Anytime I searched for Pre-owned Rolex's online, I found myself back on one of two websites: Bob's and Sant Blanc. They both have competitive prices and always had the largest influx of inventory. I live in NY but am originally from CA so I figured I would try out Bob's first. I won't go into too much detail, if you're interested you can read my full review of Bob's on their Yelp page, but the summary is this: they lowballed me on my watch trade-in online, so I sold it to another store nearby for 181% the price Bob's was offering me. I get it, it happens, didn't deter me too much. But then, when I was in CA for a week visiting family, I drove over an hour to Bob's storefront to check out a watch I wanted, only to find out that they had the wrong information in the description of their posting! You would think that they might check that when I called earlier that day and told them I would be coming in to see the watch. I was so frustrated at that point, I had to turn to Sant Blanc. I called and spoke to Jon Todd and instantly knew that Sant Blanc was the way to go. He was friendly but straight to the point, nothing salesman about him, and when talking trade-ins and group orders he was fair about the values and discounts respectfully. It just goes to show how much better of an experience you can give from a smaller shop where the margins can be thinner. I ended up not trading in anything because I had already sold the watch that I really wanted to trade in, but I did get two watches and Tod gave me a good discount on the pair. He also worked with me as best he could to allow me to buy one through Amazon because I had thousands in Amazon credit, then applied the discount to the other watch I wired the money for. Also, after the watches arrived and I reached back out to tell him I needed extra links, he shipped them express a day later. Good service at a fair price, not much more you can ask for when dealing with used watches. I hope to use Sant Blanc again one day when I can finally afford a used meteorite dial Rolex. read more

Shopping (and selling) timepieces can be quite daunting, with the grey market sharks, fakes, and all the big sites that rig the aftermarket trends etc. But a friend of mine who's super diligent in his purchases referred me to Jon, and when I was ready to make a similar purchase I went right to him. I liked that is was sort of old school, discussions on the phone, texts, pictures etc. He walked me through the process (which let's face it is scary to do sight unseen thousands of miles away) and how secure the transition would be. The short story is would HIGHLY recommend working with Jon! Great communication and honest individual in my opinion. Long story.. I bought a high end piece from Jon in December of 2021. I've never bought a used time piece before so I was on edge to begin with. Once received I took the piece to a local jeweler for their opinion. They viewed it and said there *might be an issue with it. They recommended sending it off to the manufacturer to ensure everything was good and in line with what it should be. I called Jon to discuss and he was very easy to talk to and even encouraged me to send it off if I had any concerns so I could rest easy. Mind you he took my call on a Saturday evening pacific time which I believe put him on the phone with me around 9pm his time. Mr. Todd didn't rush me on the phone or say let's deal with this on Monday but rather took his time explained to me what the options were and made his recommendation. I took his and the local jewelers recommendation only to find out everything was perfecto and there was no issues whatsoever with the piece. I really appreciated how Jon worked with me and communicated with me throughout the entire process and again would highly recommend working with him. Anytime you are dealing with someone for the first time there can be a trust issue. Jon not only dealt with it perfectly but didn't take offense to my concerns and instead recommended how to resolve the issue which inevitably led to my trust being instilled in him going forward! I do plan on working with Jon again in the future and would highly recommend him to anyone I know. I actually had quite the opposite experience that Tim M had getting a hold of Jon Todd. He's answered almost every time I have called and spent time answering my many questions. I think there was only one time he did not answer but he called me back within half hour. It is his cell which I actually like as I'm able to communicate via text as well. I'm assuming since it is his personal cell there are times when can't answer and that's understandable. We have bought 3 Rolex watches from him. Beware ! ! ! NOT COMFORTING DOING BUSINESS OUT OF STATE I am a serious watch buyer/collector. I have read several reviews on Sant Blanc before contacting them for a purchase. It took a major vote of confidence for me to purchase high priced watches over the internet/phone with out seeing them first. Glad it never got to that point !!! So, here was my personal experience. I found the watch I was looking for and placed a call into SB. I got Jacob on the telephone, explained the watch I was looking for and he told me that he actually had a better deal for me and could offer it to me at a cheaper price. I was very excited about the watch , also it was a gift and I did have a deadline to get it ( 3-4 weeks away-plenty of time). I was told the inof/pics would be emailed to me to get a better look at the watch before I purchased it. I was excited and looking forward to see it. I waited all day and no email, so I assumed they were busy and I waited to call back in the evening ...got Jacob back on the phone and he said the guy who sends the pictures left and wont be able to do it until Monday, No Problem totally fine. Monday came ,,,,waited all day for the pics , again no show ...I called back at closing time ,Jacob said we were busy I will get them out to you tomorrow. ahh ok Ill wait more time. next day no pictures/info, so I didn't want to be a pest and call for a third time...so I waited. Another 2-3 days went by and now its a week later and still no info. So I had to call for a 4th time and say hey remember me !? same story ...im sorry were busy ill send them over , I said ok and back to waiting. during this dragged on process I notice on there ebay store the exact same watch I was looking was placed for same at a higher price then told to me. So I started to wonder ....are they buying time to try and see if they can get more money ? did they make a mistake and offer it to cheap ? so now my confidence on buy such a expensive watch online/over phone starts to dwindle. I wait a few days (now 2 weeks) and still no info, so for the 5th time I called up and spoke to Jacob....he gave me the same snow job story and put the owner/ boss on the phone...did 10 minutes with this guy and listened to his story on how there so busy , they had to get out paying orders the whole bit, I will say this though ...He was very professional and extremely knowledgeable and even educated me on a few things. He said I will have the watch cleaned up and the pics will be sent, I hung up and said ok great I am finally going to get this watch.. GOT ME AGAIN ! I waited for a day or two , then a week ....now here we are 3 weeks later and still no details/ on how to purchase this watch. Keep in mind it is a gift that is now almost due... I refused to embarrass myself and call for a 6th or 7th time and say hey guys ?? ? whats up ? do you want to sell me a watch or not , or accuse them on playing some games with selling it online for a higher price ! I could have easily walked away and continued to buy the watch local, but I write this review to the people who are hesitate to make expensive purchases with this company on the blind. My experience was very uncomfortable. All I was thinking during this whole dragged out joke was , thank god I didn't send these guys thousands of dollars... and them have it in hand and get this run around.. My advice to buyers: No matter how many good reviews you may read , buying expensive items online or over the phone is still a very non transparent process. I will never try it again.
