Went back due to some warranty issues with my car. Again as I said above I would only go back for that. Honestly had new issues with communication that came up that added to my above frustrations. BUT: my tech was great in recovering my experience, hence the updated rating. He went over and above to try and correct the communication issues, to the point only he would call me and only he would help me. So while I'll still only go back from warranty things. I will give kudos to my tech for being attentive, aware, and acknowledged the missteps in communication to me. I called last week and was given a price on a service for my Colorado diesel. Showed up had the service done and price was way more than the quoted amount. Naturally i was not happy BUT after being clear what i was told and what actually happened they made it right with hardy no input from my end. What i expected to be a bad experience turned out to be a good one. I worked with Conan T and he was very professional and pleasant to work with as a service advisor he gets 5 stars from me no doubt Abby S was the one that listened to my issues and frustration and took the time to find the solution to do what she could to resolve the situation professionally. She also deserves 5 stars. The reason i am only giving 4 stars was because the person who took my call and gave me the wrong prices even after I clarified the vehicle 3 times and they repeated back to me all the correct vehicle info and still have wrong pricing setting unrealistic expectations. Even though their phone etiquette and professional service was great an issue like this tends to over shadow the positive. I still do recommend this dealer and will most likely make this my preferred dealer for the future seeing how the next few interactions go. read more

Initially told repairs would only take a couple days, all minor items. -(polish a few blemishes, get raddle out of the door, and headlights flicker) Loaner smelt like an ashtray. Called back to get a different car, and no return call. Called again and told should get one Saturday. No call back Called Thursday because we still had no call on our car that wasnt complete, nor had we heard back about the rental. Kaley said no cars available, escalated to Dave Walker and we had a new loaner, but still no information about ours being fixed after 9-DAYS in their shop. Dave promised a call back Friday at 9:00 am from Coty to give us an update. You guessed it, no call back. Radio silence for 7-DAYS until we broke down and called Dave Walker back, and Kaley said he was in a 'meeting' and would need to callback. Then we noticed on our GM app that our vehicle moved into the shop after after I called and where it had been sitting for 7-DAYS. Coty called my wife, not me, and gave a story about just getting a recall they think will fix the defect in the lights. Although our app was showing the recall notice all week. Coty said they ordered a part that now should be in on Monday, which will be a minimum of 4-DAYS. Also told Dave wasnt in the office...after we were told he was "in a meeting". Called back Tuesday morning for the status and was told Coty was "unavailable" and would have to call back. Finally recieved a callback 4-hrs. later that our vehicle was ready for pickup. Went to get the vehicle and neither Coty or Dave said anything to us, even thoough Coty was standing right in front of us as we pulled the rental in, he stayed in his glass enclosure. Standing at the counter for 10-min waiting for someone to bring our vehicle to the shop, Dave was standing within 10 ft of us and never said anything about all the non-communication, or asked if it was better. Then a person at the counter asked if that was our vehicle outside the building...running? It was, the person brought it up and walked away with the vehicle running and key in counsel, never telling us it was there since we were waiting inside at the counter! It has been one unkept promise after another, ZERO communication unless we were the ones calling! Sales guy that sold me a car didn't know how to negotiate and was super aggressive, also my friend overheard employees talking smack about customers in the parking lot. . . .Off the bat, the sales guy told me, "We don't talk prices here, maybe go somewhere else if you want to look for a better deal." I told him I would and thanked him for his time, he immediately started back tracking. Once we got all the paper work signed, I asked if I could pick up the car the next day as I would need to arrange things, he again snapped out of nowhere and said "No, they want it gone today!". He said it so aggressively I thought he was joking at first, considering they had so many open parking spaces, but then I realized he was serious... Anyways when he walked away, I asked another sales guy and he said it wouldn't be a problem at all. Awhile ago I had set an appointment at Sapaugh Chevy, to have my timing belt replaced on my 2005 Chevy Aveo, at a recommended 50,000 mile interval. When I arrived at Sapaugh to drop the car off, a couple of weeks later, I was informed they hadn't ordered the part yet. Needless to say I wasn't happy! After a few days it was done. I was told it would take a few miles for the engine to "learn" everything. After a few weeks the check engine light came on and the went off. I called Sapaugh and was told they were quite backed up and it would be 2-3 weeks before they could get to. This went on for over a year. Recently the check engine light went on and stayed on and the car started running very rough. I set an appointment for 18 days later to bring it in. When I arrived at Sapaugh and told my service advisor, John, what was going on, that this was from it not being timed right after Sapaugh installed a timing belt. Sapaugh kept the car for over a week. I was told the timing is fine but I had 4 fouled spark plugs one bad spark plug wire and a bad O2 sensor. Sapaugh replaced these items charged me $780.04 and returned my car. The very next day the check engine light came back on and the car was still running rough. I dropped the car back off and rented another car for the week. This time I was told it was the crankshaft positioning sensor, the timing was fine and the repair would cost $380. Not happy I called another Chevy dealership and ask for a price on the crankshaft pointing sensor. $84.94 for the part which consists of a pigtail to plug in, at the top of the engine, and 1 small allen bolt located just beneath the oil filter. The whole job to replace couldn't take more than 15 minutes. When I called and spoke with my service advisor, John, and brought up the part cost, he back peddled and said he had miss quoted me. He meant to quote me $180. "Whatever" After they replaced the part I was then told that the car was out of time by approximately 2 teeth and that they wouldn't charge me to adjust the timing. This second trip still cost me $207.31, giving me a grand total of $987.35. All because they didn't install the timing belt right the first time, which fouled out the plugs, burnt up the O2 sensor and caused the plug wire to go bad, I'm sure, from being pulled off the spark plug, which should have never need to be done if they had replaced the timing belt right in the first place. I will not go back to Sapaugh for service again! They don't seem to work above board and want your money and not your patronage. I am purchasing a new second vehicle next year and it will NOT be from Sapaugh! Be careful who you deal with. Check reviews first and go by word of mouth! Chuck Walters. read more

