Enjoyed the grand Re-Opening of this local gem! The space is the same lovely classic interior with dark accents. The bartenders were friendly and prepared delicious cocktails. Since this was an event we didn't try their menu but rather the complimentary offerings which were very good especially the fresh shrimp cocktail! Looking forward to returning.

First time at El Cid last night and let me say, it blew me away. The service was first class and the food was phenomenal. Come hungry because the portions are huge. Can't recommend giving this place a try enough. The manager (I think his name is Rob) checked in on us multiple times and was very welcoming and friendly.

Food (4.1) Service (4.3) Ambiance (3.9) We enjoyed the meal. We started with the Shrimp in Garlic which was good. Average sized shrimp in a nice butter sauce, went well with their fresh bread. We shared the Mariscada in Green sauce and the Filet Mignon. The Mariscada (fish/clam/muscle stew) was good but I have had better. The shrimp were the same, average sized where I would like to have seen large, over 1" shrimp. The lobster meat was chewy and after some effort I gave up and left some on the side of my dish. The claw was tender as they always are. The sauce was very similar to what they used for the shrimp in garlic sauce, still very nice along with their fresh bread. I am not a meat fan but must say their Filet Mignon was fabulous. Very tender and fairly priced for a large piece that can easily feed 2 average people. We split one between 4 of us along with 2 fish dishes which was perfect. The service was very good, almost too good. They visit very often to ensure water glasses are filled and dirty dishes are removed. One time they didn't return with the a shell dish so we waived them down. The location has been through various establishments, I couldn't get "Nichols Alley" out of mind since the rooms have not changed from that classic pub which lived there for many years. The ambiance is nice, appropriate for any semi-formal event yet you will feel comfortable in any attire. They have the same popular bar area from earlier establishments, with what looked like very well crafted drinks. I was not drinking this evening but the ladies said the Red Sangria was very good. We would return.

Pretty solid all around, the steak tips were nicely cooked, the sauce was good had a nice balance of spice and earthiness (great for bread dipping). For my main I got the paella , the rice was so good , loaded with garlic. The dish was filled with seafood, most of which was overcooked unfortunately. The muscles were also very small. The lobster was the best part and was cooked to perfection, and tasted great.

El Cid is back and better than ever! Friendly and attentive service! The food is absolutely delicious! We ordered the lobster tails and bone in ribeye, both cooked to perfection! You can taste the quality! Loved the Spanish chips and rice with veggies! Sooo good!

This a very family cozy restaurant, the service is great the food is excellent , it's a little pricey but they give you a lot for the price , I couldn't fished all, delicious sea food . I have been coming here for many years . It's was closed for few years because the pandemic but now they reopened and still so good , I strongly recommend.

The portion sizes are huge, and the Prime Rib is hands-down the best in Bergen County -- always spot-on and never disappoints. The drinks are fantastic, and the sangria? I could drink it by the gallon! Can't wait to come back!

Paella Valenciana, Twin lobsters and Prime rib medium rare. Amazing delicious

Wife and I used to live in NJ and eaten at El CID on many occasions. We returned from FL just to re enjoy the reopening of EL CID. We read mixed reviews and higher prices like everything else has jumped . We arrived for early dinner and ordered our traditional Prime rib, twin lobsters (come with 3 lobsters) just like old days and paella Valenciana and fried potato chips. It was wonderful. Taste was perfect. Prime rib medium rare center cut cooked to perfection and taste. Lobsters were to die for. sweet succulent cooked perfectly. Paella was outstanding delicious. Relived a fantastic memory of fine Spanish cuisine at EL CID . Definitely won't be our last when we visit NY/NJ.

I ordered the paella. The seafood was fresh and tasty. The rice lacked the crispy bottom a paella should have. Service is excellent.

This vibrant culinary tapestry weaves together indigenous ingredients, European techniques, African traditions, and Asian influences to create some of the world's most exciting and diverse food experiences. For over the past two decades, these chefs have elevated traditional ingredients and techniques to new heights. We've passed this restaurant many times on a busy River Road in Fair Lawn and decided to stop in. Upon entering this warm and cozy interior without a reservation as first-timers, my partner and I managed to locate a table outside on this summer-like day. Juany's Cafe is a cozy, family-run establishment making a great impression as a place for brunch on locals and visitors. The owner is Peruvian, and the Mexican cook began in the kitchens of his homeland, known for its authentic Latin-inspired cuisine. We decided on the Latin bowl with marinated steak accompanied by black beans, sautéed veggies, avocado, and sweet plantains & Grilled Chicken Burritos with Sweet Potato Fries. Complimentary fruit salad started our meal. All ingredients were fresh, and the seasonings were unique with their bold flavors. There was a wait time for food as everything was homemade, made to order, and well presented. The prices were more than reasonable considering the quality of the food. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The service was a bit slow due to a large party group. Brunch is the norm here, but we can't wait to try it out for dinner.

