X3 dropped off for recall and the vehicle sat there one week. No loaner. Vehicle had been serviced one week prior at a different company and in excellent shape and now the vehicle is having major problems and needs $2500 worth of work. Told parts were switched out. They have been harshly dishonest. Had valve cover replaced. They handed me the keys back and the car would not lock and unlock due to some electrical issue: in their parking lot within mere seconds of them handing over my keys. Receipt read complimentary inspection. Where are the results? None because they damaged something. The car isn't functioning properly. They immediately said it is completely unrelated to the work they did. The car had the problem when they gave me the keys and before I could even get into the car. I had to climb through the passenger side and drive the 50ft or less from the parking spot to the bay to tell them. They wanted me to pay to diagnose the problem they caused. Continued to say the guy that parked my car and left the driver door locked and unable to unlock and the passenger and rear doors unlocked not able to lock with manual key or fob said there was nothing wrong when he had the car so even though it didn't leave the lot it must be my problem. The dash time and temp keep randomly switching from Fahrenheit to Celsius and back again and the radio randomly switches to Sirius radio. I left them the car because it can't be locked and not safe. They have only repeatedly told me it is unrelated while still not able to tell me what is causing it. They are determined to stick to their story regardless of implausibility and lack of car diagnosis. read more

This dealership thinks it's world class, nothing could be further from the truth. No returned phone calls from the service rep or service manager. No loaner cars, no rental car service, we can Uber you somewhere. 3 1/2 hours to get a tire changed, the tires were over inflated. The drivers seat and touch screen were in different positions then when the car was received, and whoever moved the vehicle left black smudges on the door handle and seat. This is totally unacceptable. A high class respected dealership would never return a vehicle in this condition. Unfortunately it's Santa Fe's only BMW option. read more

Dispicable and more manipulative now that I'm at the end of my lease. I can turn it in and lose money, pay a mandatory disposition fee, and start from scratch elsewhere with a new car. So I tried to buy it out. This was my experience.....the BMW payoff letter says X. Dealer added $2,096 worth of fees to buy it out. Apparently this is legal in New Mexico according to BMW corporate. In another state I could have just purchased it for X from corporate. After I complained to the local dealer, they agreed to drop the price to remove the added $1,312 of fees ONLY IF I finance the balance of the lease and keep the loan for 3 months before paying it off. They are more concerned about a pittance on their P&L rather than customer satisfaction. Very short sighted. Corporate says it's legal because of NM laws, and there is nothing they an do about it. So here's a dealer that's more concerned about a $600 profit to "cover their time" rather than treat a customer with consistency and respect. I called CA where I got the car, they said it's specific to this dealer. I talked to other high end dealers in town, and they also said it's specific to this dealer. Shame. If I had stayed in CA instead of moving to NM, this would have been straightforward with the original end of lease payout. So I now own this car that I have nothing but bad memories and horrible dealer experiences. Here are some more examples: - wouldn't remove the CA toll decal from my car window because "we're busy with other customers". All they needed was one minute and a blade. -wouldn't help me set the time - told me to google it. -can't tell me why the nav sends me in the wrong direction all the time even though they supposedly updated the software twice -car wash rarely works so that service /benefit is unreliable - they absolutely refuse to negotiate at all and add charges at will - wouldn't remove hundreds of dollars in fees UNLESS I agreed to finance the car instead of paying cash...anything to nickle and time a sale. So they could have removed the fees, but they refuse to. Is a few hundred dollars worth having a dissatisfied customer. Apparently so. - Corporate said the local dealer can do whatever they want in terms of pricing and terms. So where is the brand equity and support? Non existent. - They told me I needed and oil change so I made an appointment and came in, but that was a mistake. I didn't need the service. Can they not read their own computer? - They tried to do end of lease inspection at the wrong time, I had to tell them that the rules were within 60 days. How does the customer know their policies better then they do? -the navigation app stopped working, again, I was told to google it instead of them helping to fix it -tire pressure is constantly low, but I'm told "that's normal". I could go on....but overall, a miserable transition to New Mexico BMW. I called the dealer in CA where I got the car, and it seems all the registration, buy out, and maintenance issues are specific to my NM dealer experience. I can't wait to get rid of the car. It has nothing but bad memories dealing with these guys in Santa Fe. I hope their happy they have my money. They're so unwilling to assist or compromise with their customers, how do they expect andy loyalty or satisfaction. I agree with the other reviews - they need a grad level course in customer satisfaction. They're very pushy, arrogant, and short sighted. I rarely get onto Yelp to do a review, but if the only experience I had was this dealership, I would never buy a BMW again, and I have been a devoted customer for well over 25 years. First of all, congratulations to Trevor. I guess he is now the service manager, but he was our coordinator since moving to Santa Fe. He is the only bright spot and now we don't have him. Instead, we have some other guy who needs to learn a lot about customer service. Terrible person to be public facing. My HUD started acting up last year. When I asked them to take a look at it, a sales person went into the car and did all the things I know you are supposed to do, and it did not fix the issue. What did they do in response? Not a thing. Now, the car just got out of service for routine maintenance and I asked that they take a look at my Connected Drive app and help figure out why it is not recognizing my renewed subscription that I just paid for. No one there knows a thing about it, and provided no direction. Imagine, a dealership with service and they can't help you to utilize the things you paid for! And no other avenues were provided. Nothing at this dealership has been sterling, but this is quite ridiculous. I also have never once received the customer service survey that you get from any other service dealership after a visit. Had I received it, I would sure have something to say. My car is paid off as of last month. I am considering moving my business elsewhere and not buying another BMW. Very dissapointed in this business. Sold my 18 year old a car way over blue book value, and needing over 5000 plus in repairs within 3 months. unwilling to assist in any way and insist they did thorough inspection prior to sale. If purchasing from this company be sure to have the actual make dealership do inspection, within the 15 day warranty period, as I am certain they do not disclose defects on their used vehicles. I took my X5 in for warranty service. The car sat for a week. I finally called and was told I had to come in and drive the car around with the service tech. Did so and left the car there for another week. No work was done because they ordered the wrong parts and were waiting for the delivery of the right parts. Picked up the car and took it home to wait for a call that the right parts had been delivered. 10 days later, no call, no part, no warranty repairs. What is wrong with this place? read more