We took our car in for repairs. It was a major repair - the engine and the timing chain were both shot. They quoted a figure that was out of reach, so we decided to not get it repaired there. I asked repeatedly for an itemized estimate and never got one. We settled on a price for the labor they put in. So far, so good. However, when we found a repair place with a price we could live with and had the car towed in, they called and said they couldn't start repairs because a lot of parts were missing, including the valve cover. We called, and Sapaugh right away said that they returned all the parts with the car. Actually, they returned none of the parts. We got a list of the missing parts from the second repair shop and sent it to Sapaugh. No response from them. Now, the repair will cost an extra $1000 because of their error or intentional failure to return the parts. Either way, we will not be doing business with them again. read more

YOU'RE JUST A NUMBER To say I'm less than impressed would be an understatement here. I feel my issues stem more from my salesperson than the dealership itself (at least thus far since I have only had my vehicle for 1 week). The salesperson seemed to care nothing about retaining customers and I don't feel I got any honest answers or communication during my purchase process with them. This was to be a great buying experience for buying my first truck ever and it really fell flat even though I love my vehicle. Problems I had with the salesperson: - right away they were shoving keys in my hand without really listening to what I was looking for. At one point when "I" found my vehicle of choice, not them, I told them to give me for details about the vehicle and don't just hand me the keys to where they needed to keep walking back and forth to get. -the first truck shown was a complete mess with 120K miles on it (again they weren't listening to what I really wanted). I test drove (again with promptly giving me keys which they already had in hand) and completely turned the vehicle back around and back to the lot because it was a terrible vehicle. -Credit: I got pre-approval from my bank a week or two before my purchase which I was told by my bank to just have the dealer fax in the purchase order. That should have been that easy BUT it wasn't. Sapaugh didn't want to hear that we already got pre-approved by the same bank they use. They told us "it would all be part of the same transaction. The credit would be run but would be part of the same transaction as the pre-approval". This was complete BS because I followed up after the purchase with the credit bureau and see the transactions from Sapaugh. I value my credit score highly and this bold face lie has hindered that score. -Follow up: Hasn't been any yet. I've been to dealers that have followed up the very next day to see how my new purchase is and if I'm happy. In fact I went to another dealer before Sapaugh and just looked at several trucks but of course didn't purchase AND that salesperson followed up with me 3 days later just to see if I was still in the market for a truck. THAT's great customer service. My salesperson was the epidemy of a salesperson and not one you always care to buy a vehicle from. This salesperson also seemed pretty out of it and not all together. I would not buy another vehicle from this dealership for the simple fact of the salesperson I had. it seems others giving reviews had a different experience so I obviously got the short end of the stick. read more

