Like a joke lol, instead of telling me they made a mistake they just said it will be all set in a few minutes. Asked for my money back and the counter girl just tried repeating themselves. Asked a 3rd and final time as I was on my lunch break from work and losing patience. Finally decided to give me my money back after the counter girl got a manager. I've ordered from here multiple times. I guess you get what you pay for because the food really is cheap. $6.25 for a small cheese pizza. I would rather pick up my order than get it delivered because when I ordered over the phone, the woman told me 30-45 minutes when it was actually an hour and 10 minutes and her computer was showing it had already been delivered. Once it arrived, the only hot item was the pizza. The chicken nuggets and fries were cold and soggy. It's almost they didn't even cook them. When I lived in Pawtucketville I was a regular here! 9/13/18: finally returned for one last trip home and one last santoros Italian sub with everything..... and it didn't disappoint. I told the guy that I hadn't had a santoros sub in many decades and of course he could have cared less.... and never even looked at me. Great food and quick delivery, no problem until there was a problem. I had ordered 2-3 times a week ( usually $30+ per order) for over a year when I didn't get a slice of carrot cake I had paid for. I thought no problem I would ask the next time I ordered. 2 days later I called and told the girl. She put me on hold while she went to "look at a list". What this list is I have no idea but apparently I wasn't on the list. I asked so I can't get the cake I was missing and was told " I can't just give you free cake" free being cake I had already paid for. I have worked customer service in the food industry before doing it for the government for 30 years. Been here two times. The first time I got a small chicken Teriyaki calzone. That was delicious. Did not need any dipping sauce for it at all. The second time I went it was quite the uncomfortable experience. A girl was squatting taking a piss in the parking lot for starters. It took 35 minutes for me to get my small calzone. Everyone inside looked either miserable or extra excited. Very sketchy. However, the small Mac & Cheese calzone I got was unbelievable. That was so good. All the different cheeses mixed together was awesome. I also loved the texture of the pasta it worked really well with the calzone dough. To sum up Santoro's does not have the most inviting atmosphere but the food is undeniably amazing and a few dollars cheaper than other places I think. It was my first time ordering from Santoro's. I ordered delivery so I was a bit hesitant to order anything that would be ruined if it was cold. I ordered a hot sub and a calzone. Both were absolutely great. Santoro's didnt handle the delivery itself, so I will skip that part. The food was excellent. The cheese in the calzone was not greasy. The sub roll for my bacon cheeseburger sub was fresh and soft, a great surprise. I won't hesitate next time! read more

Last Saturday night at around 12:30AM, I placed a delivery order to Santoro's via Uber Eats (PLEASE AVOID USING THEM) and I ordered 2 (10pcs) wing plates WITH FRIES and a steak and cheese sub. The restaurant closes at 1AM. The food was delivered a little after 1AM. I had 6 hungry nieces expecting 20 wings and 2 orders of fries, but there were no fries at all for each of the 2 wing plates orders. We were bummed. Since I knew it was too late to call Santoro's. I notified Uber Eats about the missing food. Mind you, each wing plate was $14.99 each. Total with tip for the entire order was $56 and some change. I've dealt with food delivery issues in the past before with other apps such as DoorDash, GrubHub, etc and they immediately issue a credit or refund, no questions asked. This was NOT the case with Uber Eats. They told me I needed to contact Santoro's to try to have them remedy the issue. I told them they were already closed but they still said I needed to go through them first. So the next morning I call the shop. I was put on hold for over 3-4 minutes after telling the guy I had an issue with my order from the night before, only to be told to call back after 4PM for the manager. He needed to place me on hold for that long to tell me to call back. Nice. So I call back after 4PM and spoke with this "manager". I explained the situation and right off the bat, he seemed annoyed and asked me what I wanted. When I told him he can either remake my order with fries or refund me, he outright refused to remake my order or at least refund me for one of the $14.99 wing plate. When I asked why were my fries completely missing from both orders in the first place, his response was, "oh ya know sometimes when it's close to closing time, we just give you what we have." I was flabbergasted! You admit to not wanting to give your customer what they paid for and when they ask to be refunded or made whole, you refuse??? What kind of person would think that this is an acceptable business practice? You're willing to lose a customer over some wings and fries?!?!? When I contacted Uber Eats and explained how the manager responded, they also said they couldn't do anything for me as well since my exact wing plates weren't offered on the menu without fries, so they have no way of refunding me the correct amount. Absolute insanity! I immediately deleted the Uber Eats app from my phone. That will be the last time I ever order from this shady pizza shop and Uber Eats. CROOKS! read more

