    Props to them for having a 45 minute queue at 8pm on a Friday. My sister and I just wanted dessert so we got a quick table outside. We ordered the chocolate soufflé. It was not what we expected and we made the mistake of not looking at pictures beforehand. The soufflé was not very fluffy and it was obviously made in an 8 inch round pan because we got a slice. It felt more like a flourless chocolate cake. The pistachio ice cream was also chalky and not very creamy. It tasted more of almonds and cherry than pistachio. We tried the complimentary focaccia. It was a disgrace to focaccia. It has the tightest crumb yet very spongey/soft. The only flavor came from the olive oil you dipped it in. We would absolutely not come back for a meal.

    Service is great here. A little loud setting, the restaurant is a good size. All the food we got was solid. Fig pizza had a little too much fig spread on it for our liking, but the vodka pasta was great.

    Always a great dinner at bricco.. our server Megan was kind and lovely. We were able to get a quick reservation for 5:30 on a Thursday... things really got busy around 630. Dirty martinis have house made blue cheese stuffed olives!

    I gave myself almost a month to write this to ensure I wasn't writing from an angry, disappointed place. Bricco and I are breaking up. We may get back together in the future because one transgression can possibly be forgiven. I ordered "take-out" on November 30, 2025. I was hungry and excited to see my favorite pasta, Cacio E Pepe, on the menu. When I received the dish in the picture, I thought it was undoubtedly an error because the dish is traditionally served with a white "sauce". I called and was directed to the manager. She explained that sometimes they change it up and make it red. On what planet?!?! Was I being manipulated into accepting this? I told her it was misleading, and she said the description below the dish's name is on the menu. As illustrated in one of the photos, there is no description on the menu available online. I expressed my disappointment, but she did not offer to resolve the issue, e.g., by offering me another dish or a refund; twenty-seven dollars ($27.00) in the garbage. Love hurts.

    Bricco in West Hartford and Bricco Trattoria in Glastonbury is an acclaimed upscale-casual Italian-American eatery operated by Billy Grant! The restaurant is known for its simple, fresh, and delicious dishes and has been successfully operating food since 1996; recently celebrating their 30th year serving their CT community. The menu features handmade pastas, wood-fired pizza, and classic, comfort-oriented dishes in a cozy elevated trattoria setting. Great martinis, friendly bartenders and staff, a variety of espresso martinis, and a luxurious ricotta toast. Perfect!

    Restaurant Bricco has been a personal and family favorite for a long time. I have made countless visits over the years, including another remarkable one last night. There is a reason it has survived and thrived for 30 years in the extremely competitive West Hartford dining scene. I find it to be one of the most comfortable spaces to be in. It's warm and not overly crowded, tables are well spaced. Toned down lighting without being dark. Just perfect. Always professional, friendly, helpful service. You're never rushed, courses come out gradually to ensure time to finish the previous without the experience dragging on, though. The penne alla vodka is like a "last supper" or "best thing I ever ate" candidate for me. I love it. Yesterday I tried some dishes, however, that rotate off the menu and I wanted to be sure to try while they were there. I had the octopus carpaccio and eggplant parm. I love octopus and this was executed beautifully. Tender, simply dressed with olive oil and paprika, and paired perfectly with a crisp salad. The eggplant parm was to die for. A large layered brick with generous cheese, while avoiding being overly heavy or the slightest bit greasy. It was a traditional egg batter versus a heavy/oily breading or crumb. I was with my sister and she ordered the arancini bolognese and the chicken parm. Again, generous portions (a guarantee here) . The chicken parm was served with homemade cavatelli, which I did taste and it was masterful. I cannot rave about Bricco enough. I will always highly recommend and regard it as one of my favorite restaurants. It's a must try if you (somehow) have not yet!

    Well worth the wait! Food was amazing! Wings were perfectly crisp and very flavorful, pasta was the best I've had in a while. This place was absolutely packed but for a good reason. Next time will remember to make a reservation! Staff was very pleasant and the restaurant is huge! Will have to be back for sure!

    Place is pretty, dim lighting, inviting, staff is attentive. I'd come back for another special cocktail . The 'Get Figgy With It' special martini is maybe one of the best martinis I've ever tried. I'd one hundred percent get it again. Thanks Bricco, thanks Sasha ( we came together- he's a man..) !

