When I got engaged back in September I starting looking for dresses on social media that I liked and it felt like every time I clicked on a photo, it ended up being a Sarah Seven dress! I knew I HAD to make an appt to try on her dresses. Sarah Seven was the first bridal shop I went to and the only place I really needed to go. From the moment I booked my first appt, the whole process was a piece of cake. They called me in advance to go over my style, size, budget and how the whole process works so I was well prepared. I also loved this because I was bringing my mom, sister and soon to be mother in law to join me and was feeling super anxious about the process, but this totally eased my mind! Kelsi, the store manager, greeted us at the door and I immediately felt at ease. She welcomed us in, told us all about Sarah Seven and did such an amazing job at hyping me up. On principal I never write bad reviews. However, I don't want anyone to have the same experience I did, considering what a huge and meaningful purchase this is. First: they are very pushy and try to get you in and out (w/ a purchase) as fast as possible. They don't let you touch the dresses or try on more than a couple, plus you have to pay to make an appt. This all kind of rubbed me the wrong way, but I quickly put that aside because I DID find a dress that I absolutely loved! It was stunning and every detail about it was just what I wanted. When the dress arrived, the design was completely different from the dress I tried on in the SS store. The entire bodice was different, the neckline was different (straight and square, not a deep scoop), the boning was in a totally different place (on either side of my belly button, rather than along my ribs where normal boning would be) and it showed through the material, the material was completely see-through, the fit and type of skirt was completely different (more A-line rather than fitted/flared) and the beautiful draped cowl neck (the main detail of the dress) was one small, tight strip of fabric that looked like a weird afterthought. It looked like I had gotten a cheap knock-off of a designer dress. This dress was $4,000. The issue was not sizing, I was assured prior to ordering that the proportions and structure/design of the dress *do not change* when you order a smaller size than the sample (I was told this was something "unique" about Sarah Seven). I made sure to SPECIFICALLY ASK about it because I loved every detail of the dress I tried on so much, I wanted to make sure I knew what to expect. They basically just told me anything to get me to lay down my credit card. I was devastated. It was a huge sacrifice to spend this amount of money, but I loved the sample dress so much that I took the leap to get it. I expressed my frustration/confusion and they seemed understanding at first and expressed their commitment to making sure I was thrilled with my purchase. They offered to have me back into the shop to try it on with their associates and figure out a solution. I was grateful--this felt promising! When I went to this appointment, I was so disappointed to learn that the "solution" they had was **for me to pay $995** to have them fix the dress. And the "fixes" they were proposing were just regular alterations (straps, hem, etc), not even addressing the real issues with the dress. This is not a matter of me changing my mind, this is a matter of being sold something completely different than what I got. It was a bait and switch. I was being more than reasonable; I wasn't demanding a refund or a totally new dress, I asked them to change just ONE of the things that wasn't right (the cowl). I was willing to overlook the other things that were completely off if they just changed the cowl to represent the dress I tried on and paid for. It's the defining feature of the dress. It took over 10 emails (and multiple attempts by them to ghost me) to get them to finally agree to replace the cowl to represent the original dress. The new cowl looked better than the old one, but it was still not the same. And I had gone through such terrible customer service (and again, *multiple attempts to ignore me altogether* which felt very shitty) to even convince them to fix it. Beware the girlboss energy of this brand. There's a big "yas queen!" vibe that, in the end, amounts to nothing. They told me they wanted me to be totally satisfied and thrilled with my purchase, but when I (respectfully and professionally) continued to express my legitimate concerns (with photo evidence), I was instead ignored or told the dress was perfect. Their customer service amounts to nothing more than catchy, girlbossy slogans and empty platitudes. As a bride, you are nothing more than a sale to them; they do not care about you or your experience. I don't blame the store associates for this; this is clearly an upper management issue and the weird energy/bad ethics trickle all the way down. Sarah Seven completely ruined my wedding dress experience and I'm just incredibly sad. I will never get that back. My wedding was perfect; the only regret I have about any of it is that I bought (and had to wear) a Sarah Seven gown. I did not feel beautiful on my wedding day; I couldn't wait to take the SS gown off and change into my reception dress (a Teuta Matoshi, by the way--beautifully made to perfection. Highly recommend!).  There are so many amazing bridal designers out there, save yourself the heartbreak & frustration of dealing with Sarah Seven. **Another note: I suggest you also read the Glassdoor reviews about this company before purchasing. Sarah Seven LA was the first (and only) bridal shop I visited, and I had the best experience at Sarah Seven LA! I got engaged on 12-10-21 and my husband and I booked our venue for a 12-10-22 wedding shortly thereafter. I was nervous going into wedding planning because I truly had no idea what to expect and I had never really dreamed about what my perfect wedding would look like, but I know how to dress my body and I knew exactly what I wanted in a wedding dress, I just didn't know where to find it. I'm a really 'easy' shopper, so I had no interest going to a million different dress shops. Then I came across "my" dress on Pinterest, and after some reverse google image searching, I identified the Belmont dress. I knew the Belmont was my dress the second I saw it, so I went online and made an appointment for the following weekend at Sarah Seven LA. Prior to my appointment, I received an email and phone call to confirm my Saturday morning appointment. Because of COVID, I was allowed to bring 1 guest with me, which was perfect because I wanted it to be just me and my mom. There was ample street parking (it's metered) and when we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Matea, who was my bridal consultant and just so lovely. I tried on the Belmont dress first and immediately knew it was my dress! I explained to Matea that the Belmont was exactly what I imagined for myself, but to be extra sure, she convinced me to try