Bento Box chicken Teriyaki with mixed Tempura.

Came here during the week between the hours of 6 to 7 pm. My son was craving Ramen. Sadly was one of the worst Ramen's we have tried. I had the bento box and the chicken was not good and the spicy tuna roll was just overly spicy and meh. I was not impressed by any of the food. Even the side salad that comes with the bento box was not good, typically I like the tempura and side salad just not here. There was only one other table of customers before us (a family of about 8). The adults were talking pretty loud and I can hear their conversations about other people's relationships from across the room. No other customers came in during the time we were there. Maybe they were having an off day. Maybe they have different cooks during certain times of the week that are better but I don't think I will come back here unless someone brought me and treated me to eat here to give them another chance. We didn't finish the food just paid and tipped and left. I ended up having to go to In and Out to get us burgers for dinner. The only thing I really liked here was the nice friendly and speedy service we received.

I am such a foodie and I like to try different places just to see how they taste. Today while looking through Yelp I found this small cute sushi place and OMG it's good! I Recommend trying the Mexican roll and the spicy garlic edamame. I have to say for being my first time here the service was absolutely amazing. Thank you Vivian for always being so attentive to me I appreciate you and the excellent service you provided me! Unfortunately, while I was there, I experienced a rude customer and didn't like the way she approached the situation. She could've been much more respectful to Vivian and a bit more understanding. I do have to say Vivian handled it well and killed her with kindness. Honestly, she is what customer service has always represented and we need more of her in the restaurant industry! Lastly,I really liked the inside because it was small and the ambience was beautiful.

Was in. The mood to try a new sushi place and this was close to work. We were warmly greeted by the waitress and seated right away. The restaurant had plenty of seating and looked clean and homey. We loved that they had lots of lunch special options. We ordered the salmon teriyaki, tempura and California roll lunch special. It came with miso soup and salad. The miso soup was delicious! Not salty at all. Then when our meal came my co workers and I were all impressed by the portions of our lunch ! Definitely worth the price we paid !!the salmon was perfectly cooked and the teriyaki sauce was not too sweet or too salty. The tempura was hot and crispy and the California roll had a perfect ratio of sushi rice to filling . We will be making this sushi place one of our regular lunch options for sure!

What can I say ? I'm addicted like that song and I just can't get enough. I just can't get enough ! Lol No seriously, I am. The rolls taste fresh they always modified my order cuz I can't have flour, no tempura, I'm not crying :,( I mean I am :( I also don't get it fried. Weird ? Maybe but I love it. So basically, it's just a California roll woth cream cheese, and spicy tuna on the outside. Maybe they can name it after me haha The Lupita Roll ! Lol Pssst You need a roll like this in the menu ;) I wish I could order with baked salmon ! That would be yummy too. Hint hint ! First time getting the fried rice. It was a 2fer can't say no. It was good but I think the black stuff on top which looked like sesame seeds were too salty. Check out this place I think it's better than the other place I used to go to. Not saying any names but by Applebees. I just wish they had a Victoria Secret Roll like my first favorite Sushi spot for Holics lol. If you try let me know if you liked what you ordered and if you're a little crazy like me & modified your order. SYOY Let's be friends! I need gluten free friends to go eat ! Ciao ! PS why not a 5 ? I ask for no wasabi nor hot sauce. They keep giving me. I don't want it ! But I do want extra ginger. That's it !

Ordered through Uber eats and I'm glad I picked this spot. Everything was packaged nicely and well prepared. Lobster roll: it was actually lobster not crawfish. Really good and the lobster tasted fresh. Spicy tuna roll: fresh, well prepared. Really good as well. Tempura roll: it was buy 1 get one, great price for 2 roll. Big pieces of shrimp tempura inside.

The wife and I decided to try this for dinner. Great small local sushi restaurant. Very clean and well kept. Servers were very attentive and courteous. Food was amazing. Great flavors, fresh fish. Will definitely be back.

I stopped by for dinner the other day. The restaurant is very nice inside. There is a lot of beautiful art on the walls. The service was very efficient. In under 5 minutes, I was seated, had water, and an order placed. For the appetizer, I ordered the spicy edamame. I also ordered a sushi set with 8 pieces of sushi from the dinner special menu. I also ordered the Moana Roll from the regular menu. The spicy edamame came out first, along with the miso soup that comes with the sushi set. The edamame was very flavorful. It had garlic and Japanese chilies. The bottom is a bit oily. I suggest tapping off the edamame on the secondary plate provided. The miso soup was good; It was standard in flavor. The sushi set came out next. The fish tasted fresh. I also appreciated the variety of fish served. I enjoyed dipping the pieces in wasabi. The California Roll was good. The avocado made it taste creamy. The Moana Roll was good. I'm not big on sauces on sushi rolls, but the sauce on the roll was good. It tasted like a dressing. The spicy tuna was creamy. I'm looking forward to the next visit and trying different items.