    We made reservations for 5:45 for three people, and we were seated right away. The wine recommendation was perfect. We started with the new pork belly appetizer, which was recommended by a friend and was delicious and shareable. My partner ordered the pork ribs, and I had the sweet potato raviolis. Both were incredible. The pork meal was a generous portion. For dessert, we shared the Affogato and the crème brûlée. Excellent service, a great atmosphere, and fantastic food. We will definitely be back.

    Make a reservation! This place is popular and fills up fast and it became very clear, very quickly, why. The food here is out of this world good. I really don't think there's anything else I need to say. The food is DAMN good and is garnished by the incredible staff and accented by the amazing ambiance. We ordered a drink, two dinners and a dessert. I've never had pizza so good. Genuinely, the pizza blew our minds. Their nduja pork will change your life forever, make sure you try a pizza with that on it! They house their own pastry chef, as well, so theres no better place to try a decadent dessert! You have to come here! You will not regret it!

    Food was fantastic! Very traditional Italian. Lots of pasta options and tasted very fresh. We went here on a week day Wednesday evening for dinner and the earliest reservation they had was 7:30. We were meeting people who we hadn't seen in a while so it was super nice to catch up. One person at our table was done eating and I was still eating and they took the plate away from me while I had a fork full of food in my mouth. Great food and you get a very cozy Italian ambiance but do not go if you want to spend hours drinking and catching up with people as they are pushy to get groups in and out. They also take Togo orders and many people called in pasta for pick up.

    You know an establishment is going to be amazing when its doors have been open for over 30 years! We were given a long list of cocktails and beverages and all the drinks we ordered were spectacular. The apple cider sangria was perfectly made! All the dishes we ordered were amazing but the standout ones were the free range chicken, the scallops and the arancinis. This chicken is one of the best I've had in a long time, a must order! A really cozy and classy restaurant for a family dinner or a date night! Would definitely recommend and recommend making reservations as the restaurant gets pretty packed.

I was greeted by Ana, the owner and we chatted about her new location opening up in Glastonbury, CT. If you love fresh homemade Italian pasta and or have never enjoyed this specialty before-- give it a try!

"So we're definitely going to become long time customers there, right?" Right. I've known about More since they opened because some of my Food Blogger friends did content for them when they first opened. I first experienced More's pasta at a pasta collaboration dinner with Fork and Fire. I enjoyed the More Pasta used in that dinner, but I'm not factoring it into this review. I researched More after that dinner and noticed how much area chefs seemed to respect More. My family visited More's WH Center shop on New Year's Eve and purchased the ravioli and Jarred Sage Butter mentioned above. The store is attractive and the pasta is displayed to highlight its appeal. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. I have never been to a Fresh Pasta Shop that has inspired more confidence in their pasta. The owner told me the ravioli would be done when it started floating, and she correctly predicted that would be about 3 minutes. She recommended the jarred Sage Butter, which I've never even seen in area Fresh Pasta Shops. She confirmed my guess that the best way to use the butter is to mix the melted butter with pasta water. The ravioli tasted great and the texture was perfect. The sauce was tasty and a terrific partner for the ravioli. More Italian Pasta Lab has three new big fans. 5 Stars

