Such unique and delicious drinks, desserts, and pastries - it can definitely feel overwhelming if it's your first time. My husband and I probably paged through their menu (more like a catalog) for about five minutes before deciding on the Lotus ice cream sundae. The dessert shop originally started out in Kuwait before expanding to the US, so the menu has a lot of awesome Middle Eastern flair, but essentially Lotus is their biscoff cookie. We chose the bigger size which we thought was manageable if not still fairly small but ended up being more than enough! Drizzled over soft serve is a mouthwatering melted cookie butter and a perfect biscoff cookie and crumbles to top it off. The juices, smoothies, and other drinks + chocolates looked so amazing, we will absolutely be back to try more things on the menu soon!

My plans changed on Saturday, thanks to a three-hour flight delay getting to the Twin Cities from Toronto. When I finally got into a rental vehicle at 1 pm, I decided to drive to West Saint Paul to check out this place. This nutrition studio is next to H&R Block in a huge plaza. I found a parking spot steps away from the main entrance. It occurred to me when I had parked and looked at the storefront that I have been here. It used to be Hangout Nutrition. I was trying to find a place to get healthy shakes and teas with no to low sugar in them back in November 2021. I tried a tea from Hangout Nutrition. It was okay, but it wasn't as yummy as what I get from ZeeV's Nutrition in Toronto. The Bar Nutrition has taken over the space that Hangout Nutrition once occupied. I was immediately greeted by Ashley. I got to meet Tony for the first time, who was working behind the bar with her. The space feels cozier and more welcoming. Ashley let me know that Liz made a lot of design changes. I liked them. Ashley was happy that I knew about Hangout Nutrition. She used to work at another business in this plaza, and would get shakes and teas from this place. She agreed that they weren't as yummy as those from NCN. The cool thing about this second location is that the menu is identical to the one at NCN. It makes things easier. I got the pineapple dreamer tea. It consists of pomegranate, raspberry, coconut, and pineapple flavours. It's essentially a pina colada with a pomegranate-raspberry twist. Tony made my tea. It was awesome. I loved it. Sadly, it's only available till September. I have never sat at any of their studios to enjoy a drink. I did on Saturday, mainly because I wanted to post a few stories on Instagram to help spread the word about this new location. There isn't any guest wifi at this studio yet. However, it's next to H&R Block that I used its guest wifi. I paid with a credit card. You can also order ahead using the Engage app. Sadly, it doesn't support credit cards with a Canadian billing address, so I can't use it. Even though my plans had changed getting down to the Twin Cities, visiting this new studio made my day. Congrats, Liz and Ashley! I had a great experience with my tea, and look forward to trying the shakes and getting more teas. (378)

She is the mastermind behind many of the yummy recipes at NCN that I was excited to check out this place. I dropped by during my first full day in the Twin Cities. Simpley Nutrition is located in Inver Grove Heights (IGH). It's perfect when I am on my way to Rochester. It's also nice to say that I have visited another place in IGH other than Target. This place is in a plaza, across from Cub Foods, including its pharmacy. I had no problem finding a parking spot steps away from the main entrance. I backed into the spot and walked in. I got to meet Ashley's husky, who has the most beautiful piercing eyes and greeted me so warmly. It was great seeing her again, but in a different nutrition studio. The cool thing is that she has the same December shake and tea menus at both NCN and Simpley Nutrition. It makes her life easier. It also makes mine easier ordering at either place. I forgot to ask her about the name Simpley. I know that there is a lake nearby called Simley Lake. I need to find out what the P stands for. I'm thinking Protein. I got the following drinks: - Christmas carol tea - Christmas crack (Heath) shake I also got a couple of cake batter donuts on the house. The idea is that you sign in on the touchpad with your phone number. I'm already registered in the system, so I selected my name and I was good. If you're new, you fill in your name to register and you're done. i paid with a credit card. I was able to tip, too. Ashley didn't take long to make my drinks. I asked that the whipped cream be held on my shake. Done! I thanked her, said goodbye to her husky, and headed down to Rochester with my drinks. The best part was sipping and finishing my shake for most of my hour drive down to Rochester. The Christmas crack shake tastes just like a Heath bar. I loved the toffee bits. There was some chocolate and chopped nuts. So good! It made my drive down great. I had my Christmas carol tea for the rest of my trip down to northern Iowa and back up to the Twin Cities. It had peach, mango, raspberry, and orange. I loved it. It had all my favourite flavours rolled into a tea. I like the sports jerseys that are framed on the walls. The Minnesota Wild is featured a few times, which made my day. It's a deep studio. I liked being there. It felt comfortable. I'll be back. It's great that I have another nutrition studio for no to low sugar in teas and shakes. (491)

