This was my first time here, a friend recommended it. The minute I entered, I was greeted by the host, (he was very pleasant). Once seated our server was amazing, I wish I got his name. I ordered stuffed salmon and my friend had blackened salmon. Mine had crab and shrimp stuffing that was flavorful, I only wished it had a little kick to it. For those how aren't to keen on pepper, it was delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked, not dry even though I asked for well done. My friends blackened salmon was good too,... but mine was better. ( she would differ) lol. She ordered a drink and she said they make the best sangria. Sorry guys I didn't try it. They were served with potatoes and mixed vegetables. I felt the vegetables were over cooked, a little too soft for me. We also had tiramisu which was ok. The issue with it was that the ladyfingers were soaked way too much and the coffee that was used wasn't that great. I had a reservation a couple weeks ago.. my servers were Tyler and Dani. Everything was perfect! It was a buffet and they exceeded all of my expectations. My biggest priority is always making sure the kids are good before us adults are. I'm going to rave about the food and how wonderful it is, and that the bartenders are fantastic but that if if you're looking to be seated from the Host station or even acknowledged with any sense of hospitality don't count on it. I'm also going to say that I'm debating whether impeccable service with food that's not as good (at Carbone's Kitchen) is a better option The FOOD is Amazing, great prices, with generous portions! Ive had many of the apps, i've done take out, as well as dine in. The food is stupendous. the pasta is authentic as well as some new twist on old classics. The appetizers superb. The seafood fresh and delicious. The drinks LOOK a great, Ive only had wine. The chicken Milanese, Chicken Parm and escargot in the wine garlic butter sauce appetizer is wonderful. The calamari with the capers was a great twist on a classic. I've had the Salmon also. Just superb , cooked to perfection with veggies n smashed potatoes. I've been there around seven times now. The music nights are great from a Brazilian crooner to jazz Sundays it's all an amazing experience. I Love this new Bloomfield restaurant and would love to see them become a staple like Ginza and Concetta's etc!!!! Its difficult to be excited by great food when you're dismissed by the person at the door. People often stand and wait too long at the door to be greeted. Also if someone is waiting for food an extended amount of time it would be nice to be extended an invitation to take a seat at the bar or even maybe be offered a glass of water by the Host....... NOTHING... Didn't Happen. The Host stated that he told me it would be a half an hour, again that didn't happen either. I had to inquire about my food which is when he made up that he told me it would be a half an hour. I told him had I known that in the beginning I would've declined my order and went elsewhere as I was in a bit of a hurry. There was a party going on yesterday and the host did not even walk the guest to the table, he just pointed and said walk straight. It was appalling. What's crazy is that I was so upset, I shared my experience with at least four people (all over 45, no rowdy youngsters here) and was told they experienced the same thing. The only negative thing I have to say about Elizabeth's is about the host with Ponytail and how people are not greeted properly at the front door. My people called him Rude, my word is dismissive..... for him to behave in that fashion I thought for sure he must be a relative of the owner or something to get away with his behavior. I am considering finding another Italian restaurant.... south end of Hartford never fails. I Was just really excited to have authentic amazing Italian and Portuguese food here in Bloomfield. I don't know I'm still contemplating. I'm just really disappointed and sad about it. And if you're still interested in trying Elizabeth's after reading this, because ITS WORTH A TRY, the food is absolutely fantastic, I suggest you come early, find a spot in the bar area and seat yourself. This is the second time I have been here and while I did not come today for the food, the food I had before was good from what I remember, I was disappointed that they were out of a key ingredient for their mojitos pretty early in the night. I was really looking forward to their mojitos which I didn't get the chance to try. Also the bartenders, while a bit busy when I came, seemed overwhelmed and not speedy with the crowd there, and not very welcoming to me and my friends. My friends ordered a few appetizers which I did try and thought were okay but I'm hoping another visit would have a bit better service and the drinks that I want. Hoping to talk to management as well about their shortage so early on a Friday night but I will at least give this place another chance. I have been going here since they opened and it was my favorite neighborhood place. We had developed a bit of a relationship with the bar staff and felt like regulars. The food is solid and the portions are very generous. The wine list is a bit meh--I would pay a few dollars more for a glass of better wine than they have on the menu. However, my husband and I went there this weekend and the whole serving staff had changed. It was obvious everyone was new and nobody had worked together before (they were introducing themselves to one another, for example). We sat at the bar for dinner, like we usually do, but were offered abysmal service by the bar staff, who were clearly more interested in preparing for the post-dinner music event in the bar than they were serving the dinner crowd. For example, when our food came out nobody on the staff knew who at the bar had ordered it. It was the most amateur of amateur hours. I sincerely hope this is not the new permanent staff and that the old staff are still around. read more