I have purchased several vehicles from this dealership in the past. They have all new sales people and now it is the WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. They added a $800 tire and wheel protection plan that I didn't agree to or know anything about. I went in to talk to them about it and general manager Joe ran his mouth about he wasn't the one that did the paperwork and they don't just add something to a contract. SORRY JOE BUT THEY DID. I've come here a lot over the years and most of the time the service is great. Unfortunately since the pandemic hit the service has dropped off significantly. A week ago I waited 2 hours for an oil change and today I waited 3.5 hours for a tire change... unless your under warranty and need legitimate service I would go to an independent shop. Bought my last 2 cars here and even recommended people, this place is not the same Update.... After writing a review and giving 1 star I had received a phone call from Joe Clemens. The reason for the review was that I called the dealership to bring in my charger to get it appraised, if the numbers were right I would trade in for another vehicle. Found a Kia I liked was given the keys to test drive while they looked at my car. Long story short Mike Kinney offered 3k and that was the end of the conversation didn't wanna talk numbers nothing very unprofessional like he didn't wanna sell the car. I called back when I got home to see if they meet me in the middle and give 4k for the trade, he told me they could and asked if I was putting any money down as I stilled owed 10.5 on the charger I said no and his reply was that the bank would want at least 5 to 6k down. Might as well just put the 6k on my charger to pay it off quicker right? Got a call from Joe Clemens soon after to bring my car back in Monday to see if we can work something out. Took my car back out there Joe Clemens looked at it said it was worth more, car looked good the only thing that was hurting me was the miles. Joe sent me over to the same salesman I dealt with that weekend and said he would be over. I filled out the credit application which was a mistake should've knew better as he sent me to the same person is why I gave the bad review. Mike Kinney came back after running my credit, the sale price was 35.9 for the Kia ,trade in price for charger was 4k after Joe said it was worth more , the difference was 31k ,balance due was 41.9 ,payments per month were 1020 to 1040 on a 2022 Kia k5 Gt. To get my payments down to $800 a month they told me 8k down. I told him that's crazy I can just pay off my car with that and with the way the economy is right now who has 8k, a brand new 2022 kia same car goes for 31.5 his response was " why don't you go buy a new one then". I left and the general manager Joe Clemens never came over. They not only manipulated me to come back just to give me the same price for my car but wasted my time lowered my credit score and lost a loyal customer as I have been driving from the city for 8 years to get my cars and oil changed passing up plenty of dealerships just to look like a fool. Will never return to this dealer. Inquired about the price of a vehicle online. I received an email with a picture of the vehicle I was interested in, a price, and an offer to come test drive the vehicle. I drove two hours to the dealer with the intention of purchasing the car. The women who emailed me was conveniently out of the office and a salesman told me there was no way to honor the price I was quoted. He brushed it off as an "honest mistake" and offered to show me another vehicle around the same price. Frankly this bait and switch sales strategy should be illegal. Some guy who "runs the dealership" said he would look into the situation only to have a sales manager offer to reimburse me for my gas. Wasting 4 hours of my life and being offered ten gallons of gas is insulting. I still am not convinced that this was a mistake but I'll never return to find out. read more

Do not buy a used car from here. I bought a 2018 GMC Terrain 2 months ago. Paid their asking price and asked for fresh tires since the ones on it were close to bald and was denied. After 2 weeks the oxygen sensor went bad. They wouldn't fix it under the warranty I had and tried charging me $350 for a $50 part that took me 10 minutes to replace. Took it to autozone for a scan on the check engine light and came out as a oxygen sensor and when brought it to sapaugh they denied that it was the sensor and wouldn't even scan to confirm. After being spun on a loop for a week and the GM offered to fix it after I already had. 2 months down the road I already have my traction control and abs lights turn on. I bought a used 2010 corolla from sapaugh on 9/16/2011.. They refused to make a second key for the car.. Even though i'm sure they could have had it done pretty cheaply... honestly.. What kind of dealership sells a car without two keys? Especially when it only costs 60 bucks.. Normally, you only see that at tiny side lot dealerships who sell second rate cars.. On top of the key thing.. they also refused to fill up the car with gas when I bought it.. And it was well below a quarter of a tank too.. I asked the sales consultant and he straight up told me no.. I said "really" and he responded that they don't fill up the tanks with gas when they sell their used vehicles.. Nothing is better then buying a car and having to drive straight to the gas station to fill it up with gas.. I felt like I was being treated like a second rate customer.. I felt like the customer service was horrible when I bought it.. and the service department only reinforced that feeling when I took it there for an oil change and it took 2 1/2 hours to be completed.. Anyways.. If you're looking for a new or used car.. I'd really recommend going some where else.. You can find the same deals somewhere else, and at least you can get good customer service and not have to go through what I went through.. read more