If this company has cameras with audio, I would encourage them to listen back to order 6525 that was placed today, March 19th, 2026 around 5:45 PM. I came to support this establishment because I have yet to do so since the opening, and was excited to contribute to the success of a black owned business. The grounds were clean, and the music was a vibe. I placed my order at the Kiosk, and paid nearly $25 for a $9 juice and $10 smoothie with tax. Both products were wonderful. However, that's not my concern. The service was without a doubt unprofessional and uncomfortable. The man serving the community today began to chat with me, catching up because we were familiar with one another from my previous employer. After asking where I was working now, he began to solicit me with job opportunities within Life Juices and on his own personal product line, offering me $500 to assist him with marketing. (Mind you, this is very similar to the conversation we had when I met him the first time, he let me know then that he's co-owner of Life Juices and also offered me job opportunities.) When I declined, he asked why do "black women" act like this or that (I don't remember exactly what was said) At this point, I'm annoyed and offended. After I respectfully read him his rights, I told him I don't want him to make my juice and I'd like my money back. He randomly referred to himself as a Pharaoh and let me know that he would begin making my order. As I'm waiting for my order, two other patrons walk up to place an order. The man serving took this as an opportunity to poke fun at me with one of them, saying I don't recognize a Pharaoh when I see one, and dapping up the stud. Now, I did my best to be a good sport. They began to joke that I don't even know what Pharaoh means. I decide that I'm not going to pay attention anymore. As I bend down to give my three year old juice, the patron leaned over to ask "do you know what pharaoh mean" I responded and said "it means King". She then returned to the conversation with the man working discussing how women need to do better when they see a Pharaoh (that's just a paraphrase) Now if you get a chance to listen to the audio, I was referred to out of my name during this conversation (meaning the b word) and I'm trying to figure out how did we get here when I just came to order some juice that I didn't even want in the first place- just supporting a local business. SMH I'm so upset, honestly. The audacity of these people to refer to me out of my name in front of my three year old son was so distasteful. The audacity to include this random patron that I don't know to poke fun at any person, but me..? a person who just supported your establishment. All because I declined your advances? If you're reading this, shame on you. Do better.

It allowed me to take a look at the other businesses in this plaza as I waited. Two doors down from it is North Country Nutrition (NCN). I wondered whether it was similar to Zeev's Nutrition Studio that I typically go to in Toronto. Sure enough, I did some research online while killing time at the drive-thru, and it had healthy shakes and drinks. Cool! On Saturday morning, I decided to check out NCN. I found a parking spot steps away from the store and backed into it. I was the only customer at the store at around 10 am. The woman, who later introduced herself as Liz, was so friendly and warm. I loved the cozy vibes that this place had, from the couch with cute pillows and other Christmas decorations, to the northern vibes that you feel with canoe paddles and loons. We both ended up sharing where we are from. She's originally from Alexandria, which is roughly a 2.5-hour drive north of the Twin Cities. I indicated that I knew where it was when I used to drive between Rochester and Winnipeg. I cut through it. She loved that I knew where she grew up. The coziness comes from living by water, which shows. She was great explaining her shakes and teas. I am a tea person. I saw watermelon Jolly Rancher as a cold tea. I knew that I wanted it. So, she made me one. It was in a mega format that I'm used to. It was just over $5, which is reasonable. I paid with a credit card. It was easy. I tapped and was done. I thanked her for my drink and headed to my car. I sipped my watermelon Jolly Rancher tea throughout the day. It does taste like the candy, minus the sugar. The flavours were yummy. I was a happy camper. I am glad that I discovered NCN. It takes five minutes to drive over here from the hotel, which I love. The parking lot is small, but I managed to find a spot just fine. I wish that I had found it sooner on this trip. I'll need to return and try more drinks. This place closes at 4 pm most days. It's also closed on Sundays. (440)
