Fantastic food. Great place to get together with family and friends. Lively atmosphere.

Sangria's has been a go-to for us for years for good tapas and sangria, but we've now had issues on our last two visits, and this most recent one was especially frustrating. The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. The food was extremely salty and overcooked. We ordered 6 different tapas and none were really edible. Empanadas were beyond salty, the calamari was so hard and chewy, I couldn't bite through it. The croquettes were hard on the outside and the filling had an odd taste. I wish it were better, there are few good tapas places around. I would not return. read more

So good! We were passing through town, looking for a spot for dinner, and so glad we happened upon this place. Ordered family style to try as many dishes as we could. Highlights were the octopus, which was cooked perfectly and super tender, patatas bravas, and churrasco, but the absolute star was the gambas al ajillo. The shrimp were delicious, and I could've drank a quart of the sauce, it was so good! I definitely recommend adding an order of churros for dessert--it comes with a chocolate dipping sauce that's so decadent and rich. Went for the first time with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day dinner. Reservation was for two and was super easy to get a few days ahead of time on Yelp. We ordered the Croquetas de Jamón, Patatas Bravas, Churrasquito, and Calamares Frito, along with a Sangria Flight and later a Sangria Glass (white peach). The total for our order was 81 before tax and tip. The serving sizes were large, and we ended up taking half the Croquetas, Patatas Bravas, and a third of the Calamares frito home (we ate as part of lunch the next day: they reheated in the oven just fine). Of the four Tapas we ordered, the Churrasquito was definitely our favorite. The taste and texture were both perfect and the serving size was great. My girlfriend preferred the Calamares Frito more while I preferred the Croquetas, and we both really liked the Patatas Bravas. The aioli sauce that came with a lot of the food was pretty good too. The Sangria Flight and white peach Sangria were great. This was my girlfriend and I's first time trying Sangria and the flight was a great way to sample different flavors. We both fell in love with the white peach sangria and decided to order a glass to share. The service was perfect: the waiters were friendly, attentive, and helpful with questions, and the food arrived quickly. There is restroom access and we were provided with plenty of water, along with metal utensils wrapped in a large black napkin. The Tapas were served in small plates and we ate straight from them but we were also given our own empty plates. The ambiance was also really nice. There's a bar with TVs playing sports for those interested in a quicker, more casual experience. We were seated at a table along the wall opposite the bar. The vibe of the restaurant was very pleasant and I am very happy with my choice for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner. I will definitely be returning again in the future to try more Tapas and have more amazing experiences! read more

If you go here for any reason just go for the Sangria flight. Sangria is my fav drink and I've never seen a flight. Such a great idea. I liked the blood orange so much that I ordered a full sized drink. The food was amazing as well. I got the Shrimp, garlic, sherry wine sauce, grilled bread which was sooo good. The portions were a lot so I had leftovers for lunch. My better half had the paella and it was packed with seafood. He said it was the best paella he's ever had. We will be back ! read more

At first glance, this restaurant at a strip mall doesn't look like much, but it's quite lovely inside. There is beautiful artwork, nice decor, and inviting ambiance. I had a hard time deciding what to order, but finally went with the Double Pork Chop, served with green zucchini and yellow squash, along with manchego mashed potatoes. This was pretty good, and the pork chop was full of great flavor, but was on the tough side and somewhat dry. The veggies were cooked nicely and fresh. I enjoyed the creamy soft mashed potatoes, as the manchego cheese really shined though. In addition, I got to try the Pan seared fish filet, which came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. This was presented beautifully with a generous portion of the white fish. The fish was flaky, succulent, and well seasoned. Brussel sprouts were tasty, but mashed potatoes were bland to me. For dessert, I got the Chocolate Molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream. I was disappointed by this because the size was tiny, and there wasn't enough melting chocolate in the center. I actually preferred my friend's Bread Pudding, which was made with apples, oranges, walnuts, warm caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream. It was unique, but the ingredients worked well together. The vanilla ice cream was a boring addition. Service was decent. The prices were a little high. I don't think I would return even if I'm in the area. read more