I was on a cross-country motorcycle trip, and as I was passing through New Mexico I realized that temperatures were dropping and rain was not a fun thing, and I needed a better riding jacket than I was currently wearing. I had tried another store in the area, but they had nothing that was even remotely suitable. My next try was Santa Fe BMW Motorcycles, which is now a separate building from the main BMW auto dealer, a block behind the main store, and combined with the Mini dealership owned by the same group. Note that I am not a BMW owner, so the brand doesn't mean anything to me in terms of what I wear. I was looking for function, not looks. I walkedin and started asking questions, and the salesman that was helping me did everything he could to find something suitable for me. He even approached things from the right angle, looking for something that was affordable first before going to the high-end BMW branded stuff. Unfortunately, there simply was nothing in my size (and we tried everything in the store). However, the salesman didn't stop. He offered to check with their sister store in Albuquerque, but as that was not the direction I was travelling I nixed that idea. He then suggested and sporting goods store up by the rail yard in Santa Fe where I might at least be able to find a decent wind breaker to add to what I was currently wearing, and some gloves that might be useful. He even provided printed-out directions for me to get there as I was not familiar with the area. OK, so I didn't actually buy anything from them, but I will say that their customer service was excellent. They took care of me, even though they couldn't provide the final product, and I value that in an operation as well! read more

This dealership needs a course in Customer Satisfaction! The long, long waits for routine service are painful. They don't even offer you anything to buy or eat while you grow old waiting for your oil change. Just ( lousy) coffee. They need to visit the Lexus dealership and take a lesson in Customer Satisfaction! Added to that, they don't offer a loaner car (which their Albuquerque counterpart does). I took my BMW X-3 in for annual maintenance. this included an Oil change, filter change and "Vehicle check" which not specified cost an extra $220.00. The total bill was $632.00. They did not wash the car because it was raining. But neither did the change the windshield wiper blades. Seems to me they should have done that if the rain prevented them from washing the car. My service advisor was identified only as #3. I dealt with a person named "Trevor, " He did not say if he was actually Advisor #3. I give up. I have driven BMW's since 2000, I am never going to this dealer again. read more

