Food was awful...greasy and cold. Staff was awful, very rude and not attentive at all. Manager was rude, when we asked to speak to him (an older bald man) he was more interested in flirting with the female bar patrons than trying to help with our food situation. I'll start by saying the food and portion size was great, no complaints about the food AT ALL. However...... I visited this restaurant for the first time last night for a pre- planned dinner party. Upon entering, I had to walk around to find someone to greet/direct me, despite the presence of a "host" at the entrance. Some guests were greeted while others were not (strike one). After finding someone, I was told there was no reservation for the party and received no further assistance. Someone else for the party arrived and at that point we were brought to the reserved area. Once more of us were seated, one of the hosts approached the organizer and told her he made a mistake and the reservation was not in their book. When she explained the reservation had been made with the manager, he got agitated and loud to the point another staff had to intervene. After all that, the manager confirmed there WAS in fact a reservation (strike two). Once everyone was seated and settled, our server was AWESOME. He was very kind, personable and as attentive as he could be to a party of 15-18 he was managing BY HIMSELF (strike two and a half). We ate, drank, enjoyed ourselves...they wouldn't split checks so after we did all our math we paid, went home etc. Next day found out they charged my sister's card for $134 when her signed receipt was for $17 (strike three, four and five). So needless to say, I won't be patronizing this place again because of their obscenely repugnant service, despite the food being great. read more

I really enjoyed Sunday lunch with the family here. The waiter Devan (spelling of name not sure) but he was wonderful with menu suggestions, so if you visit asked for him. Loved the Blood Orange Martini. I had the chicken parmigiana (dinner portion). My sister had the luncheon. When they came to our table it was so much food but taste really good. The salad dressing for our salads are homemade. The appetizers we had were the bruschetta and calamari. The bruschetta taste so great could be a pizza with the fresh tomatoes. The calamari are from Rhode Island, verified by the chef. My mom had the grilled salmon and she loved the vegetables that accompany the dish. Me and my sister meal came with choice of pastas. We both chose the angel hair and portions were large like the meal. Dessert was great. My mom had the key lime pie and she loved it. Me and my sister shared the chocolate fudge cake. It was nice and rich. Elizabeth's family owned restaurant will definitely see me again. Almost forgot they do happy hour too. 4 to 6 and then again 9 to closing. read more

I recently celebrated my birthday at Elizabeth's in Bloomfield with just over twenty guests. The buffet food was delicious, servings were generous, and it was served at the perfect temperature. The staff was really awesome -- Our servers Jason and Talyia had great energy; we really appreciated their attentiveness to our party's needs. The bartenders Vanessa and Char were both personable and beyond capable mixologists. Loved DJ Big Mann, who kept the music going strong and took a few special birthday requests, too! I enjoyed the pleasant, drama-free evening, and received lots of compliments from my guests. That being said, I would do all again. read more

Soooo average. Maybe three stars in generous. The "chain" is notorious for poor service, so I wasn't surprised that when I walked in to pick up a takeout order, no one was at the host stand and it was a couple minutes before the bartender acknowledged me. I've been to The East Windsor location before, which failed to impress, so I held off visiting this location for quite some time. I ordered Penne a la Vodka with Chicken over the phone. The staff member asked me if I would like to switch my pasta or stick with the penne? Interesting. The portion was large, comes with a salad, and rolls. If the food was GOOD, it would be a great value. It wasn't inedible, but it just wasn't good. No seasoning, hardly any flavor, just bland. I would rather pay $20 for a smaller portion at Bricco in West Hartford. It doesn't come with anything else but it is deliciously satisfying. In addition, the rolls were poor, even slathered in butter, dipped in olive oil, or dipped in Italian dressing, they were pretty gross. The Italian dressing certainly didn't add anything to the equation, as that was unappealing as well. I live down the street and I doubt I'll be back. read more

Took a spontaneous trip up to Connecticut for my birthday this year and ended up at Elizabeth's for dinner & drinks....what a night we had! A DJ came on after a certain time and played the best music! People were getting up and dancing, it was such a blast! Not to mention, our incredible bartender Tanya! She went through the drink menu with us and gave some amazing suggestions to try that we all thoroughly enjoyed! So helpful and always smiling! read more