    I'm back! The restaurant is located on 389 Main St. in East Hartford, CT. It's been a few months…read moresince I was last here (December) which is a crime. Carmine's is a fresh from scratch kitchen that is ALWAYS open. Their appetizers, pastas, entrees and desserts combine old-world traditional Italian flavor with a modern flair for presentation, and the freshest ingredients around. Menu staples like rigatoni bolognese, fettuccine carbonara and chicken Milanese are coupled with unique recipes like chicken ala vodka and toasted almond cake. They've staffed the kitchen with a dream team of chefs and you can tell instantly! They also do parties, catering and online ordering/delivery. The restaurant is well known for its live music. There is never a cover and parking is always free. This place and produces absolutely amazing food and drinks. I have noticed quite a few menu changes. The Happy Hour menu has expanded. It's also no longer all day Monday. The main menu no longer has prices on featured drinks (although that's the tre d these days). Note that the Bar Bites menu is available open to close! The Main Menu looks the same although there is a new Wine List (that's a first here). The music is very pleasant and the right volume level. It's always a big cool in here too. For my first drink, I'm having a Pratt N Whiskey. This is made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon, sweet vermouth, red wine and sour mix. It's definitely an unusual drink. It's not garnished, but it tastes great. The wine sticks out for sure. It's clearly a shaken drink not often found with a whiskey component except for maybe Whiskey Sours. For my first item, I'm having the House Salad made with spring mix, basil, tomatoes, julienned (thinly sliced) carrots, cucumbers and house red wine vinaigrette dressing. This is a big portion! I love this dressing! This tastes great! For my next item, I'm trying the Carmine's Secret Tenderloins. These are off of Carmine's "Secret Menu." They are pan seared, caramelized chicken tenderloins, made with wine, olive oil, cracked black pepper (dried black peppercorns broken into coarse, uneven pieces), kosher salt (a coarse, flaky salt named for its use in the Jewish koshering process of drawing blood from meat), shredded Parmesan and a very special "secret sauce." I'm curious as to what this sauce tastes like. Wow! Nice presentation! These are good! I love that sauce! There's a good crowd in here (20 people). Only one worker (bartender and server). She's damn good at what she does! For my next drink, I'm having a Connecticut Cosmo. This is made with Litchfield Vodka, Wild Moon Cranberry, Triple Sec and lime juice. This vodka is the Gold Medal Winner 2018 & 2019 at the New York International Spirits Competition. Silver Medal Winner at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition!Our Gluten-Free Batchers' Vodka is distilled from luscious corn grown during the beautiful summer months in Somers, CT. We distill 4 ¾ times and use a gravity-fed charcoal filter that takes 12 hours to filter 100 gallons. The longer the vodka sits on the charcoal, the more impurities are removed, which creates an incredibly smooth taste. Bottled at 80 proof. It is impeccably clean, slightly sweet, velvety smooth mouthfeel and sweet buttery overtones. It's smooth with a warm finish with subtle notes of sweet ripe corn at the end. I actually sat down next to the owner of the Distillery at a wine pairing dinner at Flemings in West Hartford about 7-8 years ago. This looks nice! Wow! This has great flavor! For my next item, I'm having the Rigatoni Matinara. Rigatoni is a large, tube-shaped pasta with ridges on the outside and straight-cut ends. Marinara sauce is a tomato sauce usually made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and onions. I don't eat pasta all that often. This will serve as my appetizer before I hit the main course. This is a BIG portion! It is very good! For my entree I'm having the Pan Seared Salmon which is "hand cut" salmon with zesty orange glaze served over mashed potatoes with seasonal vegetables (broccoli). Add LOTS of crushed red pepper. Nod that's "LOTS." This is spicy! My kinda spicy! The plate is nice and hot! I like the presentation. This tastes great! What a great meal here!

Between the 5 minutes it took to get to us, his ice was half melted which meant they already likely had this poured and just snagged it for him and my old fashioned tasted like pure sugar. I couldn't taste the bourbon and I tried my husbands drink and it was so watered down the bourbon color was almost clear. They brought his glass out and the waiter noticed something and immediately took it back and they seemed to have poured it into another glass which then watered it down even more!!! I got the lobster bisque as an appetizer and WOW, I don't even know why they call it a bisque. It was obviously cooked in a seafood broth and overly salty as opposed to the cream base of an actual bisque. My husband ordered the filet mignon. This cut of beef is perfect all on its own but they brought it out drenched in a soup of a tangy tasting sauce that covered the plate. You couldn't even taste the steak. The mashed potatoes looked so undercooked just by looking at them. When I asked how they were, he compared them to an instant mix box kind. I got the bolognese pasta. Again, no seasoning whatsoever for being a bolognese which should have herbs and spices. The service was lackluster, we got a water refill once, the waiter rushed everytime he was at our table and was even rushing writing stuff down. THE WORST PART was the ambience. I was hoping to have a nice date night on a Tuesday night, instead all the tables are so crammed together that you can't even hear your own thoughts. We were having to sort of yell back and forth just to have a conversation. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! Go across the street to Flemings or Capital Grill in Hartford. A LOT more quality and peace for almost the same price. DO NOT RECOMMEND NOT EVEN FOR DRINKS!!!
