We had a forgettable experience at Sushi Umi. Service was bad during our night out. We have dined at Sushi Umi one other time prior. To note, the location is small and there's about 6 tables/booths total. We seated ourselves per the server. We ordered two items. One Shrimp Tempura Udon and my wife a Double Salmon Roll. I received my Udon order first. A decent time passed and had us wondering about the sushi roll. Server told us, sorry it's busy they are working on it. Then more time passed. Finally after 20+ minutes after the udon was served my wife's sushi came. Server said she'd give wasabi and ginger but it never came. The wait time between the two orders was pretty crazy. My wife said the roll was ok, but salty. The udon was good since I was craving soup. Didn't take a picture of the sushi roll because my wife was already hungry from all the waiting. The experience wasn't great for us, unfortunately. Seemed like other tables were waiting for all their food as the server was apologizing constantly to other customers. After today, it confirmed why we don't think to come here. There's other reliable sushi spots we usually frequent that serve similar menu items, but have better service. read more

I dined here earlier tonight with my husband and I'm sad to say this experience was not so great. We've been here once before, but it wasn't this bad. My husband ordered the Tempura Shrimp Udon Soup and I ordered the Double Salmon Roll. His soup was served within minutes, but mine took about 20+. The waitress apologized for the wait and said it was because they were busy. I overheard her apologizing to other tables for the same thing. When I finally got my order, she said she would get the ginger and wasabi, but that never came. The roll was good initially then it started to taste salty. When I looked closer, I could see so much of the salt sprinkled on top of the salmon and on the plate. When I had the last four pieces left to eat, I scraped some of it off the fish. There's room for improvement and I hope the other diners tonight didn't have a bad experience like I did. I think it would be best to serve all the dishes for the same table at once rather than have just one served while the other person waits, especially if it's busy. Maybe don't have tall tree dividers in between the seating because it felt like we were hidden. For now, I won't be returning here. read more

In the chirashi bowl that we ordered from sushi umi, all the fish were high quality and fresh! I couldn't decide which fish I liked the most, which is when you know it's all good! Tempura Philly roll- decent, nothing special and tastes like a normal fried Philadelphia roll which isn't a problem!
