I called the office Monday morning and was given an appointment with Dr. Bach for that same morning. I was nervous about getting a front tooth bonded, and had never met Dr. Bach before. As usual, the office got me in right on time so that I had no need to wait to go back. As soon as I met Dr. Bach, she put me at ease. After the appointment, I was told I had two cavities, which shocked me- i have never had cavities and I take really good care of my teeth. I decided to get a second opinion from two other dentists, and both confirmed that I have zero cavities. Because of this experience, I felt uncomfortable with the level of care and professionalism. When we got a collections letter, we called and they said don't worry about it and that they would send it to the Navy. We continued to get the bills until the second collections letter arrived and we just paid it to be done with it. This has been going on for over 6 months. For those who aren't familiar with military medical, they refer you out to civilian practices when they don't have capacity to get you in. All required medical care is covered by the military for Active Duty personnel. Since my husband was retiring, that's what the Navy did. It was a requirement for his discharge from Active Duty and in no way his responsibility to pay. It's really frustrating that this small business could not get their communication figured out, and now we have to try and get reimbursed $1,000 from the military.