I have a great relationship with my dealer and service department in Studio City Ca ..... first name basis .... customer service is 110% ..... Last year I needed a simple oil change ..... was the worst customer service I've EVER had , they NEVER returned my call, couldn't find my car etc... Just last week I thought I'd try them again .... UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I asked if service was open Sat. for a simple oil change , he said yes ..... I said great , he said , his computer was down , and he would call back .... Recently contacted Santa Fe BMW about a CPO X1 they have listed for sale. They responded swiftly, offering to set up an appointment to test drive the vehicle. I didn't want to drive to Santa Fe unless I knew what sort of deal I could get on this particular vehicle. I asked one of the sales assistants to give me some hypothetical monthly payments, and the assistant was helpful with this task at first, but then they sort of just stopped communicating with me, and the last time I heard from them was about a week ago. I found that to be strange and very unprofessional. Only reason why I'm not putting one star is because another salesperson at the dealership was very helpful during a separate interaction. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of my car being totaled in one of those freak multi-car pileups a few months ago - and I wasn't thinking about purchasing a car as I had one that was still good and was paid for. I did get a no-fault settlement but at price of today's cars, I thought the amount would only buy me a problem. Besides, I was pretty traumatized and wasn't really in a hurry to get another car. Finally, I started feeling the inconvenience and had started looking. I hoped to find a really good quality vehicle, probably older but one-owner, low miles, well-cared-for. I surfed around online for about a month and there it was. I ended up buying a 10-year-old X3 - records checked out, Carfax report was good, the car drives like new and has not a mark on it - interior or exterior. James was great and spent time with me on my questions. When I decided to buy the car, Abraham was great with the financing. I had my settlement for a down payment and Abraham shopped around and got me great financing for the balance, within my budget. James waited well past closing time while we finished the paperwork. I had a rental car and he even drove the BMW to my house on the other side of town so I could get the rental car back home to turn in the next day, and I drove him back to the dealership. It was 7:45 p.m. - and they close at 5:00 p.m.! He never for a moment acted inconvenienced. He also gave me a full tutorial on how everything works since I'd never owned a BMW. Then I left a message for Jeremy, the service manager - he spent a good 20 minutes on the phone with me answering all my questions about service and maintenance and a couple of items I'd read about this car in automotive publications. Mind you I wasn't buying a $50K-$75K-$100K new BMW - but they treated me like I was, and they respected that I wanted a really good car that will be reliable and lasting but on a limited budget. I never felt pressured and I never felt they didn't need to bother with someone who wanted a great car for the amount of money I had to spend. If anything ever changes, then I can come back on here - but I can't say enough good about my experience and I'd give 6 stars if I could. read more

One of the best!! Had road damage to my BMW while traveling. They were excellent. Did the repairs quickly. The entire staff was just great, but especially my service agent. The price was very fair given I the short notice arrival with a damaged car. I was provided a lot of detailed information. They kept me informed timely. They worked hard to get me back on the road as quickly as possible The only downside was a "call center." The person I spoke to: didn't have a basic understand of automobiles; didn't seem to understand what I wanted as per when I was arriving or what I wanted; and had no clue about the area, such as where I was, when I would arrive or where I need to go after I dropped off the car. It seems he was reading off a script and each time I asked something that was not on that script he was at a loss, only to try another stock question or response. Despite the worfully poor "call center" the staff at the dealership was so exceptional that they compensated. I guess if you have such an outstanding group you don't have to care about such things as a frustrating and incompetent "call center." read more

