A Pancit Chicken Adobo Bowl sisig style
    Taylor N.

Order was prepared super quickly even when they were incredibly busy. The bowl was delicious and the fruit and vegetables tasted very fresh. The adobo chicken had tons of flavor. We got it sisig style which we loved. We also ordered the beef lumpia which was perfect! So nice to sit on the patio here!

The lumpia itself does it for me! Whether crossing their food truck or now their spot in the Village Market, I can't say no to ordering it, even when I want to try another spot for my main entree. Last night my lumpia was very flavorful and the dipping sauce had a good kick to it. My husband also ordered the chicken adobo over noodles and another dish with beef over rice, topped with vegetables. Personally, I'd recommend the rice base as I find the noodles to be bland and take away from the meats and sauces. Our experience with the team was friendly and helpful, and our meal was brought out quickly to our table. I encourage you to support this local, family-owned business. If you are new to them, entrees and snacks are shareable with family and friends.

We came to the Village market as a group of 8 looking for some dinner. We loved the selection here. Well a couple of us found out the hidden gem here is at Sarap! WOW what great food and service. The lumpia were amazing. Then the noodle bowl with chicken was also great. Our friend got a special with the pork belly. By far the best dish out of the 8 people at the table tried. Service was great and super fast. I would highly recommend Sarap if you come to the village market.

Recommended by someone I met and I'm glad they did! Generous lunch portion that was hearty without the heavy.

Mixed Platter feeds 2-4 It looked prettier... but a real foodie tastes then takes a pic!!!

This was a nice surprise to find in Louiville. I was kinda apprehensive because of the reviews. But after reading the reviews, and why they gave bad stars, I decided to check it out myself. Every one was extremely nice and attentive. Food game out fast and fresh. I will say it didn't taste like the way I cook it. But if I wanted it exactly the was I do it I would have ate at home. Lol it was the same "food" a different style and it was delicious. Everyone was happy and full when we finished. I spoke with Ruddy one of the owners. Explained how much I liked it and appreciated him, his food, and the experience. Let him know that I have a uncle Ruddy also. He said he could also be me my uncle Ruddy. LoL Thanks Again Uncle Ruddy!!!

The food was fine. Portions were filling. Was a bit overpriced. Service was very good.

    Pancit Chicken Adobo Bowl

I got the chicken adobo bowl with half pancit half rice. It was meh. Some of the noodles were overcooked, some of the chicken was burnt. The rice was good. There's a random pineapple slice that I don't feel meshed with the rest of this. It's pricey food too. Was served out meals super quick but there also was literally zero other people there. The place is in a building with four or five other eateries called The Village Market - a clean, quiet establishment.

Lumpia, banana lumpia, adobo Chicken with garlic rice and kare kare sauce.

Limited menu and by the time we got there the siopao (meat filled buns) were already sold out. But I still got what I wanted! I got the chicken adobo over garlic rice with a side of kare kare. My daughter got the chicken skewers with Pancit. Loved the sauce that came with the lumpia but it would have been just as tasty on its own. The food was good, a little pricey but worth it to not have to cook it myself and worth giving it a try if you like Filipino food. Thanks for a great meal!

My husband enjoyed his hotdog with yum yum sauce it was half sausage and half cheese, though he said it was mainly cheese not sausage. His was warm to eat and held together. Mine on the other hand was scorching hot, the wooden dowel slipped right out and it appears all the cheese did as well. I ended up with a super fried outside full of hot grease and remnants of the cheese that was supposed to be in there. My guess is the frier was just up way too high. They also overlooked our order so we finally had to go ask about it. Also note in the middle of summer the food court area is very hot due to the skylights but it was stagnant in the sitting/dining area. Off this visit I don't know that I would be back for a Korean style hotdog anytime soon.

I partook of the Flea Off Market most recently at its annual indoor holiday bazaar, this year held at Mellwood Art Center. This included a couple of food trucks plus vendors set up throughout the two outside buildings at the art center. I also appreciate how well the Flea sets the mood for their markets, with DJs in each building and a bar where you can buy drinks. The Flea has always been more of an experience, where it's fun to shop and also to hang out. During this most recent market, I found several creative vendors that I wished I could buy from. I said to my friend who accompanied me, "I wish I had people cool enough on my Christmas list to buy some of these things for." Alas, I just had family on my list. ;-P Some of my favorite finds, though, included Georgia's Sweet Potato Pie Co. (also has a spot in the Highlands that's worth a visit!), SnoWhat, Eichen Design, FLY Girl Candles and Eden & Kissi (also has a physical location that you should go to in Buechel). I was also struck by the idea that I really need to make it a point to go to more of the Flea's outdoor markets next year so I can shop these great vendors not just at the holidays. Thanks for continuing to bring some wonderful weirdness to Louisville, Flea Off Market!