Cute and clean restaurant and I was surprised at the quality of the fish. No wait time on a weekday lunch. Was promptly greeted and seated They have a good selection of rolls, both fresh and tempera. I do recommend the hamachi sake roll. It's simple but tasted great. The sun kissed roll has a lot of sauce on it, which I found a bit strong. Lots of pickled onions on top which were nice to snack on. Each piece of fish is the sashimi combo is very fresh. Would definitely get again. They have lunch combos as well which I'll be sure to try in the future. Will be returning in the future to satisfy my sushi cravings.

By far my favorite Sushi restaurant in town. We routinely order the garlic edamame & gyoza to start.. both delicious. Sushi rolls are always fresh, delicious, and beautifully displayed. Staff is friendly and attentive in this smaller restaurant, where crowds are never too big. I have yet to have a bad meal or experience here.. highly recommend for a local sushi night out.

I ordered for takeout and they had me standing in the front counter where there were no seats. There was clearly space enough to put 213 chairs for those ordering takeout.When I asked for a seat they just ignored me and hurried to attend to those seated or go to the kitchen. If had to wait standing for 25 minutes. I wouldn't mind the wait if only I was offered a seat. Bad customer service!!!! read more

Late posting, Really impressive sushi in the area, the staff is so nice and friendly. I was driving by the area a week ago after visiting my family, then their ALL YOU CAN EAT sign caught my eyes. I walked in, I didn't expect too much becaus it was AYCE, but then the food and service really got me good. Fishes were all fresh, and the chef and waitress were so excellent. If you tell the chef about your preference, he will give you some great recommendation. The chef Charlie made me Blossom, Venice, Islands, Loco Taco and Crispy rice with spicy tuna; those were looking pretty and taste even better than looking. You gotta check out the place. Really is a bomb! I will definitely stick to this place. read more

I cannot tell you how great it felt to finally find a sushi place in the Glendora area that knows how to treat customers. My girlfriend and I came here on a whim and got the most outstanding service. The quality of the sushi was delightful, the food came out quick and the hot saki was on point. We arrived near closing time and were surprised that we weren't rushed out like Sakae Sushi down the street. I will absolutely return, so glad I found my new sushi restaurant! Really suck at customer service. If you ask questions they tell you to look at their menu on yelp which is blurry and outdated. I ordered a house salad which was only different types of lettuce and spinach so should've really been call mixed greens like you buy at sprouts in a bag. How rude. Go to Sushi-n-I in Glendora instead as they never disappoint. We only went here to be open minded. Waste of money and so annoyed that my Friday evening started with these rude people. They'll talk to like omg mam I didn't know you wanted the price explained I said I didn't but some cucumbers at least would've been nice with my house salad. Go online and look up the definition of house salad. Sure it varies but never did I read just lettuce. Wow. Major disappointment read more

Hands down one of the best hidden gems for quality sushi and affordable price. Their presentation of sushi is great and the rolls were amazing! Not to big not to small but just the perfect size to consume and be able to still be able to try other rolls. We have been trying different sushi spots lately to see which ones are worth the trip and which ones are less the wait for the better quality, I'm so glad we chose to give this spot a try over sushi one spot and sushi show AYCE. Sometimes the AYCE spots lack quality over quantity unfortunately and sometimes quality comes at an extreme higher price but the presentation and sushi roll combination is not the best but this hidden gem was it for us. My wife was Al in and wanted to keep eating more rolls but we had to get going but we will be back for sure and with a bigger appetite to try more rolls and to definitely try the bulgogi plate to end it on a full stomach. Can't wait for the next time we have a chance to come visit just my wife and I. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. read more

IN LOVE with their udon!!! Not only are the noodles insanely good, the broth is amazing and full of flavor. Not to mention their added touch puts it over the top in my books!! Esp tonight on a rainy day ..... it hit the spot. This is our GO TO for udon and we're going to start trying everything else on their menu This is a must if you haven't tried them already. I've been coming to this place when it used to be Dai Shogun for many years. I was sad when the owners decided to retire and sold the business, which now is Sanyo Sushi. The place itself did not change much as it was 20 some years ago, which is a good thing. Menu has changed, which is expected. Udon is always my go to dish if I'm not craving for sushi and Sanyo Sushi ' s shrimp tempura udon is delicious. Lastly the service, there is a young guy who has served us more than a couple of times (I wished I knew his name), he is such a cool guy! I was sad when Dai Shogun had closed and sort of already scratched off this new place from my list but like anything else, you just have to give it a try because you may never know you will end up liking it. read more

