This is the second time me and my family had ate at this place and it's always good! The prices are a little high, but it makes sense because the food is really good and it's sushi of course. Inside there's two separate places for you to sit. You can either sit in the regular area or at the hibachi grill. The view from the inside is amazing since it faces the ocean, and when I went it was nice and quiet. Our server was nice and for the roe bowl (i'm not sure what it's called), he let us know not to put too much sauce on it for the most enjoyable experience. I ordered the Best of the Best sushi roll and the presentation was cool. While it did take a while for the flames to die down, the roll was pretty good in the end. It had a char taste and it was spicy!

Delicious sushi and steak. Located on the second floor with beautiful harbor views. Food came out really quick and everything was in perfect order. Plenty of parking however it is pay to park so keep that in mind.

My girlfriends and I spent a day in Carmel and decided to stop by in Los Gatos to enjoy some Japanese food. We had such a lovely experience here. The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh and good portions, the miso soup was comforting, and the spider roll was a total favorite. Everything tasted clean and high quality. The atmosphere felt truly authentic, honestly like stepping into a little spot somewhere in Japan! The staff was soooo nice, friendly, welcoming at 08:15pm!

What can I say? Places like this are always pretty solid. I ordered the chicken and steak and our chef did a great job. It's been a really long time since I've been here and forgot how good they make the fried rice. Although it's nothing crazy it truly hits the taste buds nicely. Although most people know the drill it's always nice to come here once in a while to keep the excitement up. Highly recommend this on a special occasion and you won't be disappointed

Perhaps this is a plea to the owner to please turn on the air conditioner to this place. It was so unpleasant to enjoy a great meal when you're eating in a sauna. I looked like a drench Tom Cruise in Top Gun after playing volleyball, so I was told. The sushi is decent and the spicy squid has good flavor so for that alone I give four stars all day everyday, just minus one star for the uncomfortable eating environment. I'll be back again and hope to give higher praise. Roger that Goose.

The show the hibachi chef put on was okay at best. Not very interactive or creative or fun, as other hibachi places may do it. The food was okay. Nothing amazing but it wasn't bad either.

Stopped by Sapparo Sushi & Steakhouse for dinner recently, and it was a good experience. We showed up just before 6pm and were able to get seated right away. Food was good, I enjoyed the shrimp appetizer and the fried rice, the chicken was a bit bland but the sauce options helped! Overall, customer service was great and attentive, and there were multiple people celebrating birthdays, so it was a lively, enjoyable atmosphere. Pricing seemed fair and the location is convenient and parking was easy. I'd recommend checking out this restaurant if you're visiting Monterey for the day or a quick weekend getaway.

Meats are from Snake River Farms which is good to know. The fresh Pacific oysters from Fanny Bay, Canada were outstanding. So fresh and not fishy at all and plus the jalapeño onion mignonette was sweet and so good that I saved it for my steak lol I loved the cap of my prime rib but the middle was a bit chewy like it is with most prime rib. i was really glad that the steak dinners come with the mashed potatoes and stir fry spinach (also glad it wasn't creamed spinach for a change). He enjoyed his ribeye as well. The salts are really interesting and we were told to use it sparingly since the steaks were already seasoned intentionally. He ordered a glass of Emblem and I had Bee's Knees which was pretty syrupy sweet in the way that honey is with a hint of bitterness. We shared a mini key lime pie which was pretty good and exactly what you would expect. The free birthday cannoli is so fun and was presented with a sparkler but unfortunately my least favorite because of the odd tasting candied fruits in the cream. We had an amazing time here and really enjoyed our dining here.

The prime rib eggrolls are great for what they are. As you would not expect those at a steakhouse. The oysters are always to die for! My go to the fillet that's always cooked perfectly paired with great sides. But what I will say is inconsistent and has purely left me with a bad experience is the service. My most recent visit on Father's Day was a disappointment. Yes, it was a holiday, but it was not too busy at 7:30 PM. l I have returned because of service but this time he simply forgot about us. You could see that he tended to his other tables great. A different server started us, Alex which I wish would've just waited on us. it was obvious that he attended to his other tables great while we were just off to the side. He never checked on us. We had to order another round of drinks through the busser etc. it was just simply bad service and there wasn't an excuse for it. For spending $300 on a tab for two and the service is shit... pretty disappointing!

He recommended it and said it was one of their popular appetizers. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the worst calamari dishes I've ever had. The plate was filled with fried batter crumbs, soggy strips of vegetables, and a few fried carrot pieces, with very little actual calamari. What calamari was there was extremely chewy--so much so that my daughter actually choked on a piece. It also wasn't properly coated. It looked like everything had simply been dumped into one large bowl of batter, causing all the pieces to stick together before being thrown into the fryer. I've worked in the seafood industry for over 20 years, and this was honestly some of the worst calamari I've ever been served. The prime rib sandwich was equally disappointing. It resembled thin-sliced deli roast beef rather than freshly carved prime rib. The bread tasted stale even after being toasted, the onions were burnt, and the fries were golden brown but soggy, almost as if they had been refried. The fish tacos were another letdown. My wife only managed to eat one. The fish appeared to be a low-quality, sustainable white fish that looked and tasted like tilapia. For a restaurant sitting on the Pacific Ocean, I expected fresh local seafood--not something that tasted frozen and generic. The seasoning was little more than paprika and coarse black pepper, while the salsa consisted of chopped tomatoes and onions with almost no flavor. The cabbage garnish also tasted old and wilted. The avocado toast initially looked promising, but even that was disappointing because the thin multigrain bread tasted stale before it was toasted. What surprised me just as much as the food was the service. Throughout our meal, no one stopped by to ask how everything was or whether we were enjoying our food. I understand restaurants can be short-staffed, and our waiter was also tending the bar, but checking on guests is a basic part of dining service. When he finally returned, it wasn't to ask about our meal--it was to hand us the bill and tell us about the rewards program. I then had to track him down at the bar just to pay. The building itself is beautiful, and the waterfront location is hard to beat. Unfortunately, the food simply doesn't match the setting. From the seafood to the meat, nearly everything we ordered was below expectations. In my opinion, this restaurant survives largely because of its location and the steady stream of tourists. There are much better places to eat in Monterey. I left extremely disappointed and will be sharing my experience on other review platforms as well.

