Love this store! However, the jeweler is terrible. #50 dollars to glue in a piece of turquoise in a wide cuff bracelet and the stone is now broken and the bezel is ruined around the stone as well. I would not take any repair work to this jeweler even if it is very minor. read more

Terrible customer service. I had to pre pay for boots that weren't in stock. I decided the next day that I don't want the boots! They said they hadn't ordered them yet, and would NOT cancel my order. I was forced to buy the boots which they hadn't even ordered yet! I spent $1000 at this store the year before and bought more stuff when I was there recently. Bad on me for not knowing return policy but come on Santa Fe Craftsman. You had not even ordered the item I wanted to cancel and I will be stuck with a store credit if the boots are out of stock. This is one of my favorite stores in Fort Collins. A wide variety of super cute items. They have some of the friendliest staff in Old Town. The first item I bought here was a pair of earrings for my friend's birthday. The guy at the counter heard me say it was a gift and wrapped it up beautifully for no extra charge. In the past year or so, I have been back several times for a pair of earrings for myself, some sandals for myself, and several gifts for friends and family. I haven't had any issues with any of the items, and I get tons of compliments on the jewelry. :) Looking forward to going back soon to start my Christmas shopping. read more

Buyer Beware! I recently purchased two pairs of sterling silver stud earrings from Santa Fe Craftsman. After half a day of wearing one of the pairs, the holes in my ears turned black. I wear sterling silver all the time and have never had any sort of skin reaction. I immediately inspected both pairs of studs for a mark indicating that the metal was indeed sterling silver, and could not find a mark on either pair. Convinced I had been sold a sub-par product, I returned a couple days after my purchase to return the earrings. Upon speaking to the manager, I was surprised and dismayed to learn that the shop has a strict no returns policy, and would only offer me store credit. That's a convenient policy to have when you sell junk jewelry! Overall, the shop does sell some nicer, higher-end jewelry. However, beware their less-expensive items! read more

The items that I have purchased through the years from Bob and Dianna, have continued to bring joy to both my wife and I. She has the jewelry and the clothing and I have the art. Our talks about visits to Fort Collins are often interspersed with comments about the sculpture or necklace that we got from Santa Fe Craftsman. We have a place in Scottsdale, and visiting friends ask where we got something in the condo. Too often the answer is "Colorado" and then "Santa Fe Craftsman." We find the quality exceptional, the prices fair, and the service great. I have a hard time understanding someone's vitriol over a simple pair of earrings. My wife cleans her jewelry, regularly, and has had the same thing happen with an "old favorite" pair. Her fault, but hardly an earthshaking experience. She bought (I bought) two more pair yesterday, slipping one pair on without hesitation. No issues: happy wife, happy life. read more

I met Bob and his wife Diana through the Chamber of Commerce and they are both extremely pleasant people. I got the opportunity to learn about their jewelry from an event they hosted for the Chamber and was very impressed by their commitment to support the beauty of Navajo art. When my mother came to Colorado to visit me over her birthday I stopped in to see if I could find something special for her and stumbled upon a beautiful heart-shaped turquoise pendant to wear as a necklace. She loves it to say the least and I am very pleased with the quality of their selection. Would certainly recommend over your "traditional" jewelry store if you care to find something more unique. read more

I can not begin to tell you how wonderful of a business Santa Fe Craftsman is. A long time costumer, since their opening, I have purchased many different items from this high quality retailer and never been anything but thrilled. Whether it be a very affordable pair of earrings, pottery, or a more extravagant special stone and silver necklace for special events, I have received compliments from everyone who sees them. The quality of their items is really amazing. I have been so happy with all of my purchases and love that they are handcrafted from genuine Native American artists. I have several lower priced pairs of earrings, as well as more expensive ones, and I am not at all sure what the previous poster is saying. I have very sensitive ears and I have never had any problems with residue or allergic reactions. They are very high quality earrings. Aside from the fact that the items being sold at Santa Fe Craftsman are excellent, the customer service by far exceeds any store I shop at. The managers of the store are fantastic. They have always gone out of their way to find just the right item I am looking for, wanting for me to be happy with my purchase, whether if it is for myself or a for a gift. Buyer...beware of nothing here. But, be prepared to have a wonderful shopping experience and to leave with a very positive impression of the merchandise and of the owners of the shop. read more