After assuring me that he had the keys in hand, we moved forward with preapproval on lending and my credit was pulled. Approximately 15 minutes before I was headed that way, Rick called to inform me that the car was being used as a loaner vehicle and was lent out at 12 pm- 2 hours before he told me that the keys were in hand. My hopes were more than high when I intended on purchasing a vehicle from this dealer. Between commercials and word of mouth, I thought for sure I was going to have a great experience. On our way back from out of town, we stopped in to see a vehicle that no one else had within 300 miles. (Note: it was a 2014 and they had the last two) XTS V-Sport. BEAUTIFUL CAR!!!! I wanted it as soon as I saw it. We didn't have time to stay and complete the deal so I told the salesman we would come back. He gave me his card with all of his contact info and later that day I contacted him. We were able to squeeze in the time to test drive and get a better idea of the product. Two hours out I texted the salesman explaining that I would be able to come in and intended on looking at the vehicle in further detail. Fifteen minutes from our time of arrival I sent another text with my e.t.a. Here we are pulling into the dealer and the car was not ready. After roughly 10 minutes another salesman pulled the car around and our hopeful experience went down hill. This new car was in a used condition and parts were missing from it. This didn't bother me because I figured the dealer would do the right thing and correct the discrepancies. HOWEVER, the experience gets worse. The salesman that I was initially introduced to had a customer so I was handed off to someone else. This character was as bad as a salesman could get. He literally had me sit in the car and take off. Ya know, because I know the XTS-V Sport so well... the technology, horsepower, and features. The salesman took me around a subdivision, all the horsepower, handling, and sporty features were experienced going 25 mph, mother of god! When we got back I explained how bad the experience was. The salesman admitted that the cars dirtiness should have been taken care of but he explained why he didn't show me the details. Where the controls of the electronics were and where the certain control functions are (i.e, wipers, steering wheel radio controls, heads up display, in-dash screen navigation, etc). The excuse was that he waits until after the customer drives the car... This makes no sense!!! After I told him I would never come back again and would deter any future customers, I was literally shown my way out of the door. There was no empathy for the terrible experience. Maybe because I was in my late 20's and had an Impala to trade in. Typical experience where a salesmen judges a book by its cover. I ended up getting another vehicle of the same value and just wish other folks get more appreciation of their time and money that I have. Again, I expected the absolute best experience and received the absolute worst. read more

UPDATE: After an initial poor experience with the Internet Salesperson, Megan, the management responded strongly to try to correct the situation. Joe Clemens and Kirk Linderer both contacted me to do the best they could to come close to the mistaken deal made by Megan. When that couldn't happen, they both bent over backwards to try and find me a comparable vehicle for the same price. They stayed in touch and really went the extra mile. In the end, I chose a different vehicle, but it wasn't due to anything Joe or Kirk did. After seeing how they handled the situation described below, I would recommend the dealership. If you have any problem at all, contact Joe or Kirk immediately. There are good people at Sapaugh, I just didn't run into all of them on my visit. Stay away. Employees are careless, uninformed and unapologetic. I contacted the internet sales department and was connected with Megan Cates. I told her I was interested in a used 2011 GMC Acadia and asked if she could better the price posted online. She called me promptly and knocked the listed price down by $1,000 and informed me that there was an additional bonus "Customer Cash" available until July 2 in the amount of $3500. She asked that I fill out the credit app online and provide detailed info about my trade in. I did and once she processed it, she called me back to tell me I qualified for 0% financing. I asked if that was on the net number and she confirmed. My antenna went up because usually those aren't combined and it's far more unusual to have either one of those on a used car. My only thought was that it was a relatively low mileage vehicle and maybe it was classified as a demo/new and that's why it qualified. On the Sapaugh website, the incentives did list 2011 vehicles with the rate, so it appeared legit. Still, I asked Megan directly to verify everything she told me. We exchanged emails where she put the offer in writing. As I was leaving work I re-sent her the deal as I understood it and asked her to confirm before I drove to Herculaneum. She confirmed it was all as she stated, with the only variable being the trade in. I drove to the dealership and just before I arrived, I got a call from Greg Jones who told me he'd have the vehicle ready when I got there and he'd get me in and out as fast as possible. My credit app was completed, they had my stats on my trade in, so it was just supposed to be a quick evaluation and signature. When I pulled in, Greg was friendly but was also a little uncertain...it turned out one of the other employees took the Acadia home. Megan didn't relay my intent to purchase to the proper people and it was driven off the lot. I heard Greg talk to the person on the phone and say, "just give me a chance to run the numbers" implying that the person may not have to return. That's when I knew something was up and in hindsight, Greg knew what was about to happen. He took my car and offered me 5k for it (Megan offered a minimum of 3200, so I was initially happy as I thought that was the only number that was in question). Then Greg did a rundown of the sale price, less 5k, brining me to about 27800...about 2k higher than quoted. That's when Greg took out the email from Megan that ran down the numbers and said he couldn't do what she promised me. To Greg's credit, he didn't try to bait and switch...he knew it was all her fault and told me she was new (not sure if it's true) and didn't understand everything. I told him that's why I asked her to confirm with a manager. He had no explanation but said it would be good for me to call her. He was apologetic but said that he couldn't offer any rebates or financing on the car..so it was not going to happen. I called Megan and told her I was upset and asked how she could get it so wrong, even after asking for help. She apologized and I told her I was upset that she wasted my time and gas after I had her offer in writing, supposedly verified by a manager.