I usually do have any problems here but the last time I went they had given my order to someone else and it wasn't there, on top of that the lady made me call the Yelp service to see what happened but they gave my order to the wrong person, that's what happened. It was very inconvenient and frustrating and the lady didn't speak good English so she took my phone to give it to her employee to talk to Yelp without my concent and I got annoyed because of COVID, she was standing way too close to me already and then she grabbed my phone. This whole experience left a pretty bad taste in my mouth and I'm be finding a different place now. read more

This is a beautiful place to eat if you enjoy contemporary Japanese design. This place has the best lunch special as it's buy one get one! Was perfect for three people! Sushi wise only had the basic rolls, which were really good. The tempura and teriyaki were ridiculously delicious as well. The service is what made it an incredible experience! The straff was fast, attentive, and polite. I'd come back and try their full sushi line for sure ! ! read more

Love this place, sushi is the best in town! And happy hour is great. You get to choose from a different variety of sushi's and appetizers. The only complain I have will be when ordering out, I always tell the person over the phone if they can please put extra hot sauce & spicy mayo. They always say they do but when I arrive there, there's no sauce... and when I ask, they get mad lol and bothered. This has happened twice already and when I told her about it, she just laughed and said nothing. I understand sometimes we don't use all the sauces given to us but I get no sauce and I'm paying for it. But other than that the food is delicious. read more

I have wanted to try this place for the pasty couple of months. I didn't see folks inside so I was a little worried. However, the reviews that were in Yelp were good. I decided to give Sanyo a try. I decided to bring the entire family so that we could try a kid menu item, sushi, ramen and appetizer. The server was quite lovely. She was quick and got our drinks. Our food came out quickly. Kids beef bowl -whoa! Nice portion with plenty of delicious goodness - my kids loved the flavor and enjoyed the vegetables as well -we ordered sauce on the side. Excellent choice Sushi -FRESH -Albacore was delicious -Salmon, yellowtail, red snapper and tuna were all very good Ramen Soup - the entire family enjoyed this full flavor soup -the meat was very tender and spiced correctly - noodle to soup ratio was perfect Appetizers -edamame was very good and plenty for a family of four -seaweed salad was very good This place is a hidden gem and will soon be very busy. They opened the end of last year and slowly getting their loyal patrons. We will be back soon. read more

I am uncharacteristically disappointed with Sanyo. I might still be waiting if I hadn't called GrubHub to check on the status. GrubHub stated that the food had been prepared 45 minutes prior to my call. I asked the young lady who handed me the food if it had been sitting out long. She said that it had just been served but the sushi was warm. Why didn't I receive a call immediately after the food was prepared? read more

I must say, I am in love! This place is top notch from food to service. I have never felt so welcoming and heartfelt dining at a restaurant. The staff were so attentive and knowledgeable about their menu, it is ridiculous. Every recommendations they made were amazing! After a few recommendations they made I decided to let them choose what I should eat because it so damn good!! I mean I eat a lot and 7 rolls are minimum when I go to a sushi restaurant. But not one dish of their recommendations disappointed me. Everyone, it is a must try!! Once you go Sanyo you will never look elsewhere for great tasting sushi! Normally I would have given this place 4 stars, but management has changed. They used to have all you can eat, it was one of the reasons we first decided to try this spot out. I was quite disappointed to sit down, order my drinks and plan my dinner only to have to realize there was no longer AYCE. Decided to give it a try anyways. Food was still good, but not as good as it used to be. Was very disappointed that my favorite sushi place just became and average sushi joint. While the staff was very nice, they stared at my table the entire time I was there (we were the only table there). I felt like I was guilty of a crime or something and made my meal very awkward. I probably would no longer recommend this place as a must-try, but rather as a last resort :( read more

First visit to Sanyo with my family. Highly recommend it. The Sanyo roll was super tasty, but all of them were. Savory, tangy, spicey, and just super good. Interesting new flavors I haven't encountered before, and really good. Service was very attentive, friendly. Wife never knows what to order and the waitress quickly gave us a detailed run down of her favorites, clearly knew the offerings. Beers on tap for a buck, quiet and clean. Best sushi ever. Yellowtail Jalapeno cilantro fusion sashimi, Omg love that. Also every single roll we had (Mango Yellowtail, Sanyo, Glendora) was bomb. Their happy hour which is a plus include large selections of appetizers, special rolls and beer with very reasonable price.