Went here for the first time tonight to order just a hamburger and fries. The cost is $10.95 plus .70 tax. ( So $11.65 in total ) The host took my $20.00 bill and only brings back $8.00 in change saying they "round up" the bill and don't use coins !! Really ?? When did this become legal ?? I am filing a complaint with the State Department of consumer protection as I believe this practice is Illegal to purposely "round up" a customers bill. Can I just start a store and charge people $11.65 for a shirt and say...well I'm only giving you back $8.00 from your $20.00 bill because I don't like to handle coins ?? I get the feeling that is just not allowed. Also...how many customers have had their bill "rounded up" and the money the restaurant collects...where does it go ?? Doesn't that money being collected (the "rounded up" money) need to be TAXED as INCOME for the restaurant ?? Something not quite right about this place. Music blaring was SOS Band and Mary Davis "Just Be Good To Me" from the late 1970's early 1980's Soul Train era. So they are certainly targeting the 50 year old and older crowd as few younger people would recognize that music. read more

I tried Elizabeth's for the first time recently. My wife and I sat at a table in the bar. I found the atmosphere to be comfortable. I ordered a jalapeno margarita even though it wasn't listed on the menu and the bartender made a good one, no problem. We split an order of buffalo wings for an appetizer and they were excellent! (I do consider myself a bit of a wing-snob too.) I also had the Bacon and onion pizza which was also very good. I have heard they do live music on certain evenings as well and would like to come back for that. Either way I will be coming back for the food. My husband and I were at Elizabeth's last weekend for our anniversary. We are regulars at rocky hill and are so happy there is another location for us to support. We had a wonderful dinner food wise of course like usual however the server we had was very unsettling. She was extremely unprofessional and frazzled. It gave the night a strange vibe and I'm worried she might not have been in the proper state of mind to serve...if you know what I mean. The table next to us was having a similar experience with her and said they wouldn't return. She brought salads out on this industrial tray from the kitchen and was leaving us without service for 20 minutes at a time etc. We're rooting for you Bloomfield! Definitely my new favorite place in the area. I heard good things about it but really wasn't expecting the food to be THAT good. The plates were big so we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. Everything had that special homemade flavor, delicious. The ambiance was also very accommodating. We had Lucas for our server and he just made the experience even better. We order his suggestions and he couldn't be more right about them. Very attentive and sweet. Love the atmosphere and the service of our waitress, formerly from Rockledge. Had the pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage. Absolutely delicious. Had the leftovers tonight because the portions are so generous. Just what Bloomfield needs. No reason to go to West Hartford Center when we have this quality in our neighborhood. Great music, nice set up, ambiance was just right. Service was absolutely disgusting. Walked in, there were no signs that said wait to be seated. Didn't know weather to seat myself or wait. Decided to wait for the hostess. 7-8 mins later still know hostess. Made eye contact with the bartender. He walked to the back told the hostess, she looked at us then walked away. The bartender was nice enough to seat us with menus. Waited another 10 minutes. As people came in the hostess decided to walk by us 3 times and seat others. The fourth time the hostess past us, we stopped and ask why are you waiting on others before us. She replied, "did you seat yourself?" no we didn't!! She walked away and seated more people. We stood up, put on our coats and headed for the door. One of the waiters noticed something was wrong. My wife explained to him what happened. He wanted to get the manager and suggested we eat for free. I explained to him that we're not looking for free food but close to good service and hospitality. As I'm walking through the door to leave the hostess is looking at me like I did something wrong. I was going to complain to the manager but what's the point. This hostess was clearly comfortable not giving to shits as she walked around avoiding eye contact with me up until we left. First impressions go a long way. Get rid of her and we might just go back. I could of easily went to a nice steak house for a juicy dry aged New York Strip outside the area, but no I wanted to support the restaurant in my local area. I understand that this place is fairly new but cmon get it together folks. No apologies, or can I help you or are you being waited on. Eye contact would of been nice. COMPLETELY DEVASTATED!!! Walked in to check things out! Heard such great things! Spent the first 5 minutes listening to the receptionist yelling on the phone. A waitress finally noticed me standing there and graciously took the order. She said it would be 25-30 minutes. I should point out that this was 247pm. By 345pm there was still no food, had to leave and come back. 25 minutes I was gone, by the time I returned!! 20 minutes of more waiting. Got the food home praying to enjoy chicken marsala, mashed potatoes, and asparagus to find penne pasta with red sauce. The pizza was ice cold which should be no surprise and was mediocre at best. THE BEST part, what was supposed to be salad was a bag full of salad dressing and bread!!! We won't be returning!!!! read more

I was persuaded by a friend to try this restaurant because we were in the area. Walked in the music was inviting and the hostess did acknowledge me right away, got us a table and we sat within 5 minutes. Things went downhill fast after that. Sent us a waiter who just started and really wasn't supposed to be on the floor but since they were so understaffed he had no choice. He didn't put our order in and about 30 minutes went by before anyone noticed that. Sent us a new waitress and she got our order wrong as well. Had to ask to be compensated because well they certainly didn't offer. We may go back. But it will be a while. read more

