Located in downtown Plymouth, the buildings look historical. Public parking is available but limited to 2 hours parking. It gave us enough time to park and walk towards the GTC. I find the window display from the outside to be intimidating and made me think that the prices of the items they sell are expensive. Surprised to find out later that they sell toys at a comparable price. most of the employees we saw were female...I find them friendly and knowledgeable of what's new and trendy when it comes to toys for the kids and young at heart. saw a lot of plush bears/puppies, and age appropriate educational toys. what's great about the store is they have a point system for every dollar spent. they may ask you to join and record your phone number so they can contact you if the items you're looking for is already available. looking forward in opening my first box of museum series Smiski!

This is a cute little mom and pop shop that's the only game in town when it comes to stores…read moreexclusively devoted to kites (and windsocks, spinners and possibly a handful of other wind activated amusements I don't know the names for). Some friends of mine started something they dubbed Detroit Kite Club. As you might have guessed this involves people getting together and flying kites. I decided I wanted in and after perusing some kites online I opted to go to a brick and mortar outlet as I was going out to Ann Arbor and saw there was exactly one kite store in metro Detroit. The selection isn't huge. They didn't have the cool skeleton or bat kites I saw online. I did, however, get a fantastic large multicolored owl kite that garners positive comments just about every time I've flown it. (Usually at Metro Beach or Belle Isle.) The lady working there was super nice, too. I lost one of the plastic poles that hold my big technicolor owl together and misplaced my reel of kite string so I had to go back and the same lady cut me a new pole in short time after I showed her the one I needed and she didn't have quite the right length. She even gave me an extra free of charge just in case I lose another. And sold me a better reel than the first one I had - I believe this one is 500 feet. That owl can get way up there on a windy day if I let it all the way out. I haven't flown the owl yet this year. I'm planning on going to the U.P. with two other DKC members next month so maybe I'll bring it. They have a kite that looks like a squid. An owl and a squid hanging out - wacky! The Free Design once sang that Kites are Fun and they are. And this is where you can find fun Kites and fun things.

I would like to compare my experience here similar to The Vault at Midnight in downtown Ann Arbor... With way less college kids . There are so many items to chose from like collectible items, mugs, posters, books, magnets, stickers, candy, comic books (duh), board games etc that it has to be impossible to walk out without a few things in hand. But what I appreciate the most was the customer service experience I received and saw others receive while I shopped. The staff makes you feel super comfortable even if you don't even like comic books... Lol but you can tell they wear a badge of pride because they KNOW THEIR STUFF! In fact I learned something new about a storyline that I don't believe my husband knows about ... And I hope he'll be surprised for Christmas. And if that's not a selling point... I found my father in laws gift here before anyone else. THAT IS UNHEARD OF. The store is super organized, clean and up to date. And the prices are very fair. If you need stocking stuffers or a last minute Christmas gift... Try here before you browse on Amazon. I promise you won't be disappointed!!

We were there maybe an hour and a half all told, but it didn't feel like it. We never felt rushed - she took her time and let us take ours. Brilliant experience. She was a wealth of information and helpful tips, gave us a YouTube account to look at for techniques and a local place to take classes. We very much enjoyed our time in this shop and with this wonderful woman. Wish we lived closer! Suffice it to say that, if you're in the market for skates or skating gear (or anime gear, toys, wearables etc), this is the SPOT. The kind of place you love supporting because it feels like home and you can geek out together about things you love. What a treasure. We both walked out with some insanely comfortable Retros and a set of pads. A week later we are just beginning to get out skate legs, no longer feeling like such awkward baby gazelles, and very grateful for the care and attention she gave us in helping us select skates, know what to look for, and where to start learning. This shop is a valuable community resource, so be thankful, Detroit - this is the real deal

They took the time to listen to us, they gave us their expert recommendations, they had my kid try on a bunch of different options, and, once we made our selection, they helped us customize the wheels, toestops, etc. They were SO much more knowledgeable and customer oriented than other skate shops we've visited (very noob friendly) and way cheaper too. We will be back!