This is a spacious restaurant with loads of seating all around. I stumbled upon this restaurant so I didn't really have dinner but I was intrigued by their happy hour. They had half-price wings and cocktail specials. The wings were OK dry and not very moist though I did like the chipotle sauce and the lemon pepper dry rub. The margarita that I got was too sweet and lacked much alcohol. The bartender to serve me seem to have had an attitude but I'm not sure if it was just me. Don't think I would be back. read more

Was excited to see this place open here in Bloomfield and was eager to give it a try. My family and I were sat promptly and we were given some delicious bread with two types of dipping sauces. We ordered the house special pizza and I'm sad to report that it was not good. It came out fairly cold and slightly under cooked. The Swiss was mediocre at best. My three year old son who loves pizza barley ate his slice. We left there a little let down and the next day reheated the pizza in the oven to salvage the $30.00 we spent the day before. If there is any light at the end of this tunnel it's that I would be willing to try the other dishes on the menu just to be fair. Hopefully they are better than the pizza they serve. read more

I really like this place! Please go here so it doesn't close! What I like about it is that it's incredibly reasonable. The food is reasonably priced. The portions are reasonably large; meaning I take home leftovers, but they only last a day, not a lifetime. The food is...reasonably good, honestly. I know that doesn't sound like the greatest endorsement, but it's nice to have food that is uncomplicated. It's not fusion. It's not trendy. It's the food that you've been eating your whole life and you love it. The chicken parm is cozy and delicious. My wife loves the mushroom ravioli. One day I strayed from the pasta, and I wasn't let down with the salmon. It was cooked to my liking and richly seasoned. The veggies were crisp and flavorful. The place is huge, so unless they're understaffed, I can't imagine there's much of a wait. Service is always...good, not always great, but sometimes it's great. Which is ok. Really. It feels like coming to a small town restaurant, which I am. I live nearby and I like coming to a place that doesn't feel like it's putting on airs. There are a few places to get Italian in Bloomfield, but since Park Ave Pizza left, I haven't really enjoyed any of them. When I just want some delicious comfort food, this is where I go. read more

I think this place is a hard three. We went on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. Sat immediately but took some time to get service. Our server turned out to be good so it was all good there. Bread was delish and the salads were just, well, pretty boring salads. Something you'd expect from a pizza joint. For entrees we got mushroom ravioli which was just ok, a bit devoid of depth of flavor, and chicken Milanese. The latter was tasty but kind of "one note". I was off-put by getting a side of boring spaghetti in marinara. The chicken would've been better served over some angel hair or linguine in the same sauce. Overall, maybe I should've gotten a Portuguese dish. Because this place i assume is technically a fusion restaurant. Which kind of lent to my feeling that this place both menu-wise and decor-wise felt like it was suffering from an identity crisis. read more

Totally inappropriate experience with staff. My friend and I went to the bar for drinks and appetizers and were continuously hit on by who I think is the manager. An older bald man who seemed to be doing a lot of different tasks there was flirting with us to the point of being obnoxious. He continued to go up and down the bar and comment to all the women sitting there and make comments about their appearance, body, etc. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. We even overheard him engaging in a sexual conversation with a patron which made us very uncomfortable. The drinks were good, food was ok, not great, but we are so turned off by our experience we will not be back. And have warned our friends. Elizabeth's should not let him loose around customers. Maybe some like this attention,but as adults we found it tacky and annoying. read more

My husband and I like to travel a bit to find different places to eat. We ended up close by this restraunt and decided to try it. Right off the bat the server seemed annoyed that we were there we 4 kids with us but our kids are very well behaved. We had a baby and she didn't offer a highchair so when we asked her after she came back she was like "yeah we have one I'll have to go get it back there" but in a very annoyed tone. We put our orders in got an appertizer and a couple salads which were all good. They brought our food out pretty quickly and I had a chicken Parmesan sandwhich. As soon as I brought it towards my mouth I instantly smelled the smell of melting plastic in the sandwich. I thought I was losing it or something so I took a bite and I could taste it I had to spit my bite out. I opened the sandwich and the whole thing smelled like this it was so strong. My husband had salmon which he said was ok nothing special. The kids liked their food. Once she finally came back I told her something is worn feith the food it smells and tastes like melted plastic. She looked right at me and said "I don't think so we serve that sandwich all day. She didn't offer to remake it or ask if I wanted anything else just took it away and then I heard her clearly complaining about what I said in the back. I am never one to return or even complain about food like that. I just could not stomach the melting plastic smell/tase. She did not charge me for it in the end but I just thought it was odd that I wasn't offered anything to replace it just sorry guess u don't get to eat. And she never apologized only told me mutilple times there's no way it tasted like that not possible so basically calling me a liar. So yeah I wouldn't recommend eating here all together a bad experience. read more