I started with a Cellini which was like a peach Bellini and was delicious. We then had the bread with Olive oil. I had the skirt steak with roasted Brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes. The steak was medium well and grilled just right. Many times establishments don't get medium well right but they got it perfect. It was delicious and savory. Wonderful dinner with amazing service at this great Mahwah spot! If you don't live in the area, it is well worth the trip. Ample parking and great for groups! We ordered a few tapas and some beers. The restaurant was as always busy and loud. Many voices having a good time, but noylt overwhelming that you had to yell at your tablemate or strain yourself to hear them. The food , beautifully plated and always delicious. 02.11.2023 I came here for a valentines dinner, and it was packed on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm! We made a reservation a week in advance and it worked out well. The atmosphere was so boisterous; everyone was talking and it was hard to hear, but all the noise is from the chatter! The restaurant didn't even have music on that night; I felt like I transported to a different space within a second! We decided to skip the entrees and just do the tapas for the night! We got the most popular ones: Carne Con Pure (skirt steak), Albondigas (lamb meatballs), Tostones Sangria (plantains with chorizo), beef empanadas, and Patatas Bravas (potatoes). Five tapas was enough for me and my boyfriend (my appetite is small). The food was good, but it wasn't out of the world. It was definitely more like American food, still really good though! We also got a sangria and their cheesecake :) the cheesecake was soufflé and so fluffy! I loved it (but I'm definitely a Cheesecake Factory cheesecake girl). I rarely rate a restaurant five stars at lunch time, but Sangria was unexpectedly wonderful. Why, you might ask? Well, it's located in a strip mall. But don't let that discourage you. The decor is 'minimalistic rustic' with wall art that reminds you it's a Spanish dining establishment. I always welcome a variety of smaller plates on the menu and Sangria does this exceptionally well with a plethora of tapas that will tempt every taste bud you have. Plus a nice selection of full dinner options. But let's start with their signature drink ... Sangria. We ordered a carafe of the Blood Orange variety and it was both delicious and refreshing. A winner. Highly recommended! We decided on a selection of tapas (and believe me, it was really hard to pick only a few!). Each one was better than the next. From grilled octopus to lamb meat balls to shrimp and avocado ceviche to grilled shrimp and chorizo ... plus a magnificent charcuterie platter that covered all the bases. There was enough food to bring some home for a future snack and no room for coffee or dessert. But we will be back, for the full course, when we're next in the area. We had some tapas, although we were not quite familiar with what to order. We knew empanadas so we ordered them, which were quite good. Also ordered the octopus because we were curious about it. Actually quite tasty. There was a fillet mignon tapas, but it was the size of a half dollar propped up on a couple of slices of potato. Not worth it. Service was not fantastic, but I understand that Spanish dining is usually pretty slow. It would have been nice if the server took more time in trying to find out what we would like. We explained that it was our first time there and that we were not that familiar with tapas. The place was charming but noisy. We had a glass of red sangria for $11 each which was fairly good and a generous amount. The best bet would be to examine the menu selections and photos. The beef empanadas were flavorful and came with a nice sweet chili sauce. We got the salomillo con queso which is not actually a queso but was delicious. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The lamb meatballs were delicious but a bit too bready. Similarly, the cod croquetas were so good and crispy but too doughy. The bacon wrapped scallops were a tad overcooked. We got the gambas a ajillo but because we added chorizo it didn't come with broth, which was disappointing. The Tapas and service was great! When we arrived we could tell they were busy but we had a reservation! Once we were sat the waiter gave us warning that they were understaffed which I always appreciate! We started with a blood orange sangria and a lemon drop martini. The blood orange martini wasn't great and tasted nothing like blood orange. The lemon drop martini tasted like a regular martini with lemon squeezed in it .. not terrible but not the usual. We had 6 different tapas that were all AMAZING! - Pulpo basque, which is octopus slices on potato's, tasty and not over cooked! - Albondigas, lamb meatballs, these were amazing, the star of the show! - Churrasquito, skirt steak pieces on roasted potato's, very tasty as well, loved the garlic pieces. - Beef Empanadas, the sweet chili sauce ... out of this world. I would put that on anything! Please bottle and sell it!! - Patatas Bravas, potato's with a tomato aioli, so good! Took me right back to a small restaurant in Spain. - Croquetas de Jamón, fried ham and chicken with aioli, these weren't my favorite. For dessert we had the churros which were fantastic! We also had a molten lava cake .... Again not for me. There was no molten lava in the cake, it was so dry which was impressive due to how much chocolate was poured on the little cake. I did ask if there was meant to be a molten center and was told "not really, it melts into the cake" which is not what any other molten cake I've ever had does .... Stick to the churros! read more

Great place for a double date! It was very busy when we walked in but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated for our 730 reservation. They had good quick service all night which was great. We chose to get flights of sangria and then ended up finishing with a carafe of the White peach. Between the 4 of us we ordered 8 tapas plates which gave us a good variety of things to try. Made a reservation for table for two on a Saturday evening. Upon arrival, we were left standing at host stand for a solid 5 min before anyone spoke to us. We then were escorted to our table which was located in center aisle with tables on both sides(all 4 of the center tables were empty) in addition to a few along the wall. After requesting a table by the wall, we were seated and within 5 minutes the staff who sat us told us that we had to move to another table. He had a party of four standing behind him.