Hamachi: This was okay, nothing special to be honest sinc Mussels: This one was also delicious as well. It was made with white wine and tomato broth with butter, shallot, garlic. Beets salad: You can't go wrong with ordering a beet salad! The honey vinaigrette was delicious! Santa Cruz King Salmon: This dish was simple but tasty. The Meyer lemon sauce went well with the salmon. 12oz Pork chop: The meat was soft and easy to bite into. The cauliflower puree was delicious! Snake River American Wagyu: I thought the steak was okay. It was a bit too rare for me personally but my husband liked it! Brussels sprouts: Yummmm! Love the crispy Brussels sprouts. Overall service was great and the food was good. The only downside of the night was not getting the duck liver mousse toast. Not sure why the order went through when we mentioned in the beginning but hope to try it next time we're in town.

You know how hard it is with a toddler and baby. But we also know the importance of bringing them. We were super excited to have an unbelievable steak dining experience. We were in Carmel for two nights and we researched this place to eat at. Upon arriving with our party of 6 everything was smooth. We put our order in and then what felt like over 90 minutes we were asked if we wanted our daughter's burger to come out first. Which we did. After some time there. The A5 Wagyu came out. The stone plate was pretty cool. As a matter of fact, our 3 year old had her first tasting experience with the A5. She absolutely loved it. And so did we! The actual timeline was sit down reservation at 6:15 and first A5 Wagyu to come out was 40 minutes later. Then a total of 90 minutes before our entrees came out. That was the time stamp on our food pics. Finally our order came out which was a porterhouse we ordered to split for two. It had the spinalus, and all the yummy with it! It was incredible. My friend ordered just the spinalus and said it was the best steak he's ever had. The food was definitely A+. What happened next brought the experience down to a 3 star. We paid for our deposit through the chase reserve portal using Tock prior to arriving for dinner. We opted to utilize our points since we saved way more by doing that. We paid a $300 deposit worth points. So in essence we should've received a bill with a minus $300 on it. When we received the bill, it did not have the $300 off from it. So I asked about it and they said they would take care of it. After a very long time, they came back and said they're trying to take care of it. After more time, one of the servers said to me, if I can pay the full price on the receipt and I will receive a refund in a couple of days. So we did. We didn't want to wait any longer. A couple of days later I sent an email and the owner responded with an email from that night that he was taking care of the situation. Apparently, Tock reservations that do not opt to accept points and cash deposits will have a hard time. And since Saltcraft accepts Tock reservations with only cash deposits, I was SOL. A couple days later I was refunded the points back to my account. The food was off the charts! We had a great time devouring the yummy in all those steaks! The servers and people taking care of us were super nice and seemed to care about our experience. Overall, we felt they could've addressed at the end with the time of order till the food came out with apologies. But there was no apologies. They just brought out the food. Then the amount of time not understanding what was going on with the bill. That could've been addressed. After writing an email to the owner, he apologized that their service wasn't timely. "I'm sorry that our leisurely service style for the meal and the lead time for our steak process wasn't a good fit for your family." That was his quote. We wish them good luck and no ill. Things happen and hopefully we all get better from it.

The fries that go with each steak dish are also really good and go with the steaks. We had the cowgirl ribeye and spinellis steak. They were both good, I personally preferred the cowgirl ribeye since it had more fat. For the other portions of the meal, I really liked the sourdough bread they gave us. It tastes freshly made. The mushroom side that we ordered my husband really liked, but it wasn't my taste since it was a bit oily. The toffee bread pudding we didn't really like-it was too sweet, very small, and not very well presented. The cocktails we had were stellar. We had the paper plane, Rio de Janeiro, and Thai boxer. My favorite was the Rio de Janeiro; I was watching it being made and they squeeze fresh oranges into the drink. It was a good combination of orange juice and cream. The Thai boxer was good, although I did think it was a bit watery. The service was great and we had a lot of good recommendations from the staff. The restaurant had good ambiance and visually pleasing interior design. It's located in a shopping plaza with easily accessible parking as well. Note-if you come for your birthday or special occasion, they don't do anything extra like a dessert.

What really stood out was the service. Everyone was welcoming, our server was attentive without hovering, and the staff made us feel genuinely taken care of throughout the meal. The food was fine, the atmosphere was fine, the service was fine -- nothing memorable, nothing bad. The real issue is price. Adding shrimp to a salad cost about $15, and our total with tip came out to around $140 for two people. For that price point in Monterey, I expected more from the food and overall experience. Would I come back? Probably not at full price. But if you have the Amex Platinum and quarterly Resy dining credits to use, it softens the blow enough to make it worth trying once.
