I called A-1 Muffler Express looking to change my OEM mufflers and Coil overs. Spoke with Yen and he was super helpful with his recommendations and availability. He did warn me that it could be a little wait due to high volume of clients. I ended up going with a muffler delete and replaced my suspension with coil overs. Yen took care of the muffler delete and Lee and two other very helpful gentlemen took care of my coil overs. I have to say I am very satisfied with the quality of work for the value. They quoted me way under anyone else that I had called prior to going with them. I will recommend A-1 Muffler Express to all of my friends and family. They all make you feel that you're part of the family. They offered me coffee and cold water while I waited for my car to be done. Need to get my biennial smog and the P0705 error code popped up with my check engine light. Which means I can't pass a smog test until I can clear the code. The code pretty much means I need to replace my catalytic converter LOL. Apparently my car has two catalytic converters. I called around and some places were trying to tell me that both needed to be replaced. Found A-1 on yelp and I'm so thankful that I listened to the great reviews. Yen was responsive and told me that with the P0705 code, only the front cat would need to be replaced but he'd check the back just in case. Luckily I only needed the front and he quoted me a great price! Super affordable and there's couches you can sit and wait while they work on your car. I was in and out in less than an hour. When an auto expert suggests a spot - you listen. And I'm glad I did. My husbands 2004 Toyota Tacoma wasn't passing smog...don't even get me started on that situation, I'll throw this laptop at a wall. Anyway, my dad has a guy he always goes to with smog related issues and when he saw what the readings said, he told me to call Yen. He said Yen is the most honest and cheapest but that he's a straight shooter who knows his stuff - I knew I was going to be ok. Sure enough, I gave Yen a call, he told me over the phone what to expect and when I arrived he explained everything to me so I knew what we were doing and why. He replaced the Catalytic Converter (in under an hour), told me what I needed to do to get it reset, and said I should come back to check with him before I tried to smog it. When I returned, he realized that part of the issue was that my sensor was dead. He told me what to get and sent me to an auto parts store. When I returned he installed it and sent me on my way. He also didn't charge me for the labor of doing that - which is so above and beyond that I was floored. Long story short - we passed smog. And now, I know where do go for any muffler or exhaust needs. This place is amazing and helpful. read more

I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing exhaust type repairs. The place is very reasonably priced and the service is quick, but also done properly. I called and spoke with Yen, the owner and he gave me an estimate to connect new dual exhaust piping and Flow master mufflers to a 73 Chevy C-10 pick up, 350 engine. The job was explained well and completed within a few hours after I dropped it off. I can't say enough, the location and first look of the shop is deceiving, but trust me they know that they are doing. Its my second time doing service with A-1 Muffler Express. The first time was about 7 months ago when I took my Honda fit to repair a muffler delete that another shop did a lousy job on. A-1 re-did it and made it look cleaner. This time I took my corolla in for an exhaust install and it took less then 15 mins. The price is fair he wont rip you off on installation. They didn't have any that would fit at the time, but they offer installation of your own.
