This restaurant is so amazing! Not only is the staff very friendly but they also are extremely attentive! All the food is made from scratch and after knowing it was my first time there the server brought over a dip sampler free of charge! The atmosphere is very friendly and cozy with great music playing! Will definitely come back again!!! Can not recommend enough!!!

I haven't been to Santa Fe in a number of years, because the last time I was here, the service was so bad I got up and left (yes, I paid for my drink). The food was never a problem, and it still isn't. Tableside guac (mango pepper) , and chicken chimi, and a couple golden margaritas. Yum. All thoughtful and well prepared. But the service was still average, which cost them a five. My waiter was very young, so hopefully he'll improve. I'd be happy to add this back in to my regular stops.

Review is for happy hour at the bar only! I came here with my friend for happy hour last Friday. With the drinks and food special it's the cheapest and best happy hour I have seen! We both got the house margaritas which were huge margaritas for $7. They were delicious! We also got chicken nachos to share and some guac taquitos that were really tasty. Great time to catch up with some friends will have to be back for dinner some time!

I ate here with my partner and a family member recently for dinner. The meal was marred with high highs and low lows so I think 3 stars is the most appropriate rating. We were undecided regarding whether to sit indoors or outside on their patio and the hostess took the initiative to choose the patio for us. I'm glad she did, it's quite lovely out there, especially on an evening with a more comfortable temperature. I did notice a higher-than-normal frequency of very loud vehicles disrupting the peace as they sped by. Fellas, all this means to us ladies is that you're trying to compensate for something and we all know what that is. Anyway, they have a margarita menu, as you would expect. The service was so good that our server came over so quickly that I hadn't had a chance to look over the drink menu yet. I made a game time decision on the skinny marg (this is me trying to compensate for the week's worth of calories I was about to consume). Everyone else at the table ordered a variation of the marg on their menu. My marg was great, you would never know it was "skinny". Unfortunately, GF's marg (she just ordered the house marg in a a frenzy because she had also not been able to look at the menu) literally looked like tinted water. I tasted it, it tasted like water with a splash of sour mix. There was something very wrong. At least one ingredient was missed. This was not a margarita. I have to say, in all my years of eating out, I have never had this happen before! She wouldn't allow me to say anything due to fear of the inevitable spit in the dish. I was THRILLED to see a vegetarian empanada dish on the menu. This was another first as I have never had the pleasure of ordering empanadas because they ALWAYS have some sort of meat in them. I OBVIOUSLY ordered them but the server gave me a little tease by saying she thought they were out and would check. As luck would have it, they were NOT out and I was able to enjoy these crispy, delicious, and frankly out of this world empanadas. The filling was so flavorful and they were served with a creamy sauce. Oh my gosh, I almost forgot. They give you chips and salsa at the beginning which are absolutely excellent. The chips are incredible, definitely homemade. The salsa was super tasty too with a little heat. The highs of the vegetarian empanadas came crashing down when I realized the rest of the menu struggled in the way of veggie options. There were a few on the first page but none on the last page, which included salads. Of all things to have a veggie option, you wouldn't choose salads??? What on earth? I had to go with the black bean chimichanga. Even though this was not my first choice, I was looking forward to it. It was beautiful when it came out although, it wasn't served with any sides whatsoever. I cut that bad boy open and noticed it was about 90% rice. Oh well. Whenever I ask GF how her dish was it is essentially a multiple choice question because the answer is always either "it was ok" or "it was good" and in this case, her snapper was "it was ok". To sum everything up, great service, decent food with some bumps in the road.

Guacamole made at table! Delicious. Great service, thanks, Destiny. The restaurant is beautiful! So elegant, bar and booths are cozy but a also festive. Happy Hour 4-6 with some drink and food specials. Manager stopped by to check on our experience. Very friendly. Food was good so many flavors. Can't wait till nice weather to sit outside!

Enjoyed the food and the service. Will definitely come back. My drink was made perfectly as I like my drinks sweet, The chicken chimi burrito was packed with chicken. This place is always packed, I can understand why.

