The sole, damning criticism is the decrepit condition of the exercise equipment. Some of the staff have involved their families in spending personal time and their own money repairing the apparatuses that certainly every other Anytime Fitness client in the United States takes for granted. There are also ten treadmills on-site, three of which are broken and one is inconsistent in its operation. Two of the elliptical machines barely operate efficiently. Have consulted on-site staff and was told that ownership has ordered new treadmills but they have yet to arrive. My suspicion is that they actually were not even ordered, as the same inoperable hulks of machinery still sit there for clients to lay their clothing on while exercising on an adjacent piece of equipment. If I was the Anytime Fitness corporation, I would not close the place down, but I would force the owner to relinquish the site or sell it to another party. The staff are the best part about the facility and we would miss seeing them if something drastic was recommended.

Price is decent and has everything you need to get a great workout in. It's very clean facility and there's plenty of parking outside. In fact I might join anyone because they have a multi club offer. After one month you can work out at any Anytime fitness.

Yet just like ending a relationship even one that ran it's course, I was displaced and unsure what to do next. I, along with a slew of other ladies turned friends from our old gym began trying out some other places. In total I went to 5 other gyms before trying Fit4Life Boxing Club. I found some common problems in the other places. Lack of classes, lack of cleanliness, lack of class times, lack of variety, they all equaled lack of interest, but this "dating" period was kind of fun, dare I say exciting to try out so many different places. I and my gym crew prefer a place with structured programs. I do have a basic membership to a box gym and though I know how to work out, I prefer someone tell me what to do. It keeps me accountable and makes me feel like I really got the most out of my hour. So enter the boxing club, I was really unsure about this place at first. Me and two gym friends came here during a free week they were offering at the end of the summer. I had done no contact kickboxing classes, but that did not really prepare me for what was in store. By the time the class was over I was drenched and exhausted, but I wasn't sold. I don't know why. It was an excellent workout, it was fun, and went fast! But I think I was a little scared of commitment. After being "married" to a gym I wanted to leave well before it was over, I had cold feet. Luckily they were offering some good intro rates off the free week and me and my posse signed up for the month. It didn't take a month. Within about a week we all knew this was where we wanted to be. As it turned out not just a couple of us but basically everyone that went to my old gym joined here. I also invited other friends and co-workers to try it out and they loved it and joined as well. So to anyone looking for a challenging workout that's fun, stop in! Well not now because COVID-19, but hopefully soon. They have classes 7 days a week. Super early mornings, 5am classes are awesome, to 7 pm classes and in between. They have great instructors who know you. Out of classes of 30-50 people they still know your name. They are very helpful and encouraging the whole class. Each class is different so you never have to work through the same workout. The first class is always free and there are many different options for memberships from punch cards to 12 month membership plans. Nothing really helps get the aggression out than going 15 rounds with a heavy bag! Lastly they have great programs for kids and offer classes specific to people with Parkinson disease called Rock Steady. Fit4Life is a great gym that also gives back to the community. I am very happy I found this place.

I was previously a member at…read moreOrangetheory (OTF) in East Liberty and loved it, but it's possible I love the Monroeville location even more. Couple of big differences, the volume of members and the parking lot, which means I can get to class right on time without needing the cushion to figure out the complex streets of East Liberty. Also, fewer members (and in a larger space) has been nice as far as being able to get into classes goes, which was my number one qualm with OTF compared to other types of gyms. If you're reading this review getting ready for resolution season and want to know if OTF is for you here's the rundown: 1. It's pricey, there's no getting around this BUT it is less expensive than personal training and the coaches provide very similar guidance 2. It's not really for the completely unfit UNLESS you're able to swallow your pride. I'm part of the 250+ club and there is rarely an "option" that is completely within my comfort zone BUT I'm willing to listen to my body and confident I'll keep up with my coaches/classmates one day. Anyone CAN do it but the pressure can be real. 3. It works! After a year of OTF I was never in better shape, which made it worth it (I am back after a two year hiatus and 40 lbs of weight gain). Best news... first class is free! So you don't have to take my word for it. Try it out and see!

One day, I went to my assigned rower and it didn't have a tablet at all, so I went out to the front desk to ask if they could check the tablets before sending us out there. Kelly K told me in a very unpleasant way that I was lucky to be there as they had plumbing problems that day and not to bother them. I'm sorry but you don't tell a member paying $170/month that they are lucky to be there. Obviously, I decided to cancel my membership at this studio and when I did, I told Kelly K that it was because of her that I was cancelling. Her response? "Awwww" This mean-spirited, condescending person has no business working in a customer service role. I'll be starting a new membership at a studio that doesn't employ someone like that.

Josh is extremely knowledgeable about all facets of the body, exercise, gym equipment, and nutrition.  These skills became apparent  when he designed and implemented an individualized training program for me.  He focuses on helping you achieve long-term fitness goals, but adjusts workouts weekly and monthly to meet your particular needs at different stages along your fitness journey.  For example, before I started working with Josh, I had lower back pain that would flair up  from time to time.  Josh has been mindful of my injury history, while modifying workouts, catering to any limitations I might have, so I can continue to progress.  Over the years he has helped me develop a stronger, and more resilient core, which has substantially reduced the frequency of painful back episodes I used to have. Josh is also good at understanding my current mental and physical capacity for training on any given day.  As a result, he is able to  make adjustments to my program which set me up for success, despite work fatigue, or occasional lapses in motivation.  This means he understands when I can be pushed hard, and when I need a lighter day if I'm particularly burned out for other reasons. This has enabled me to maintain my fitness routine during the past 5 years without dreading them.  I enjoy my workouts which hasn't always been the case  with prior training experiences. The Training Revelations studio is great.  The facility and equipment is comprehensive, clean, and orderly.  Because only one client is working out at a time, it reinforces how personalized the experience truly is. I also want to note that during the COVID-19 crisis, Josh has made himself available through video conferencing to help me continue to maintain an exercise routine at home.  I definitely recommend Training  Revelations for personal training! Josh's expertise, and unique approach to training, has allowed me to consistently work out in a way  that is sustainable for the long term.

I'm also lazy when it comes to exercise and physical motivation. I knew I needed a trainer, but was afraid of injuring myself and of being intimidated. Josh is certainly extremely knowledgeable about the physical components of training, such as anatomy and safety. But the most valuable and important attribute he has provided is that he LISTENS! Before I formally started working with Josh, we talked. Our conversation involved more than collecting medical information and was definitely NOT a sales pitch. Josh actively asked about my goals and fears, and why I wanted to train. He was very clear about what training could and could not do to help me meet my goals, and also what would be expected of me. As far as the inevitable training question--"Does he kick your ass?" Yes, when I genuinely need it. But in 100% of our time together, Josh has always treated me with courtesy, respect and a sense of humor.