Oh Santoro's. How I love your steak subs and your super sketchy vibe. I also like the fact that nothing has changed since I've been going to go you as a small kid. The same dated decor, same people working behind the counter, and the same people hanging out in the booths talking to the employees who never seem to order anything. I even think that is the same not cleaned up spilled soda on the floor next to one of the booths. So while this place is a total dive they make the best steak subs around and the prices are very cheap. The cajun fries are also superior to anywhere else around. I also like that they stay open super late even on weeknights. This makes a great option for a late night diner in Lowell. So embrace the atmosphere and enjoy your steak sub. read more

My Dad loves this place because its been there forever and he's been going there for years. Their subs are so freaking good! The Roast beef sub is amazing, it's shaved thin and you can get whatever extras you want. I like mine with tomatoes, pickles, mayo and cheese. And a little salt and pepper too! My other fave is the steak and cheese with mushrooms, peppers and onions. The veggies are cooked enough, the cheese is melty and the steak is so good. It's no longer that close to me or my dad, but somehow we get there once and a while. Basically one of those places you'll go out of your way for because it's that good. read more

Cash only business folks, late nights on Friday and Saturday can be colorful, but I know for a while they had a police detail at night. Honestly, I don't think it's anything to fret about. Santoro's holds a spot in the legendary trinity of late night eating in Lowell. My go to order is the Italian, great bread, dressed all the way with oil, salt, and pepper. Not the best Italian I've ever had, but the best you are going to get in the area. Chunk Cheesesteak is also very good as is the pizza. One of the only places you can get a linguica sub in Lowell as well, try it out with peppers and onions. Sides are cheap and plentiful. Long John cold subs are their 30" inch subs for 20 bucks. Great deal if you are having a gathering and need something quick and fast. If the show Wings taught me anything it's that people respond to a big sandwich, always a crowd pleaser. read more

This was my first time here, we came with family and I have to say, it was AMAZING! My first thought was the place was clean, and had a good amount of seating. We all ordered the chunk steak. They were all made to perfection. I've never had one of these before, in fact I've never even heard of "chunk steak" but I will definitely be back. We also ordered fries, and they were all crispy, just the way I like them. Why am I giving 4 stars then? Now it's metiocure food at increased prices. Our order was around $45 which I paid w/card, signed on delivery guys phone after hitting zero as I gave him cash tip. Next day, notice on my bank acct total was $50 so he added his own additional tip. Pretty sure that's called theft. I had to cut our pizza bcuz they didn't even cut thru the crust. Phoned in order...very simple: Small mozzarella sticks and small turkey sub only mayo. 20 minutes from work to pick up the order, 20 minutes home found I was given a wrap of some sort, not a turkey sub. 20 minutes back...now 40 minutes have passed since the first pickup of order. 2 employees laughed while shouting we knew you would be back! They proceeded to take the correct sub (I presume) that they made what is now 60 minutes ago and rebag the now cold mozzarella sticks with it. Really? I paid them for a HOT food item. It is now cold due to their error and they expect me to just take it and drive another 20 minutes home so I can eat what should be a hot food item that is now 60 minutes cold. They were PAID for a hot meal so I would not have to cook it myself! Unfortunately, this is the third foul up at Santoro's in 3 consecutive weeks. Keep the now hot cold sub and now cold hot sticks and even go ahead and keep the cash....because it is the last of MY cash you will ever see. UNSANITARY! INFESTED! I worked here for two days and quit. This is by far the nastiest restaurant establishment I have ever been employed by. The storage room and freezer both have mice droppings and there are sticky traps with mice every morning. I was disgusted.