I wish I could say I was excited after dining there for the first time but I have to say I was left somewhat disappointed. I can overlook most things, but when dining out i go for the food. And the food was just OK. We started out with cocktails. Two of us ordered from the unique signature cocktail menu and one of us just decided to have their usual Kir Royale. Of these three drinks, the Kir Royale was the best. Neither of the others thought that their drink was so great that they would order it again. A young man showed up at our table with three small dishes, asking, "Are you familiar with amuse bouche"? Yes I am. I don't need an 18 or year old to try to make me feel like he knows more than I do. It was condescending at best and just pretentious. He explained it was compressed cantaloupe with a mint oil and a touch of salt. If I had closed my eyes, I never in a million years would have tasted anything except a little bit of salt and a little bit of water. It was flavorless. For appetizers, we shared the snails, the rabbit poutine, and the foie gras. Both the snails and the poutine came with a sauce, and the servers almost insisted on pouring the sauce over the appetizer. One of us opted to stop the server because why would you bring it on the side and then not let me elect how I want it on there. That just did not make sense. There's no theater here you're just pouring. The snails were served in a vol-au-vent and were kind of lost in the too tall puff pastry. Both the snails and the poutine were lacking some serious flavor. The best bite of the appetizers was the piece of foie gras which was served on a comparatively mammoth-sized sleepy zucchini bread and with pickled local strawberries. I didn't care for the combination and for the price, the two bite piece of foie gras was not worth it. (understand you can drive 3 miles to a restaurant that puts more of it on a burger for that equivalent price.-plus you get an 8 oz burger). The pickled strawberry did not work either. We also order the "bread service." I don't like paying for bread but was intrigued by the bone marrow butter upsell. For $20 you get 5 slices of bread, some salted butter, and at most a tablespoon of bone marrow butter. Skip it. Not worth it. For entrées, we ordered the salmon and the duck for two. The salmon was supposed to be seared, but the presentation side looked more like it had been steamed or poached. Perhaps they seared the skin side, but this particular diner did not like salmon skin, so that was lost on it. The diner did not like couscous, which was the side that came with this dish so they asked for the pomme puree as a substitute. The potato purée was also lacking seasoning and of course we got charged $8 for the substitution even though this potato purée is a side for other entrées. The server who took our order recommended the duck. I'm a big fan of duck so our other dining partner indulged me and shared this entrée with me. The duck came with two breasts, two confit legs, baby carrots, cooked in duck fat and a frisée salad. This was probably enough for three people because we took home 1/4 of a duck breast, a whole leg and plenty of carrots. The duck breast was well rendered of the fat, and the skin was crispy. I like a medium rare duck breast but the underside was very rare as if it was never flipped in the pan. The leg was delicious (probably tossed in the deep fryer before serving to crisp the skin) but the carrots were heavy with fat. Very little frisée was served (almost as a garnish ) and it really needed more of it that acid from the dressing to lighten things up. Again the server tried to pour the sauce that came with it over the breast without asking if I wanted it first. I stopped them because I know how much I want and I know where I want it. I don't need you to do that for me. One cocktail, one appetizer and one entree per person was $100 per person on average. No tax in DE Service here is amateurish with training. I have already cited a few things. The waitress who took our order poured water for each of us spilling a significant amount when pouring one glass, said I'm sorry I misjudged. Bad depth perception, she said and continued on with her opening spiel which we got to hear in almost the exact same fashion as she greeted other tables. No offering to change the tablecloth of its two foot diameter circle of wetness. She just kept it moving. We came dressed business casual. We were the best dressed there. Lots of shorts and casual wear. This is not a fancy place. People appear to come as they are. I just did not get that I want to come back here feeling. Service was not great. Food was just ok and not ok for the price. Atmosphere is more American bar than French bistro. I am not super charged to go back.

The bartenders are the heart of the experience. They don't just pour drinks; they create them. There's real skill and artistry behind the bar, and the conversation is as good as the cocktails. You can tell they care about balance, technique, and presentation. The Walk in the Garden gin cocktail is the perfect example: bright, layered flavors, premium ingredients, and that lavender garnish that hits your nose before the first sip. The scent alone sets the stage for the drink. It's thoughtful, elegant, and exactly what a craft cocktail should be. The food holds its own right alongside the drinks. The skillet meatballs come out tender and full of flavor, the kind of dish that disappears faster than you expect. The potato skins are crisp, satisfying, and exactly what you want with a cocktail in hand. And the homemade Baileys cheesecake is the kind of dessert you plan to share but end up guarding with your fork. It's rich without being heavy, with that unmistakable homemade touch. One of the best parts of Hummingbird to Mars is the tapas-style menu. You can eat as much or as little as you want, a couple of small plates with drinks, or a full progression from appetizers to dessert. It gives you the freedom to shape the night however you want, without committing to oversized entrées or predictable bar food. And that's the bigger point: places like this don't happen by accident. They come from creativity, risk-taking, and a commitment to doing things well. If we don't support small businesses that put this level of care into their craft, we'll be left with nothing but the same chains serving the same menus everywhere you go. Hummingbird to Mars is the antidote to that; personal, inventive, and genuinely memorable. From the first sip to the last bite, it's a place that delivers an experience, not just a night out. It's worth supporting, worth returning to, and worth celebrating.
