to wait to have the car built. She found two examples very close to what I wanted and actually cheaper than what I specced in less than 24 hours. :) Jennifer then worked with the awesome Finance Manager to get the lease approved. She even offered to pick the car up herself and drive it back to Bakersfield for me. I cannot applaud Jennifer and Sangera enough. What started as an infatuation with the CLS has become a reality through the hard work and always with a smile of Jennifer. In a word, they are wonderful. read more

I kept my car for 2 months w/o driving it, because I waited for the new CLA.On 6/9/14 I was on my way to pick-up the car, when I got there they changed the amount of money I have to put down.They said $4,500 $635 monthly payments. When I'm ready to get the vihicle, they want $5,800. I didn't get the car, and I was late for my flight in Chicago. I slept at the airport in Chicago, because I missed my connecting flight. Originally I was denied in this dealer. I came back and the guy named Surinder didn't believe me that I got approved in Foothill Ranch and Thousands Oaks. I brought my Mercedes-Benz, and he still saying dealers in LA usually let customer have the car even though they're not approved. Not true!! I believe that Sangera is weak when it comes to communicating in the Mercedes-Benz Financial Personell.How I got approved in other dealers and was DENIED in Bakersfield? Btw I was approved to get an M4 originally I was DENIED to get 428i. I have to do trade in to get it.Without trade in I can only get 3 series. I went in LA I got approved for any car.It seems to me that LA is the best place to go and buy car.ONLY if you're wanting new car.I got my Mercedes-Benz just $750 from Thousands Oaks. The 4matic in Sangera that I was crazy about causing me to got stranded in Chicago (I almost got in jail for refusing to give the homeless people blanket that they provide at the airport.I was freezing to death.My luggage was checked in.I have to wake up at 3am while I didn't got any sleep. The airport was still closed). The service done on my Subaru was far from good Rotated all tires and replace one of those, but they didn't balanced or aligned the tires afterwards My car is pulling to whatever side and is not stable... After calling them so they could fix my car.. They told me I had to pay $137 for the alignment... Whatever I completed a very disappointed consumer review and received a called afterwards to schedule an appointment to get the car fixed for free! Why do I have to complain in order for them to do a good job? Very disappointing they would do such a poor service... I'm not servicing my car outside of Colorado again... I came here to bring my moms car for service last week and was unpleasantly surprised by the girl at the front desk. She was very rude, had no personality or people skills. She has no business being in a customer service position and you would think a business would want the face of their company to be someone who actually gives a heck about making their customers feel welcome. Apparently not. I didn't catch her name and didn't want to interrupt her- whatever she was doing on her phone seemed more compelling than what was going on around her, and she had wireless headphones on so who was I to interrupt but she had blondish silver hair. So if you see her sitting at the front desk don't even bother with the pleasantries, she's more worried about her phone than providing customer service. We felt we got a good price and it was the fastest service I've ever had buying a vehicle (didn't take all day - we were in and out quickly). Our Volvo XC60 with 19,850 miles was towed to Sanger on Mon. 10-2. They determined the cause to be a fouled spark plug, but after a test drive the engine failed again. Alice, the Volvo on-site rep informed us the vehicle was under warranty and they would take care of it. There is only One (1) licensed Volo tech on site and they needed to contact corporate .Also since we did not have a California license she could not provide a loaner car and we had to pay for our own rental? As of Friday, 10-6 there has been ZERO reply or update from Alice @ Volvo - Sangera Auto Group. John from Mercedes @ Sangera has responded to texts with minimal information. Poor communication, under staffed, terrible customer service. Think twice prior to giving them your business!! read more