I bought a silver necklace from this store. About a month later it broke. I was lucky that I was having dinner and didn't lose what was on it. I took it in and the owner said he didn't recognize it as their merchandise and asked me to bring in the receipt. I had already looked for it and couldn't find it. He called me and said his wife recognized it. It couldn't be replaced, he suggested that I had broken it and then offered me a 12.00 credit. I had already told him I thought I had paid around 47.00 but he said they only charge 15 - 20 for their necklaces. I couldn't prove anything and thought he was being rude and cheap and he suggested I lied three times. . I won't be back. read more

Wow, I was so surprised to see a negative review for the Santa Fe Craftsman that I had to sign up for a Yelp account just to give another perspective. My family and I have been shopping there for the past four or five years and have never been anything but delighted with any of our purchases. It has become our favorite little shop in Old Town and our kids always request to go in there. We also make sure to take any out-of-town guests for a visit. The customer service at the Santa Fe has always been top notch. The employees are always eager to show off their latest merchandise and will happily demonstrate them (like the sand art) or give you a closer look. I also ordered a Calvin Begay horse necklace online for my mother once and had it delivered to her in Kentucky, sight unseen. The staff were wonderful about answering all of my questions and making me feel comfortable with my purchase. It remains my mother's favorite piece of jewelry and she wears it every time I see her. Santa Fe Craftsman has truly become our go-to store for something fun or unique that we couldn't find anywhere else. We have bought cowboy hats, Painted Ponies, jewelry, kid's novelties, and other artwork there and I have never felt like any of it was mislabeled or low quality. My daughter and I ride horses, so it is also a fun place to buy horse-related merchandise. We always have a lovely experience there and hope they are in business for many years to come. read more

I am from Silicon Valley and visit Fort Collins regularly. I ALWAYS have to pay a visit to Santa Fe Craftsman. I've purchased some high end jewelry as well as some inexpensive merchandise. And I've been nothing but extremely pleased! The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, considerate, and go out of their way to make my visit a wonderful one. Beware of their "No Refunds" policy. In a previous review on "yelp" the Owner (I'm assuming) states that their sales associates are "trained to explain their return policy." This is very untrue. I purchased my fiancé two items from Santa Fe Craftsman, a pair of slippers and a handbag. The sales associate NEVER told me about the return policy, and when I paid I asked for gift receipts and she replied "We don't have gift receipts, just regular receipts." She never mentioned that I would NOT be able to return it! After my fiancé told me she did not like one of the items I checked online to see their return policy, which is very misleading because apparently it only applies to online purchases however it DOES NOT state that. We were treated very poorly when we went back to the store with our unused with tags and receipt item, and our issue was never resolved. We were given a gift card for the amount and told to come back and buy something another day when they "have more inventory." We were referred to speak with the owner and left our number for them to call us in 2 days (they didn't call back for 4). The owner asked me "what can I do to make this better" and I replied "just give me my money back, all we want is our money back" and the owner rambled about some sort of "paper trail" and how they can't give us a refund even though we were never informed of their policy. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT SHOP HERE. Their markup is ridiculous (both products I purchased were $15 to $20 cheaper on Amazon), also select members of the sales staff are very rude (the one sales woman called me an "ass" and accused me of harassing the other sales associate, which was completely untrue!). We did not have a good experience with this store at all, we were treated poorly and because of this my fiancé filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, both about the treatment from the sales staff and how I was uninformed of the return policy upon purchase. This is not something we would normally do but because of the circumstances we felt it necessary. With this post I caution you to NOT shop here. read more

I was a repeat customer at the Santa Fe Craftsman, even buying my wife's wedding ring here. And in all of those times I made purchases, never once did anyone tell me about the B.S. "no refunds" policy, nor did I notice it posted on the walls or on the receipt (until I went to look for it). I bought my wife moccasins for Christmas, assuming I could return them if they didn't fit or she didn't like them (WRONG). I went back with my wife after Christmas and of course they wouldn't let me return them for a refund. I wrote both owners, who would recognize us from our repeat patronage and asked them to make an exception for someone who is a local, repeat customer. I got no response from either one of them. Horrible customer service and a god awful way to treat people who keep your business afloat. If you're looking for amazing jewelry of the same style/caliber, go around the corner to "Meanwhile Back at the Ranch." They're much better at dealing with customers and don't hire teenagers who couldn't care less about the job at hand. This experience turned two repeat customers into never again customers. Shame on you for running your business in such a way. Nobody on earth has a "no refunds" policy in this day and age. Stuck in prehistoric times. read more
