Delivery was by DoorDash who I've never had any luck with and they left my food and didn't even ring my bell which was right above the food. Gone by the time I got there and my salad was missing. When I called the restaurant the "manager" answered and immediately blamed the driver for leaving it behind. He said he can't deliver my salad because he has no driver and would credit my account (didn't know I had an account). I said no thanks just credit my credit card to which he responded I can't I don't have the authority to do that. Manager???? A terrible experience, all around. This review is based off of a delivery order. Started with my call to the restaurant to confirm that they had received my note. The woman on the phone kept rushing me and wouldn't allow me to get to my question, continually saying "okay, so, how can I help you". Let me ask the question and then you would know. The terrible experience continued when the pizza arrived; the dough was undercooked, and the pizza was missing a main topping! We ordered the Vegan Mediterranean Classic which comes with Vegan Al Dente Pizza Sauce, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Onions, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, Beyond Meat Italian Sausage, and Daiya Mozzarella Cheese. The pizza was missing the Italian Sausage. I don't understand how they skipped a main topping. The pizza was just not good in taste. I didn't eat any more than a slice, when ordered. The next day, I bought some beyond sausage to cook and top the pizza and baked it longer. I've been to the Sarpino's Albany Park location and had an amazing experience, so when I ordered from this location I was expecting something similar. I'm not entirely sure whom I spoke with, but it's 2:08 a.m. I ordered at 1:00 on Sunday June 14 (coming out of June 13). I called for clarification and the guy who answered the phone said "it's going to take forever when you tip $1.11" ,not understanding there would be a tip when they arrived. He then hung up on me and declined my call when I called back only trying to figure out the drop off status of my order. I was very excited to order pizza from Sarpinos's. I usually go to the one on Fairview, but I saw there was one closer to my house. I ordered an 8 inch pizza. It was buy one get one free. I opened the box and the pizza wasn't even 5 inches big. It was the size of my hand. My hand is 5 inches. The pizza was supposed to be cut in eight pieces. I had repeatedly ordered food from this place with no issues, and this had made me willing to continue doing business with them without concern. Unfortunately, though, they must have multiple delivery drivers, and the last one is a thief and a liar. Very awkward. I place my orders with them through DoorDash, as that is the easiest method and they are on DashPass. Unfortunately, since they don't let DoorDash do their deliveries for them, the only way to raise any concerns at all is through the store directly. My last order with them was marked as delivered, but the doorbell never even rang. Suddenly, I got a message thanking me for the tip the driver had collected from me. When I responded that I didn't have my order, I was told that it was my fault for not accepting this person's phone call. I said I hadn't received a call, and I was sent a screenshot of a bunch of numbers but not mine. I said my number wasn't there, and they accused me of lying. Honestly, it's not uncommon for delivery drivers to not read the DoorDash instructions or not make any effort at all, so I pointed out that the instructions are in the app and even shared *why* I rely on DoorDash instead of just going to pick up pizza myself. I was again belittled for not picking up my phone, and the lie was extended to include a voicemail. Of course, I have no voicemail message from this fiend either. I made my way downstairs to the only table that anyone could access without being let into the building by someone. Of course, there is no food there or even anywhere inside the lobby. This driver snottily persists in their lying, adding some crap about their boss seeing them deliver or some such. (It must have been Houdini pizza.) I did try calling the store, but I was cut off, told to be on hold just long enough to look up my order, left on hold, and then told that this issue of exceedingly poor character in a Sarpino's team member is somehow DoorDash's responsibility. I tried to explain DoorDash does not accept complaints, since Sarpino's insists on doing their own deliveries, but the girl on the phone again cut me off, made a rude remark to insist I could go through DoorDash, and hung up on me. The guy handing me my food was polite, and I really liked how my pizza was made exactly how I wanted. Unfortunately, I've had the pizza again since then and I am sad to say it didn't taste as good the 2nd time. As I bit into the pizza their was a very weird after taste. It reminded me of some inedible substance that a person isn't suppose to eat, for example dish washing liquid. This was the only pizza place open late so we were not expecting much. It's very rare now days to get more then one expects. Wow.....Sarpino's pizza delivered more than expected. Pizza sauce was very good. Toppings were plentiful and crust was good. Only drawback was driver did not let us know he dropped it off and did not include a menu. Also plus they cut it pie shape vs the weird Chicago square cut. Really excellent pizza made with fresh ingredients, Exceeded our expectations. It's always hard to review chains, or "fast food" style restaurants. There is always a degree of "Well, what do you expect?" when it comes to those sorts of establishments. But just because you are a chain or a fast food restaurant, doesn't mean you can't delivery a quality, consistent product with great service. Specifically this location of Sarpino's never fails me. They are quick, efficient, friendly, with quality food in good portion sizes at a decent price. From the sandwiches to the calzone to the actual pizza, I have enjoyed nearly everything I've tried. Sure not everything on a menu this large is going to be a winner. But the true tell-tale sign of a good location is consistency, and I know every time I want a cheese calzone with ricotta and an orange soda I can come here and not be disappointed. read more

Sarpino's offers some great values, especially if you order online. The basic build your own pizza crust is hand tossed. It had a nice chew to it and the sauce and cheese achieved a good balance. One of the cool things about Sarpino's is the great variety of dipping sauces. One comes free and extras are only $0.69 each. We ordered the butter garlic and the jalapeño ranch. The butter garlic was a great compliment to the pizza. The jalapeño ranch, on the other hand, is more of a sauce which stands alone. It's gets a real kick from the peppers.