I had the arepa special that came with a side salad and hubby had the huevos ranchero. The black beans were some of the best beans ive ever had. The arepas were pretty much perfect as well. The service was very good as well, with the owner coming to apologize after my order was very wrong and I received eggs Benedict instead of the arepa special. The restaurant is clean and the Latin inspired design is very pretty. Three kids meals and w adult ones and it came to about $100. Pricey for breakfast but I very much enjoy my food

We started with a Bloody Mary and one of my favorites, Coconut Mojito. Rumba's Bartenders always create amazing libations and these two followed suit. The entrees were: Picadillo Jinetero (Cuban-style ground beef hash, served "a caballo" (on horseback) with two fried eggs and ripe plantains. It is a savory-sweet dish made with seasoned ground beef, sofrito, tomatoes, olives, capers, raisins, and Moro Rice). I enjoyed this dish, VERY MUCH. The ground beef was perfectly seasoned, I prefer the delectable dry Moro Rice, and those sweet plantains are divine. The other selection was the Tostones Montaditos (Fried green pressed plantains topped with Churrasco-Skirt Steak). Even though this is an appetizer, it is large enough to be a meal. Try it. I appreciated the attentive and cordial service from our Server, Eduardo. I placed a to-go order and not only was it securely packed, but Rumba also included another free appetizer coupon to the bag.

I've visited multiple locations over the past few years and I've never been disappointed! They don't miss! No matter which spot I go to, the quality of the food, the warm service, and the lively ambiance are consistently amazing. We visited the Rochelle Park location on a Saturday night. It's right on Rt17 with a large parking lot, but it was packed when we arrived. There was a line of cars backed into the highway waiting for valet service. It's complimentary, so tip as you please. I honestly don't like to valet my car...... especially when I could easily park it myself right there LOL. But we didn't have a choice. *shrug* As always, Rumba's vibrant atmosphere didn't disappoint. You can feel the energy as soon as you walk in! The upbeat Latin music will have you swaying, I promise ;) The interior beautifully captures the culture and history of Cuba with colorful artwork, tropical plants, rattan pendant lamps, and large murals of Havana. It has a touch of elegance without feeling too upscale, so this restaurant is perfect for casual dining and special occasions like celebrations or date nights. We didn't have reservations and had to wait around 15 minutes for a table for two. No biggie - we sipped at the bar until our table was ready! The menu offers traditional Cuban dishes like ropa vieja, vaca frita, and bistec de palomilla along with a variety of tapas, mofongos, sandwiches, and sides. I ordered: *Taino Cocktail [El Jimador Reposado Cristalino, Ancho Reyes Verde, Tamarindo Pure, Agave Syrup, Fresh Lime Juice] ($14.95) - Oooo this was a sweet & spicy mix with a strong tequila finish! It's like a spicy margarita with a tropical twist. *Caribbean Punch Cocktail [Tanduay White Rum, Tanduay Gold Rum, Plantation Overproof Rum, Lime Juice, Guava, Orange, Pineapple Juice, Grenadine] ($13.95) - This drink was screaming my name! It's fruity, refreshing, and makes you feel like you're on an island. I just wish it had a liiiiiiitle more rum for a stronger punch, and that the glass wasn't filled with so much ice. *Ropa Vieja [shredded beef stewed in a sauce made with tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, garlic, cumin, olives, and sherry wine] ($15.95) - Cuba's national dish! The tomato-based sauce was perfectly seasoned and the beef was sooo tender... melt-in-your-mouth type of tender! My tummy was happy, but I wish the portion size was bigger! I paired it with a side order of tostones (fried plantains) and arroz blanco (white rice) with frijoles negros (black beans). The fluffy rice soaked up the rich sauces of the black beans & ropa vieja, so every bite was savory heaven~ The tostones were sliced, deep fried, and smashed to perfection. Crispy tostones + garlic mojo sauce = a perfect pairing. I could eat these all day! The only thing that's really missing here is...Can you guess? A DANCE FLOOR. Once they make room for that, y'all know where to find me. I'll be at the bar for drinks first and then dancing later! Need to satisfy your Cuban cravings? Look no further. Put some rumba in your step and head over here!

We tried the cheesesteak empanadas, croquettes, bbq pulled pork arepa, garlic shrimp, octopus, short rib gnocchi and finished with tres leches cake. My favorites were the octopus, shrimp, gnocchi, empanada, and tres leches cake. Croquettes were the least favorite, just not exciting, and they were kind of smashed. The octopus was very tender and enjoyed the sauce and sundried tomatoes that came with it. Everything came out at the right temperature and at a good pace to not overwhelm the table with dishes.
