This place was great, I felt like they gave a good sized portion for the pice you pay! I was able to eat mine for two meals! I got the steamed veggies rice bowl and added tofu. I really enjoyed the amount of vegetables they gave and the thickness of the veggies. All of the veggies were cooked but still have a bit of a crunch which I love. The teriyaki sauce came on the side so that was nice that I got to decided how much I wanted to put on. I ended up using all the teriyaki and half a packet of soy sauce. The dish is not spicy so it came with some chili paste packets for the people who prefer it hot. If I were to compare this place to another restaurant, I would say that it gives flame broiler vibes. But with more options. I also heard that this is a locally owned restaurant. I love to support local businesses so you should definitely give this place a try! The food was very good, and the place was very busy so that was a good indicator. The only issue I've had is that they couldn't add tofu to the vegetable stir fry, I had to order a full side of tofu separately. Usually restaurants add it without any problem, maybe for a small upcharge, but the end result is much better as the tofu is sautéed together with veggies. Besides that, we both liked the god and the extra teriyaki sauce they've added. It also came with Sriracha sauce pockets if you need more spice as the dishes are not spicy. You can find in but they will still serve you the food in a to go containers, so that is a bummer. Food came out quickly and it was hot and fresh. read more

Stop by while my wife was attending an event nearby. She's Japanese and my daughter lives in Japan so I've had my share of good Japanese food. For Japanese take out food this place is really good based on my only dish I had. Their version of katsu chicken was spicy. Very moist on bed of rice and a side salad. Also, steamed tofu ordered. The worker was great and said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I went in to get it shortly later. It was ready on time. Greeted by many and paid for order. Honestly, I'm so glad there's a teriyaki spot in Sanger now! It's a great place to get Japanese fast food and not drive to Clovis or Fresno for it! We stumbled upon this adorable little restaurant via yelp during our sojourn from Yosemite national Park to Kings Canyon Sequoia national Park. Had True Teriyaki while I was in town for the holidays. Damn was it good. We got the chicken and salmon plate, gyoza, and a shrimp tempura roll. All the food was fresh. The cut of the chicken was fantastic. Tempura roll was epic. They even threw in extra teriyaki sauce. so happy that this small business is thriving in Sanger. The restaurant itself is very clean. The food was delicious. If you like Teriyaki Don in Fresno then the food here is very similar. The teriyaki sauce is amazing as well. I always get chicken teriyaki and some sushi rolls when I go there. This restaurant is highly recommended especially in the Sanger area since there's no other Japanese restaurants within the city. "big portions if you don't mind bland flavor." Pro: on the beef yakisoba which I tried, lots of beef and it was cut perfectly and tasted good. The noodles were not my fav. I'm happy Sanger has another option for teriyaki bowls and sushi. I was really excited to try this place. I called in an order. The customer service was great. They took my order and had the food ready when I arrived. The restaurant is clean and very spacious, it would be a good place to dine it. I ordered a combo plate and two sushi rolls. The price is fair for the amount of food you get. The issue I had with True Teriyaki is that all of my food smelled and tasted fishy. As soon as I brought the food into my car, I noticed it right away. I understand this is a sushi place, but I don't want my chicken smelling of fish. The chicken I ordered was fried so I'm assuming they must use the same oil to cook everything in. I'm not sure what the case was, but the strong fish smell threw me off. The flavor of the food was good, but I just couldn't fully enjoy the meal. The sushi was decent. Overall, it was a mediocre experience. I am not writing them off. I will return to try the grilled chicken bowls. It looks like many other people enjoyed their food and had a good experience. This was just mine. It could have been an off day for them. read more

Tried this place a few days ago and loved it. I had the dynamite chicken combo and it was very tasty. It wasn't really spicy, but that's fine. I usually like melt my face off spicy, but I liked the flavor of everything and the chicken was tender and juicy. The combo added 2 gyoza, a spring roll and a soda. To be honest, the gyoza and spring roll were the stars of the show. They were excellent. They staff was friendly and professional and the tables were nice and clean. The food was absolutely amazing here! My friends and I had to grab a quick lunch and we ordered combos. The food came accordingly and was well cooked. We didn't wait too long and they even brought the food when we dined in which was very nice. The woman at the cashier was very welcoming and patient with us, giving us helpful insights to help us decide what we wanted. Everything was sounded so good so it was hard to choose.
