If you live in this area and you need a full doctor medical exam, this is the office you want to go to. Between Dr. Harry Halscheid and his knowledgeable & friendly staff (hi Pam & Debbie), I have been well taken care of for all this time. I have had a long history of issues with my eyes, and was always cautioned to pay attention whenever or if I see bright flashing lights. Thankfully, I didn't travel this Thanksgiving weekend, and I was able to get Dr Reto's attention right away when I was seeing something not right. Through a series of phone calls and text messages we concluded I likely had a retinal tear or detachment. Dr. Reto came in on a Sunday morning after Thanksgiving, and drew his conclusion of a retina tear and put me in touch with an on call retina surgeon (Dr. Saran). Two top notch (no interns here) on call doctors on a Sunday! This tag team surely prevented me from potentially getting a detachment and / or losing the vision in my left eye! Another 15 minutes go by and the lady that had arrived after me begins to complain, the staff decide to jump her ahead of me. Waited an hour to even be seen and the doctor didn't provide any information or results that made me walk out satisfied. The urgent care had provided me with antibiotics and the doctor was upset I couldn't remember the name of the antibiotic. Wouldn't return or recommend this place to anyone. If you want fast service complain and they'll jump you 2+ people.

This made me lose all trust in their billing practices. If they mishandle a claim or insurance rejects something, I have no doubt they'd just charge the card without doing the proper follow-up. In today's environment of healthcare data breaches, requiring a card on file with no limits or opt-out is not just unsafe--it's unethical. I mentioned I'm happy to pay with credit card but I'm not providing this on paper. What is this 1980? Walked out and submitted a security complaint for the office. The time before this, I came in for an eye test with a nurse who was clearly sick and coughing all over the place and sneezing. She refused to wear a mask so I told her I was uncomfortable with her being that close to my face with no mask. Overall, will never go back here and do not recommend this place to anyone.

Dr. Bumsted is extremely thorough and keeps up with the latest technology. I initially took my…read morescript to Costco to be filled, but after several weeks trying to 'get accustomed' to progressive trifocals, I could not function. Costco agreed to remake the glasses and I tried again. I ended up going back to Dr. Bumsted's office because I thought my prescription was wrong, he checked the glasses against the script and then rechecked my eyes. All were good. He suggested that the term 'progressive trifocals' was as informative as saying 'I had fruit for lunch' (i.e. lots of different kinds) I ordered a pair from Dr. Bumsted. Yes it was 4X the price. But I put them on and I could see immediately - super close & far away - No 'get used to them time' - zero. I would add that the doc is very detailed & methodical and maybe quite introverted that may come off as unfriendly. However, he is kind and friendly, just not in a 'in your face' kind of way.

Dr Luscavage's office charges $50 and waves that if you buy contacts there. Much more fair pricing structure working with what insurances pay. For my children I was not charged anything over what the insurance paid.