So, we went here for the first time last night and the food was great. I ordered the Chicken alIa Vodka and I would surely get it again. Our waiter, who was 4 days into the job, was excellent. He was attentive but not overbearing, which is very important to us. My Mojito was another story. The mint leaves were old...the lime was old and it had a weird smell. It's obvious I'll never order that again. Overall this was a great place but besides the drink issue, the ambiance wasn't on point. It has the potential to be a very comfortable eating establishment because of the decor and the way it's setup but the lights in the main room were on cafeteria mode. Dim the lights some please. If you like large portions this restaurant is for you. The food doesn't taste the best though and I was disappointed in my food. I ordered the calamari which was okay but when I asked for aioli sauce for dipping they said they didn't have any and that they could not make any. On top of that the waitress was very short with me and did not seem to care. Anyway, I also ordered what they call lobster ravioli but it's not...it's actually cheese ravioli with lobster cream sauce. Apparently, the fact that it's not actually lobster ravioli is in fine print on the menu. Who does that when there is an actual dish called lobster ravioli that actually has lobster meet stuffed inside the ravioli?? And the meal was just okay. So, if your into large portions of meals that have a basic taste then go to Elizabeths....and remember to read the fine print. read more

Honestly, I've passed by this place and never even noticed, but I finally walked through the doors for take out and was pleasantly surprised by the interior. I've been a frequent visitor at this restaurant over the past few years but a recent visit has me rethinking if I will ever be back to this location.. I decided to stop by with a friend who was new to the area so I wanted to show her one of my favorite local restaurants and it was absolutely awful. From the rude waitress, bitter lemonade , EXPIRED ranch dressing I was already uneasy but I still kept my faith because their pasta has never let me down and I was super excited for my Salmon Rose. I had been coming to this restaurant since they first opened this location my sophomore year of high school and I recently transitioned from vegetarian to pescatarian about 4 months ago so I haven't had chicken beef or pork in over 6 years so I always make sure to avoid it. After about a long 35 minute wait our food finally came out and there was a "beef and pork" mixture in my food. Instantly knowing I cannot eat that as it will instantly give me the runs I tell my waitress that the menu does not list those ingredient and I would love a new one. She tells us it's not a problem to make a new one but she notifies us that it will take a while for the new food to come back out because "everything is made fresh" so I understand and tell her it's not a problem I even apologized for having to be that difficult customer to her. Literally 5 minutes later our food comes back out with no pork on top and I should've trusted my instincts and not ate it because here I am the next day , 10 minutes after eating lefts overs , crunches over in pain with food poisoning the pasta definitely tastes amazing BUT beware if you have dood allergies this restaurant clearly does not care about the health and safety of their customers. From expired food to cross contamination. I have had 2 horrible experiences with Elizabeth's and I will never return. I am even considering filing a police report for today's incident, because it's stealing. We ordered 3 meals today for lunch, I ordered them online and the payment went through. My coworker went to pick it up for us and sees the blue sign in the photo below. Once she takes out her phone to take pictures, a woman by the name of Anna comes out to question her and tell her that they're closed. My coworker explained that we paid for food already and were charged and asked for a refund. Anna RUDELY told her that there's nothing she can do about it, and told her to come back to get the food another day or call in 2 days. The last time, I ordered a $25 meal and got a $15 meal instead and ANNA was rude then too and told me to "eat it or come pick up what you bought". I will be disputing with my bank, but the unprofessional handling of their business is out of control, not to mention they refuse to answer the phone when clearly someone is there. read more

Huge menu. Sandwiches, pasta, typical meat-focused entrees. The usual stuff. This place is pretty big with a large bar area with tons of TVs and a pretty large dining room as well. Staff is super friendly (at least our waiter was super friendly). Warm bread arrives to the table along with a roasted tomato sauce and garlic oil (as well as some pats of butter). Nice that it was warm :) Dinner was OK. Opted for Chicken/Sundried Tomato/Spinach in vodka sauce. It was a really big portion but overall it was ok. Tasted like typical penne alla vodka. It wasn't bad -- don't get me wrong, it just wasn't anything particularly special. I wish the pasta was cooked more al dente than it was, but that's a nit picky detail. Overall, I'll probably come back again and try something new and different (maybe a pizza? sandwich? maybe just come for a beer? The bar seems cool). read more
