    Huge Sopapillas
    Mark A.

Went for lunch on a weekend and it was surprisingly not very busy, so we sat at the front. Servers were very friendly and prompt - everything we got was very flavorful, and we were happy to get to try their sopapillas! They have some fun comics on the walls, newspaper clippings and other art. Great prices, large plates, and nice local food.

Beef Enchilada Lunch with red chile

This is a Santa Fe classic! We eat here every time we come to visit and it never disappoints. The red chile is one of my favorites and I love the traditional New Mexican style flat enchiladas. There's usually always a wait, but they seat you quickly and the service is great! My favorite part is the sopapillas with honey. Delicious! Will continue to come back on our next trips!

    Frito Pie

Came for lunch, stayed for the fried sopapilla! I love that they serve it with your meal so you're not too full to enjoy it at the end. Drizzle it with honey and thank me later! Unfortunately, I can't handle spicy food, and in New Mexico, everything comes with red or green chile. Still, I really enjoyed my Santa Fe plate, which included a blue corn enchilada and a taco, while my husband ordered the Frito pie. We ordered all our dishes with the chili sauces on the side. We arrived about an hour before closing, and they had already run out of tomatoes for our dishes, so it felt like something was missing, but everything still tasted great. We also shared a side tamale just to try one, and it was delicious. I wish we'd come earlier to try the breakfast menu that served only until 11 a.m., but lunch was satisfying. We waited about 25 minutes for a table for two on a Saturday and it was definitely worth it!

We dropped by here for breakfast. They were busy but very efficient. Got a number and waited briefly. We're seated in about 5-10 min. This place got the old cozy feel to it. Kids had some options around. They didn't have potatoes (only hashbrowns). So my older one got dry cereal (they only had corn flakes) with milk. Younger one got the pancakes. I had the breakfast burrito with Christmas sauce no cheese. My burrito was good. Hash brown inside and my sauces were nice. Had some coffee. It was decent. Kids enjoyed their breakfast. Waiter was very friendly and efficient throughout. We enjoyed our time here. Wish they could offer more egg white options, and side potatoes.

    Beef Burrito Christmas

I big question mark walking in. Definitely a little beat up compared to other places downtown, but that is only because of the huge traffic that passes through the place. The specials looked great as did the huevos rancheros, but the overwhelming recommendation was the breakfast burrito Christmas style - it was definitely the right call. I also tried a blue corn pancake, amazing! I could have order more. It was crowded, but they still got us seated quickly, and the server was super friendly and helpful.

Breakfast enchiladas - Christmas style: Green chile is hooter than the red ;)

Had on Ok breakfast at Tia Sophias this past weekend. I thought the food was quite good and worth trying again; I enjoyed the green chile in particular. The place was full with a medium wait time, testimony to its popularity. The interior is nice, hasn't been updated in a while- nothing fancy or trendy. The service was a bit touch-&-go IMHO. It was friendly enough, but it might have been an off day.

    Chicken Enchiladas Friday Lunch Special
    John S.

I've tried New Mexican food enough times to know I prefer traditional Mexican food. I got the Friday special chicken enchiladas with blue corn tortillas. The portion and price point was fine, but the chicken in the enchiladas desperately needed some seasoning. The rice was barely there and I'd prefer refried beans over pinto beans. On the other hand, I did enjoy the free sopapila with honey and cinnamon-sugar at the table. Service was good and food was delivered fast.

    Breakfast Burrito Special and pancake

Red and green chile sauces were both excellent on the breakfast burrito. Service was prompt and the restrooms were kept tidy.

We had a delicious lunch here a month or so ago. The restaurant is super cute, staff are friendly, and the food is amazing. We had the chile relleno lunch specials and everything was mouth wateringly tasty. Wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often!

Huevos Rancheros Special Dos Tias Combo 2 Tacos Plate

A friend and I decided we must go a little out of our way to try this because of that Reply All episode (iykyk). The line/wait was long for lunch (it made us all the more excited tbh), but for a party of 2 it was only exactly 20 min (which was a crazy short wait, just enough to peek into the cathedral nearby) compared to some of our fellow comrades-in-waiting. We were seated in a cute private feeling booth along the wall and we're presented the vast menu (and there are vegetarian options!) We got 3 dishes for two people which was a mistake, we should've stuck with 2 for 2, because maaan the portion sizes were ridiculous (in the best way). Recommend green chili based dishes, you won't miss the usual carb base. Food came out quickly and was demolished rapidly.

Stopped by to have a bite to eat and it was fabulous. I would go back there time and time again.

The café has a cool, modern vibe with plenty of indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor patio. They were very busy on a Saturday morning. The counter staff was very matter-of-fact. Not rude, but not especially warm or welcoming either. Honestly, I got the impression she was just under a lot of stress. We also asked another staff member if we could use one of the patio umbrellas (they were all closed for some reason), and he was prompt and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, a meat-filled empanada, a honey latte, and a cold brew. The cold brew was a little too dark for my taste, though coffee preferences are definitely subjective. Interestingly, there's a place in Albuquerque that has an almost identical flavor profile. The toasted everything bagel was very good, but it didn't come with quite enough cream cheese. The single cream cheese packet also felt a bit lackluster presentation-wise. That said, when we asked for more, the response was friendly and accommodating. The honey latte had beautiful latte art and great flavor, definitely a highlight. The empanada, filled with ground beef, green chile, and piñon, was a bit over-toasted, but the filling itself was flavorful, even if somewhat sparse. Overall, I think 35 North has a lot going for it and could easily elevate the experience with a few small improvements to consistency and customer service.

I was expecting a savory dish, but it had a weird sweetness to it; maybe the tarragon? Maybe it's just me. The fish came out as a "fish" it mostly unprocessed, bones and all, maybe it still had its eyes. It was stuffed with a filling but the taste was not agreeable to me. It wasn't awful, just not good. I didn't finish it. Service: painfully slow. We sat at a table in the middle of the indoors room, but s-l-o-w. Mate kit: c'mon on now! For an Argentine restaurant you can do much better. First time they brought me the mate kit, but the bombilla (straw) had no filter. That means you drink the mate and you end up with leaves in your mouth and teeth. Not a good feeling. I asked for an additional bombilla, the server brought a very short bombilla. Hard to use. I have never seen or used such a short bombilla. I gave up. Nice ambience. Feels like an urban garden-café. Will not go back unless another friend wants to go there. Disappointed.
