This isn't fancy, but it's fast and it's hot and it's tasty! Do you like teriyaki? Good! Because that's what you're getting if you go here. Overall, this is a great restaurant. We ordered teppanyaki chicken with noodles, and it came with generous portions of everything. One order with extra meat was plenty for two as a light meal. It's flavorful, but the sauce isn't overbearing and you can still taste the ingredients themselves. The service is always fast, and I love that you can see your meal as it is cooked and assembled. Utensils, napkins, and sriracha sauce are available on the counter. It is a little pricier than most food court options- basic meals are about $11-14, but ours came out to about $20 after adding extra meat, noodles, and a drink. The sauce is soooooo good, and the chicken is so juicy and tasty. I've been eating their teriyaki chicken since 1999 in Indiana, and their recipe hasn't changed at all! It's freshly made in front of you which is more than I can say for their neighbors next door. The people are awesome and always full of energy. But we can't eat the people so let's talk about the food. I usually order chicken teriyaki which isn't bad at all. Today I ordered Beef and shrimp. I was thinking surf and turf in my head. I usually get the fried rice even though it's usually greasy and not so tasty. Switching to white rice next time. This place would be a four or five star spot if they just added more flavor to their dishes. Maybe a pinch of salt and pepper while prepping the meat. I usually love this locationa food but this time it taste EXTREMELY freezer burnt. Very VERY unsatisfied.

I will never eat at this establishment after the amount of disrespect I received today. As I waited at the counter one man was on his phone, behind the counter, on what seemed to be a personal phone call. The other man was standing at the grill making the food and waiting for it to cook. No one greeted me or asked me what I would like. After about a min, the man on the phone just puts a finger up to say "one min". I shook my head and smiled. The next second a beautiful young woman walks up and stands behind me. The man at the grill welcomes her and offers her a sample. The man then attempts to talk to the beautiful young lady behind me before asking me what I wanted. I then responded with "I'm going to take my business elsewhere". This is highly frustrating to me. Your customer service sucks. read more

I won't go to the restaurant again. I ordered a shrimp teriyaki combo with a small coke. The fried rice is far away delicious, and so the shrimp teriyaki is. The food is ...oh my god...Honestly speaking, Japanese is a nation with perfect spirit. The Japanese always wants everything done perfect. I just can not feel anything about perfect, frankly speaking, far away perfect, in this restaurant. The price for the shrimp combo with a small coke is around $8-8.5, and it is enough to eat in Peiking Buffet. I will NEVER EVER go to the restaurant. Furthermore, the service is also not good. I am sorry to tell you that the Sarku Japan restaurant in the coral Ridge Mall is serving food that is almost inedible. I so very seldom write a bad review,(you can check all m reviews on tripadvisor 'ronandjoan') I just had to let you know about this restaurant... Are the other Sarku japan franchises like this? ( We love tempura so we choose this restaurant. we had the chicken and shrimp combo 1. The tempura was breaded very heavily - very heavily - usually it is light light. I pulled off most of it around the food and it was obviously not regular tempura batter 2. The shrimp pieces were unbelievable. First of all it was overcooked. The breading was so crispy - it was rather good (being more cooked than that around the chicken, but I did not buy it for breading, I pulled off the breading to eat the shrimp - it was a stringy little stick but I ate it - started to --to spit it out it was so tough. 3. The "vegetables" were 99% cabbage - I have one small piece of broccoli and one carrot slice, The rest was cabbage. very unusual for other Asian restaurants we have eaten in 4. even the steamed rice was old...and soon cold. Teriyaki chicken with double meat and mixed vegetables is my standard order. Staff is very friendly and they cook very fast, make sure to ask for extra sauce ! Lunch for under $10 is awesome in the mall. Zombie Burger was over $16. No comparison in my mind. read more

I was up all night vomiting from food poisoning I got here. I should have had a problem with the fact that they put a ton of raw chicken on the grill right before they dished up my food. Ordered shrimp tempura, then they proceeded to sit around laughing at me while watching me look confused, as it took 15 minutes for my food to come out. They "cooked it in the back" (questionable) at the same time one of the ladies working was eating food over the prep station and "wash your hands" roughly translates to wipe your face, then hands with a napkin, and call it good.
