Before we could give up and walk out, the owner/manager approached us at the Mille entrance with complete kindness, and he invited us to enter with the stroller to find seating before ordering. We were so surprised by his desire to accommodate the baby, and we accepted his generous offer, quickly finding a little corner table in the covered patio area at the back of the restaurant. Once the stroller was out of the way, I placed our orders, and we received our drinks quickly - a black hibiscus iced tea plus a creamy London Fog. Brunch followed shortly - croque Madame for me, veggie quiche for my friend, and a Nutella crepe to share. My taste of the quiche was super creamy, and the croque madame was as rich as expected. Crepe was lovely, though I wish they hadn't run out of eclairs, which are my favorite. We'll have to show up earlier next time - and there will be a next time! Thank you for the hospitality, Mille. Parking is a little limited in their own parking lot and the shop is sort of crowded, but you can always park on a street outside (albeit some small parking fees). Overall, I really enjoyed the pastries here...although I think the drink (I got matcha latte...true, true, matcha latte isn't much of a western drink..so maybe I'm wrong to judge a restaurant by this drink) wasn't so much of my highlights. We found a great shaded spot outside for the five of us with a view facing the bustling bakery inside. Many people brought their bikes or dogs (allowed outside only) and met up with friends to eat and chat. At one point a server brought out an order of bread that we did not order, but he left it with us anyway, free of charge. So glad we got to try Sage Bakehouse and I'd definitely visit several more times when in the area!

The "to-go" line was a little slow, mostly due to a combination of chatter and specialty coffee drink preparation. But I wasn't much in a hurry. And once that was out of the way, the transaction proceeded smoothly, including a nice box to carry it home.

Perfect combo of soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Highly recommend. It was so good that I wish I'd bought more. I have yet to try the pumpkin empanada, so will have to update this once I've eaten that tomorrow. The panadería is not self-serve at this time, but that wasn't a problem as long as you're ok with naming or pointing at things and having an employee bag things up for you. The gentleman behind the counter was so, so kind and chatted with me or answered all my questions while packing up the pan dulce in a bag. Also, added bonus: prices here are extremely reasonable. Only gave 4 instead of 5 stars because I was hoping the concha would be a bit more moist, but it heated up well at home and was nice and squishy/soft after warming it up. Still enjoyed it!
