I highly recommend the professionals at Santiago's Landscape Services. My parents' house sits on 1/3 acre with many trees, and the yard had been let go quite badly for decades. After getting a few quotes for some initial tree work, I hired Santiago and his team to remove a dangerous limb over the garage and balance the oak tree that threatened the roof. They got the work done promptly and for a fair price, and, most importantly, they did it right. We were so impressed, that I called them back for a quote on a bigger project. There were several trees that needed shaping to reduce sail and let more light in, some that needed to come out entirely, stumps to be ground out, massive yard cleanup, and a pathway toward formal landscaping. Speaking with Santiago, I told him our budget, and he was able to craft a plan that prioritized the critical work while preparing the way to restore the yard with water-efficient landscaping. Clearing away at least 20 years of wild growth took several days, and a large team, but they got it done on time and absolutely perfect. One of the team was an amazing arborist who knows how to make a neglected tree healthy, balanced, and beautiful again. Every team member knew the plants they were working with. The 80 year old elm now looks fantastic, the 65 year old magnolia is putting out flowers again, the ancient oaks now have the proper canopy, and the fruit trees are putting out new shoots. The water-hungry weeds have been removed, and the yard graded and prepared. The next step will be to install drip irrigation and a blend of wildflowers and succulents to define the paths and entertainment portions of the yard, and after seeing the other projects Santiago has handled, we will stick with him. He is knowledgeable and able to do many things other than just the weekly stuff like look after the trees, sprinklers, create planters and elaborate pathways, stairway, fencing, etc. No complaints after all these years and after having first tried a couple of other people... plus his prices are reasonable.