We came across this place completely by accident. When we walked in we were warmly greeted by the sweetest lady who brought us to our table and asked if we had been there before. When we said no she told us all about the menu and how the food is prepared, she was lovely! Our waiter promptly arrived and took our order. Having severe food allergies I am always nervous eating at a new place but they were very conscientious. I had the most delicious baked stuffed scrod and my friend Cajun chicken Alfredo. See, this is why we dine at establishments like Fleming's Prime Steakhouse . Unlike Elizabeth's ,they have top notch service and attend promptly to their patrons. This was our first visit to Elizabeth's. First impressions are a must. There was no hostess to seat or greet us upon entry. We waited a good 8 minutes before the bartender finally seated us , after he notified the hostess of customers waiting. And yes she saw him seat us. Then we were ignored another 10 minutes. Finally I kindly interrupted the so called hostess strolling by for a 3rd time who clearly ignored us the first two times. I guess I interrupted her daily walk. She had an attitude directed towards us as if we seated ourselves. Maliciousness . Correct me if I'm wrong , but is it not the hostess job to know the seating plan of the restaurant??? We checked out the menu before leaving and was impressed. The set up of the place was great. Music was playing, they had a good sized patronage. We were convinced we were going to have a great time. Nope, we got up and left after another 10 minutes of waiting for a server , others being served and were seated after us. The hostess knew too. So sad we won't be returning. read more

I took my mother for an early dinner on a Monday. My server was very slow and it almost felt as if she forgot she had a table or did not want to work that day. We had to ask what happened to our drinks. The reply "the bartender forgot to bring them" . Somehow I didn't believe that as other servers were bringing them. I waited a very long time before posting this and even debated not posting it at all, I was giving them time to fix their mistake as I believe everyone deserves an opportunity to make things right. But this restaurant is one of the most unprofessional and disorganized places I've ever been to. I had my son's baptism luncheon there back in May. I had to call and go to the restaurant multiple times--like 6 or 7 times-- to finalize the date and menu. And by finalize I mean repeat myself, clarify the date each time (as every time I spoke about it I was received with "we don't have you down for an event on that date"), and request pricing for the menu options I had chosen multiple times. I brought in a printed list to make things easier, which somehow got lost because apparently the original person I spoke to was no longer in charge of events (yet still worked there) and I was now dealing with a new person. Then the day of the event arrived. I was told I could arrive at a certain hour of the morning and that staff would be available to assist me in bringing in the cake. I let myself in the restaurant and had to go to the back to get someone to help me hold the door open, and they had no idea why I was there or what time my event was for. I didn't have time to go into detail at that point and was so annoyed I chose not to. Then the actual event: the staff had no idea who was hosting the event, they found out by asking all of my guests who was in charge of the bill. They also never offered any soft drinks (to be included with the food) to any of my guests, told anyone that the food was out and ready, and there was no table for the desserts to be put on (this was previously discussed as they knew a cake was being brought in as well). At the end of the event when it came time to pay, the numbers were totally and completely different than what had been discussed multiple times. The "event manager" wasn't there that day--after assuring me she would be there--and the wait staff said they couldn't get ahold of her. Frustrated and tired I just paid and moved on. I called later on that week to speak with the woman who I had been dealing with, explained my frustration, and requested to have the majority of my gratuity returned to me: $155.87. She agreed and was apologetic for my experience. I gave my cc number and was told it would be some business days before I received the money. I NEVER RECEIVED IT. Multiple calls went unreturned so I just gave up. But beware when dealing with this restaurant, they have no idea what they're doing and I have not been back since, wish is a shame because the food is good, but that experience left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

Mother's Day Fiasco- My wife wasn't feeling well on Mother's Day so we decided to try take out from Elizabeth's because their menu looked promising. We placed our order and told it would be 30 minutes great we thought for such a busy dinner evening! As I walked in loud music from their DJ was playing not the Mother's Day ambiance I expected but since I was just picking up I didn't really care. Felt sorry for other groups of families as the walked in and were confronted by the loud music. After waiting for 15 minutes past the promised 30 minutes the host with a man bun finally acknowledged me. He said I thought I saw your food I'll be right back. After another 15 minute he came back and asked how he could help me.. What?? I repeated my name and order and he disappeared again. After another 5 minutes he came out and told me the kitchen had no more pizzas. I should have know this would have been the result as a party of 8 with 7PM reservation waited until 8 to be seated and the woman in the takeout line in front of me waited for over an hour for grilled salmon! Ridiculous way to run a business Elizabeth's owners and management should be ashamed of their shoddy customer service. read more
