I've been going to Santa Fe transmission for a few years. They're very reliable, reasonably priced and their work is great.

I dropped my truck off with Bill. I asked him to check my transmission. He said sure I just needed to drop it off in the morning. He called later that afternoon. He mentioned she (my truck) was ok. I then mentioned my problem was I had to warm up my truck for 15 minutes and then she would be good to drive. Having to do this every time I had to go to work or after work I'd sit there for a while was becoming annoying. Bill kept the truck for over night to see how she would run in morning. . Bill drove her and he expierenced the same thing I did. Sure enough it was the transmission. I took her home and drove it about a week so I could notify work. It was going to cost me 4,800.00 for a rebuilt 3 year warranty. Bill called and said there was another piece that needed repairing so I paid a little over $5.000. All in all I liked the fact Bill had my truck ready in 4 days was fantastic he originally quoted me 5 days. I had the best quality care for my vehicle. Bill was very professional.

I have to say, Bill is a great guy, even though the shop is closed, Bill has been helping me via text and helping me understand how to approach fixing my car. He was upfront and shared he couldn't repair my transmission, but did recommend how to go about finding someone to do it. Would highly recommend Bill and Cres-O-matic for his honesty more than anything.

When we got the car back, I was very disappointed with the shifts....not at all crisp. The mechanic at the main shop told me, "I know how to adjust the linkage, when I re-install it." Well, he did not. Made the trek to Santa Fe Springs and Julian did his magic. This is not a race car, but shifts like a Torque Flite. The man knows his stuff.

I was first introduced to his shop that built high performance and very reliable transmissions for hot rods and classics. Sure enough that is exactly what I got. Just talking to him you know he is extremely knowledgeable and cares about the work he does. Once I got the care running and trying out a few other guys who where "supposed" to have the skill to work on my high performance vehicle I ended up going back to Julian. Boy did he see the lack of quality of workmanship by the other shops. He was able to fix the issues in a timely manner, was fair about the price and took me on a test drive of my own car that seemed like he got me an additional 100HP just from his skill and knowledge of my car. Needless to say I will not trust anyone else to work on my classics/hot rod car. Thanks Julian for all of the great work and the additional education that will keep me safe and able to enjoy the 425HP performance.

I replaced it and it persisted so I bring it here. They took a look at it and let me know my car needed a valve cover replacement, new spark plugs, and to replace the sensor I had just replaced. There might have been more but this was almost a year ago so I don't exactly remember everything we did. Fine, I trust them because this place has been highly reviewed and it seemed very professional. So I spent about $1500 on repairs. Maybe a week later the same code comes on so I'm confused. I take it back to them and it takes days for them to get to the car because their "diagnostic tech" is really busy. Fine. So they call me and tell me that the code I'm getting is because my timing chain is fucked and it's going to cost $4500 to fix it... Which I don't have. So I sit on it for a few days while I see if I can come up with the money or what I'm going to do, before they threaten to charge me a storage fee for having my car with them. Fine, I understand they don't have all the space in the world. So I get to the shop pay their $150 diagnostic fee and try to take the car. The battery is dead. They gave me a jump and I drove home but there was no check engine light. I found it weird and thought it was a fluke. Long story short I replaced the battery, battery cable, oil, alternator and the car is just fine. I've been driving it for almost 8 months. I put in maybe $500 in parts. While I am trying to figure out what the problem is I message them and ask if they charged the battery, or if the battery died on them at all. No answer despite multiple messages. And this is what bothers me you have no problem messaging me multiple times to threaten me with fees but can't respond to one simple message. My point is this shop is shady. They wanted to upsell me on expensive repairs I didn't need. Now I'm not even sure if I truly needed those $1500 in repairs the first time. How do I know it was an upsell? The guy who gave me my car back said, "we just go based on what the scanner says." And that's when I knew this shop sucked. Why would I be charged a ridiculous $150 fee for you to scan my car? Personally that doesn't seem like diagnostic work (at least a proper one). I feel like some of the things I discovered on my own an experienced mechanic would have found. The car had an electrical problem. In between those two visits I took another car to them to see if they could do a transmission drain and fill. I put that in the appointment request and I made the appointment days in advance. When I get there they say they can't work on the car because it has a lot of miles on it, which again is fine but why are you making me waste my time and bring my car to you if you aren't going to work on it. Do you not have someone who checks the following days' appointments? Why does your website allow me to make the appointment if it doesn't meet your shops criteria. All in all I say stay away and find a place with honest mechanics.
