Dr Drew Chronister is amazing, very caring and has great bedside manners. He takes to time to let you know what he's is about to do and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed! After the examination he makes sure you understand his prognosis and carefully explains your next steps to assure the health of your eyes. I was a 40 year patient of Dr. Levin, got along with him fine, he helped me a lot. But since he left it seems as a lot of his staff left too. Wait times are longer, I was shifted over to Dr. Pao, who was some what rude, I was polite to her, she told me if I didn't follow her instructions I could no longer come there! (I never said I wasn't going to). But that comment kinda ticked me off so I did go to another practice that takes my insurance for the eye exam as well as for new lenses and frames. As someone else stated, seems kind of stupid that focus takes my insurance for eye exam but pro specs next door doesn't. They won't have to worry about ever seeing me there again. read more

Some of the techs can be less than personable but I only have good things to say about Dr. Luminais. He's clear, direct, and trustworthy.

My wife and I, and our parents, have been very satisfied patients of Focus Eye Group for about 30 years. I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor in 2003 by Dr. Levin and he guided me with the best possible recommendations in selecting Wills Eye for further testing, and Thomas Jefferson Hospital for surgery and radiation treatments. Since then, I have been seeing Dr. Smith on followup testing and general eye exams. My wife and I are extremely happy with her care. After an appointment on 12/19/23, Dr. Smith referred me to Dr. Pao due to the possible onset of glaucoma and changes in my visual fields test. I saw Dr. Pao on 2/08/24. After testing by her, she advised me, without detailed explanation, that I could no longer drive and she was required to report her findings to PennDot. She then stated that she instead would refer me to Great Valley Eye Associates and have them make the decision. I saw them on 3/04/24 and they advised I was okay to drive. Being unhappy with Dr. Pao's handling of the situation, I called Focus Eye Group and asked to switch my follow up appointment to Dr. Chronister. I talked to Lynn and was told Dr. Chronister was not accepting new patients. I explained I have been a long term patient and she said she would check with him and call back. After not hearing back, my wife called a week later. We were told he would consider existing patients but was satisfied with Dr. Pao's plan of action. I have not heard back from them. If I don't, my wife and I will strongly consider taking our business elsewhere! read more

I find Lynn is extremely rude, she hung up on me in the middle of saying good morning before I started to talk. I called back a few times and she hung up another 3 times avoiding picking up the phone. Its extremely rude and I will just take my money elsewhere if staff is stuck up like that. read more

This group is incredible. I send at least 3 people to them a month and they are very accommodating and thorough with their eye exams. They understand the concerns of the patients and hear what they say. I am very well pleased. I also use them and wouldn't think of changing. read more

I was not happy with the staff here !! They were not nice at the desk when coming into the office and my daughter and I we're not happy with our perscription for glasses and it was very inconvienant that they do not have frames to choose from in there office and the place next door that sell frames do not accept our insurance !! Why have a place that sells frames that don't accept insurance that the eye Dr does ,I had to go to Exton to another store just to fill our scripts and they were not useful to us and we waisted time and money read more

Dr. Levin scratched my cornea during cataract surgery and they tried to blow it off like it was no big deal and I had to go to the ER for pain. Then my script got lost in cyberspace on the way to the pharmacy and Dr. Levin refused to write me a new script. I going somewhere else now for the other eye and I hope I have better luck. read more

Well, if I were reviewing just Dr. Levin and his support staff, this merit the 5 stars. I was tempted only to give them 4 for reasons mentioned below. We were there to get a second opinion on issues with my wife regarding cataracts and her retinas. On our very first visit we got Dr. Levin by chance, having asked for "next available". We saw two support staff members and then Dr. Levin. All were cheerful, friendly, and very helpful, explaining at each step what they were doing and why. What almost kept this from 5 stars is that the practice is very busy, We had quite a wait before we were seen and a shorter but still a bit annoying wait between stages. The office was *C*O*L*D*. I think that subtle distinction between air conditioning and refrigeration had been lost. Next visit we'll bring jackets and the laptop. (They have wifi.) We forgot to pick up an information printout about my wife's condition and without our asking they mailed it to us. We ended up with enough confidence in their practice that we've decided that both of us will use them in the future. read more

@ Dr. Levin. I agree that collaboration between Dr. and patient is a two way street. That's exactly what you lacked on that particular day. Be honest and admit you got upset because I couldn't make my eyes stay open while you shined a powerful bright light in them. One of my complaints coming to you that day was that my eyes had become sensitive to light. Perhaps that why they couldn't take the powerful light. This was my third visit with you, and as a thorough and efficient Dr. , you could have looked at my chart and seen that on the prior two visit, I had no problems when you shined the bright light in my eyes, as such, there was obviously something going on with my eyes. Then you get upset because I asked a question as to why I was experiencing blurred vision and smartly replied, I'm not willing to do cataract surgery on someone who has 20/20 vision. I certainly understood your reply, and wasn't asking you to do so. I simply asked about blurred vision because as you know, I have an autoimmune disease that can cause issues with my eyes. Instead of understanding my concerns, you do something unprofessional and walk out without answering my question. As a patient, I have every right to ask question concerning my health, especially when I'm paying for your service. I wish you could have treated me as nice as you treated another client, who wasn't your client, but who you engaged with about his real estate ventures, as I sat patiently waiting. My time is just as valuable as yours and I deserve fair treatment and that's why I quickly dismissed myself from your practice and quickly found Dr James Judge at 213 Reeceville, who I would recommend just after my one visit with him. He was very patient and understanding and took time to address my concerns. He explained everything very clearly. All I can think of to explain your behavior is perhaps you have made enough money from your client and don't feel the need to act professional anymore? read more

They are just too big to be accommodating. 10 minutes late for an appt because of a work situation and they had to reschedule me for two weeks later. I called on the way to let them know I'd be a few minutes late. Also, every time I'm there, the doctors are not friendly, especially one of the female docs there, no personality. read more

Visited this place three time and each time I was seen by Dr. Levin. Each visit was unpleasant and I felt as if I was a bother to him. Today, the staff was reading my chart and she said you have catarats. This was a surprise to me as I wasn't told this on the last visit. Once Dr. Levin came in I asked him about the catarats and he said yes I have them. I told him my vision has become blurred and very sensitive to light. He wanted to check my eyes with a high powered light that was so powerful that my eyes kept getting weak and closing and I couldn't keep them open. Dr. Levin got very upset and said I can't help you. I tried to explain to him that I was doing my best to keep my eyes open but that the light was to powerful and making them close. I then asked him about catarat surgery and he said he wasn't going to do it. I asked him if that was causing the blurred vision and he got mad and said there is an eye place in West Chester maybe they will do catarat surgery on someone who has 20/20 vision and walked out of the room refusing to help me further. I will not go back to this place and will be making a complaint with my insurance company. read more

Don't go to this practice. : ( The doctor doesn't seem able to write accurate prescriptions for eyeglasses. Just went to a different ophthalmology practice and got a new prescription that is terrific! I will never go back to Levin & Luminais Eye Associates. read more
