My parents were in town and you could walk to this restaurant from their hotel so we decided to check it out. I ordered a mango margarita and the paella, my mom ordered the same. The flavor of the paella was spot on but there was way too much octopus in it. I've never had paella with octopus in it before, it wasn't bad, but the dish definitely didn't need it. The free chips and salsa were really good as well as the margarita. The restaurant is very loud and a bowl to put our shells in from the paella would have been nice, we just wound up using the chip bowl. Took a little while to get our check but our waitress was friendly and pleasant. Would love to return in the future and try some of their other offerings. read more

I live in Arizona and I eat Mexican food regularly. I had a chicken quesadilla and mom had their soup. Delicious. I can't speak to anything else on the menu, but those two items and the complimentary chips and salsa...extremely tasty. . I'm a foodie. And I love good Mexican food. Had to come out and celebrate my Back getting her doctorate degree! We chose Santa Fe for the drinks and they didn't disappoint!! A little strong, but who wants a weak drink?? Well, after passing on this place due to recent poor reviews for service a few weeks ago, we decided to give them a try, anyway. Good choice. Admittedly, my girlfriend and I are just two gringos from Minnesota. However, she was married to Mexico native for 15 years, and we both lived in Los Angeles for the last 8 1/2 years, so I'd say our palates are pretty well educated. This place rivaled, or perhaps even surpassessed, our favorite Mexican restaurant from the L.A. area. Salsa was just the right balance of flavor and heat, and the white cheese dip the same. Hard to not eat too many chips before the meal came. It ended up being a chimichanga-choice evening. Barb had one chicken and one steak, and I had the seafood mix. All were cooked just right, with just a little crispiness on the shell. The steak and chicken were both flavorful and tender, and though a little more seasoning and/or char on my seafood would have been nice, no complaints here. The sides were equally up to the rating; the rice and beans both had more flavor than any Mexican restaurant we've been to in a long time. I probably should have tried more than the small smattering of guacamole on her dish to give that a fair test. Next time. Service was also spot on, and with a bill of only about $30 (not including my wine or the tip), we'll definitely be coming back soon. read more

However, the food was too salty and the chorizo was burnt in my chorizo and Queso dip. Also, the enchilada lunch special didn't come with guacamole salad. I may be spoiled but I'm used to getting my tomatoes, lettuce guacamole and sour cream plate along with my special. I will say the water was delicious because not everyone serves good tasting water. Ordered drinks + waters, but our waters (and my second drink) didn't show up until my Aunt went to the bar to ask for it again. Our waitress seemed busy, the bar area was pretty crowded for an early evening on a Tuesday; I assume it was a lot of people from the nearby hotels, since this place was super convenient. When we asked for the check, she was quick to bring it and process it. Food/drinks: this is the reason for the 2 stars. Margaritas were huge, but I swear it was all mix and no tequila. Ordered a sangria next and it was literally fruit thrown in with red wine out of a bottle and some ice, so it wasn't premade (could definitely tell when I ate the fruit it hasn't soak in any liquid and there was no additional liquor). My Aunt liked her fish tacos, but my carne asada tacos were so lackluster. They tasted so bland until I put the the additional sauces on them & all I got with them was grilled onions? No lettuce or tomatoes or anything else, which was weird. Rice and beans were good, and the chips were fresh & I liked the regular salsa a lot. Overall, I wouldn't come back, even if I stayed at the same hotel. It's not worth the wasted calories/carbs to me. The best part of this place was the convenience of the location, but that's not enough to want to ever give them another shot. read more

It was a nice size crowd when we came in, but we were seated and able to order very quickly. I ordered the enchiladas verdes (chicken enchiladas) for my meal. As we waited we were able to enjoy the chips and salsa. My enchiladas were very good! The sauce was great, chicken was very flavorful. It was a good size portion and I had some to take home for leftovers. This would definitely be an entree I'd get again next time I come. The service was excellent. They kept our drinks refilled the whole time and checked on us in a timely manner. Prices are very affordable. Back in for lunch today so Alice could try the Chicken Enchiladas with Verde Sauce, and I wanted to try something other than the Carnitas, which are excellent, by the way! Alice ordered the Enchiladas Verdes (Three enchiladas filled with chicken and melted cheese. Topped with green sauce and cheese, and served with rice, lettuce,pico de gallo and sour cream), and I chose the Burritos Deluxe (Two combination burritos, one chicken with beans, and one beef with beans, topped with red sauce, cheese,lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream). In addition, I order a Hard Taco with Ground Beef as a side item, just to try it out. The chicken enchiladas were excellent, very most and flavorful, brought to a new level by the superb Verde Sauce. These enchiladas are served in corn tortillas, and I think they would be even better in wheat ones. The rice was nice, and the pico de gallo was perfect, freshly prepared and full of nice sharp tastes - so often the pico is old and stale, with a strong onion taste and smell. Both burritos were very good, very much enhanced by the delicious house red sauce. We both really like the salsa here, great flavor, without a lot of heat, though. The Ground Beef Taco was just ok, rather bland. This menu here is large but not especially varied or creative, but what they do, they seem to do well. Horrible place. Reservations for a party of 15 at 8pm. Didn't sit till 8:50p. Waited for food for an hour. Then, time for check..... waited another hour because they could get it right. They system was so called not working. No manager or waiter came to apologize at all. Finally one of us went to ask what's going on, manager was not pleasant like if we was the problem. When it was fix after waiting another 40 mins they charged us including the tip. Like are you serious. They do not know anything about customer service. Food wasn't great, it was rushed. They may have had more customers than what we could see, but just me and my friend were in masks. We were served in a very timely manner, no long wait and they kept our glasses filled.