on a few other gorgeous gowns. The one thing I really appreciated was that Matea listened to me - I explained that I know how to dress my body and I know what I like, and she didn't pressure me into trying a bunch of different dress styles. After trying a few other gowns, I put the Belmont back on and Matea helped me pick the perfect veil - the Blanca. Then, Matea emailed me all of the details from my purchase, which included my measurements, the notes she took during the fitting and the purchase contract. I also opted for the in-house gown tailoring services (~$795), which I HIGHLY recommend - the tailor is exceptional and trust me, she just *gets* it. Several months later, I got an email that my dress was almost finished and would be shipping out soon from NY to Sarah Seven LA. About 12 weeks before my wedding date, I got a second email from Sarah Seven LA notifying me that my dress had arrived. Sarah Seven LA also automatically booked me for my first fitting with the in-house tailor, which was about 10 weeks out from my wedding date. The email also provided me with all of the instructions for all fitting sessions (e.g., you need to bring your wedding day shoes to the second and third/final fitting). At my first fitting, I fell in love with the dress all over again - it fit like a glove! The appointment was relatively quick overall; the tailor made a few tweaks to my dress to make it extra snatched and scheduled my second and third/final fittings for me. The second fitting went exactly how the first fitting went. I brought my mom to my third/final fitting so that the tailor could walk her through the bustle, which was SO easy. She also went over the day-of instructions (e.g., how to steam the dress, etc.) and gave us a great recommendation for dress cleaning/preservation! Overall, my experience with the in-house tailor was fantastic, and she really understood how to tailor to my body. Update - Just completed my wedding dress + before dress alterations. As expected, this was the easiest process ever and Sarah Seven was so accommodating to my tight schedule! I live out of town which meant that (especially during COVID) I needed to get all of my fittings done within a span of a few days. Paige did such an AMAZING job altering both of my dresses in record time, including adding beautiful buttons that run along the length of the train. I seriously don't even know how she did it. Also, the fact that I'm a big busted (36DDD) curvy gal made me even more in awe, as I don't even need to wear a bra under my dresses. They both fit like a glove! As a bride who participated in one of the original Speakeasys and won the bridal trivia, I received an additional discount off my dresses which was just the icing on the (wedding) cake. I see a lot of negative reviews on here about Erika and I'd like for anyone who is turned off by those reviews to know that she is no longer at Sarah Seven. Personally, I did not have any issues with Erika, but my best friend who came with me to my dress shopping appointment last year thought she was rude. I had such an amazing experience with Sarah Seven. I initially had an appointment during the height of the shutdown (back in April 2020), and when they opened back up I received a call to reschedule and come back in. Despite going to try on dresses mid-COVID, Erika made the experience so special for me as a soon-to-be bride who was 3,000 miles away from any family or bridesmaids. She powered me through trying on a whole bunch of dresses, and found the Cyndi which made my heart skip a beat. Once you find "the one", they welcome you into the family. Every fitting I had after that was also a phenomenal experience. Paige is a perfectionist who made my dress a dream come true. Having a close to nonexistent bust, I found some cups online that Paige was able to line and tack into the dress completely seamlessly. I had a lot of scheduling changes and conflicts due to my wedding being across the country, but they were patient and willing to work with me. Every time I came in for a fitting, Erica checked in with me-- and managed to hype me up telling me my butt or my arms looked great! I truly felt like I was going in to see my friends. I am going to miss having a reason to stop in. The showroom is gorgeous, intimate, and IG-worthy. The dresses are divine, and I really think there is something for every style and many different body types. Classy, sexy, elegant. I can't gush enough. I only had my dress tailored here, so I will speak to that. I spoke with Erika mostly via email and in-store with Paige. I bought my dress in the SF store but had to move to LA area half a year later, and when I told the Sarah Seven team of my situation they were so wonderful and helpful in getting my dress to the LA store for my fittings. The day I needed to wear my dress also moved up (rescheduled our 2020 wedding to 2021 but decided to elope on the original date), and everyone was so accommodating. This was all during August/September 2020, so everything was still on a strict lockdown due to Covid. In store I felt I was in a clean and safe (and um, SO BEAUTIFUL) environment, and only once did my tailoring appointments overlap (like 5 minutes) with another gal who was finding her dress. Paige is awesome - she's wonderful to converse with and does her job very well. I brought different shoes and accessories with me to try on with my dress, and Paige was very genuine and honest in her opinions - thank you! My Belmont was quite loose in some areas but by the end of my tailoring sessions, I really felt like this dress was *made for me*. I'll skip talking about how all the dresses, accessories, and store decors are beautiful. I want to mention how Sarah really cared about all her clients world wide during Covid-19 -- she scheduled virtual speakeasy's for all of her dress buyers whose weddings were affected by the pandemic to chat with us and answer any questions we had. Allie was incredible, I had the best time at both of my appointments! The dresses are gorgeous and not overly expensive compared to others I've seen. Allie was super helpful showing me different styles and ultimately pulling a wild card for me that ended up being the one! The shop is absolutely gorgeous and parking is surprisingly easy. They even gifted me the cutest custom tote bag with some goodies when I purchased my dress, so cute. I can't say enough good things about this place. read more

Sarah Seven was by far the best experience of all the shops that I tried on wedding dresses! I'll say that I was most excited for Sarah Seven... but it TOTALLY lived up the the high bar. It was a fun, private experience with my just mom, sisters, and Erika in the shop. I instantly loved the dress material because it was lightweight but still very flattering unlike other crepe & silk dresses I had tried on from other brands. I said "Yes to the dress!" we drank champagne and had a few tears. If you're looking for a modern, yet timeless and classic look, Sarah Seven is the way to go.