Vacationing in Santa Fe. Car overheated, I found a leak in the reservoir near the filler cap. The folks and SF BMW had a part over-nighted in as the car is older and the part not common.the part was replaced rapidly and correctly. They did a pressure check of the system and found another leak which required replacement of the radiator. Again because of the age of the car they did not have one in stock but managed to find one in Albuquerque and had it delivered within 2 hours. I asked if it would be wise at this point to change the water pump and they agreed that it was the wise thing to do. NOTE: These are known problems on the model I have, and the mileage on the car was correct for the problems to appear. They provided me a loner car, and made room in their full schedule to accomplish the work. I was even asked to text them when I got home so they would know that all went well. F.W.I.W. this is similar to a situation two years ago when their performance and followup was just as this time. Brought my 2005 32i there for a tune-up. Was told that my entire car engine was worthless due to rodent damage. A guy named Gil told me it would take up to 5000 to fix, that it was trashed but he could give me $500 for the parts. (Then we noticed another car in the lot exactly like it, same model, same color, same year. Hmmmm. I got the car out of there, took it to firestone where they repaired everything for 1200 (included new tires) and the car runs great. Shady, shady, shady!!! read more

Had an issue of adjusting the headrest in my new car. Came into this dealership before they opened Monday only to be rebuffed on my efforts to get a quick adjustment. Seems they were booked up and did not have time to fit me in. I can understand that but then as a new owner I had some questions on navigation and was told they used to have a genius for helping customers but no longer no one to help me ..I expected a " sorry about that " follow through but thank heaven not here . Totally bad experiences here. Blew out my windshield with a caned air container a employee left on my dash over the weekend . Put a hole in my dash and blew out the window. And the wiper . Always treated like I was not a high priority because I was young. Who knows . I see the general manager taking new vehicles home all the time . And he drives like a bat out of hell in them . Took my BMW X3 here because the Service Engine Soon light had come on the night before. Despite a packed schedule, they did a great job accommodating me urgently as I was on a cross country road trip and didn't have time in Santa Fe. However, I think they were too busy to do a thorough job. They found a leak in the radiator and changed it - they said they couldn't find anything that would trigger the Service Engine Soon light, so they reset it. After less than 5 hours on the road, the light came on again and the system still looses coolant. So they didn't really fix anything, but charged me 1050 dollars anyway. I tried calling the service advisor to tell him this, but he haven't returned my call ever since. I would expect a better job from a BMW dealership. Also, if you are interested in a detailed explanation to the issues in your car, this is not the place. All communication goes through an advisor who then delivers / receives messages from the technician. A lot of important points / observations will get lost in this transfer. BUT Trevor, my service advisor, did a great job trying to solve the issues. Just a shame his technician had a bad day in the workshop. read more

We were driving our 2008 535i down I-25 toward Albuquerque when ascending a hill in southern Colorado, the turbocharger and waste gate failed. This allowed us to keep driving with reduced power. My wife did a local search, found Santa Fe BMW, called, explained the problem and arranged a service visit for the next morning. We took in the car, the problem was quickly diagnosed, and we got a loaner car. Two days later the original turbocharger and waste gate had been replaced. The waste gate had made noise for some time, but our Colorado BMW dealer was oblivious to it. Fortunately, the repairs and loaner were covered by an extension of the BMW warranty due to BMW's realizing that the problem was systemic in 2008 535i cars. My real point is that Santa Fe BMW's service and handling of the issue were better than we have ever experienced in northern Colorado or the Santa Clara county California where we lived previously. The service coordinator was exceptional, the service was efficient, and we were kept informed of progress as the repairs proceeded. Wow! read more

I had to sit waiting for 3 hours while they tried to approve one man, yet instead of calling me to work out my options they sold it out from under me to another man WITHOUT EVEN CONTACTING ME! DRIVERS BEWARE! If you are in or passing through Santa Fe in your BMW and need assistance, DO NOT call this dealership. Our parking brake light malfunctioned on our way through Santa Fe. We called for assistance, spoke with Daniel in service, and got the biggest runaround as to why they could not service the car the following day. Ok, I get it that clients have appointments and walk-ins are difficult to accommodate but we were willing to leave the car with them and proceed on our trip in a rental, returning 12 days later, and were told we could not leave the car there that long. Huh??!! No service, no satisfaction and a big black check mark against this dealership. Thank goodness our dealership in Denver, Murray BMW, doesn't treat its customers this way.
