Sapphire Resort Review -- My Honest Experience (-0/10)
My stay at Sapphire Resort was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. The resort is extremely old, dirty, and poorly maintained, and the photos they advertise online are completely misleading.
Room Conditions
* The first room I was given was very old, dirty, and had insects and other creatures inside.
* None of the outlets worked, forcing me to request a room change.
* The toilet and bathroom were filthy, outdated, and clearly not cleaned properly.
* The floors looked like they hadn't been mopped in a long time, and the balcony was dirty.
* The room had a strong mildew, old stench throughout.
* The bed was literally two twin beds pushed together to pretend it was a queen.
* I had to keep my slippers on because the floors were so dirty.
Front Desk & Service
* I had to call the front desk multiple times just to get help.
* The young lady at the front desk refused to move me until I asked for a manager.
* Staff was unfriendly, unhelpful, and standoffish whenever I had issues.
* There is no room service, and basic requests like towels were a struggle.
* I was told no one was at the front desk to give me towels, and I had to wait for housekeeping.
Second Room (Fifth Floor)
* The Jacuzzi was broken in both rooms.
* The bathroom was still dirty and outdated.
* There were ants on the table and sink.
* The floors were dirty, and there were hoses lying around in the hallway and lobby.
* The elevator area had mosquitoes everywhere, and the elevator itself was old and run down.
Breakfast Experience
* Breakfast was terrible and felt like child-sized portions.
* They served cut-up stale toast, burnt eggs, two pieces of bacon, and French fries instead of home fries.
* You only get pineapple or orange juice, and refills cost $3 cash.
* On my last day, the lady brought me orange juice I didn't ask for, then got an attitude, sucked her teeth, and told me she didn't think I wanted pineapple juice.
Pool & Beach Access
* The pool area was dirty, with straws and leaves floating in the water.
* You cannot walk directly to the beach from the hotel -- it's about a 10-minute walk.
* The balcony view is blocked by buildings, so you don't get the beach view they advertise.
Overall Cleanliness & Environment
* The entire hotel feels old, rundown, and neglected.
* The hallways, lobby, and common areas are dirty.
* The hotel has a strong mildew odor throughout.
* For a hotel that costs $700-$800, this is completely unacceptable.
Checkout Experience
* Checkout was at 11:30 AM, but housekeeping opened the door at 10:30 AM telling us it was time to leave.
* When I told her checkout wasn't until 11:30, she insisted it was time anyway.

Final Recommendation
I give this hotel a -0/10.
I do NOT recommend staying at Sapphire Resort under any circumstances. If you are visiting Saint Maarten, please choose another hotel. This place needs to be renovated or torn down. It ruined the hotel portion of my trip, and I'm grateful we spent most of our time outside.
