The total lack of quality communication did not help the issue. Most communication with the dealership was instigated by us the customer, not the dealership. Our family's financial and medical circumstances changed overnight, so we reached out to the dealership multiple times during the first week after purchasing the vehicle to discuss our options and ask for guidance. Despite multiple attempts to contact both our salesperson and the sales manager, our calls went unanswered. Even if the answer had ultimately been that nothing could be done, we deserved the courtesy of a return phone call. Communication is one of the most important parts of customer service, especially when a customer is dealing with a life-changing medical emergency. When I was finally able to speak with our salesperson, the only option presented was to bring the vehicle in for an appraisal. I explained multiple times that I could not simply drive the vehicle in, so that suggestion was not realistic for our situation. I was also told it would be best to keep the vehicle for two years. While I understand that may have been his opinion, it did not address why we had reached out or the immediate circumstances our family was facing. When we returned to pick up our license plate, I shared my disappointment regarding the lack of communication. The response I received was simply, "I'm sorry." This dealership promotes itself as being "family friendly." Based on our experience, that was not reflected in the way our family was treated during an unexpected medical crisis. We were not expecting special treatment or an exception to dealership policy. We simply expected communication, honesty, and compassion. To be clear, this review is not because the dealership couldn't take the vehicle back. I understand vehicle purchases are governed by contracts and dealership policies. I didn't feel that he was trying to scam me nor pressure me into a car I didn't want. I worked with him in the past on getting myself into a car, but I didn't believe I was ready. Now I have a car I love and enjoy! He was patient and understanding throughout the whole experience.
