Really excellent pizza and food, mozzarella sticks are really good. Just needs to open earlier on the weekend. 1pm is just too late to wait for lunch and we have ended up ordering from other places that we like a lot less because of it. Before I even ordered I gave them an automatic 5 stars on google. I can tell you I didn't regret that at all. This place has authentic Chicago thin or extra thin-crust reminds me of my childhood and definitely can contend for the best Chicago style pizza.( and I'm not talking about tourist deep dish). I ordered a pizza last night! Half pepperoni for kids. Half mushroom, green pepper, spinach, sausage. Beef sandwich and hot wings. Never had a problem with them. Got home I had unexpected company. Waited 2 hrs to eat. Opened box and this is what I got. Paid $30 for this pizza and didn't get what I wanted.called 6 x no answer. End of last year ordered a pizza and arrived to pick up and notice the kid pull my pizza out and start to move slices back in place because after cutting they moved. Well he used his fingers and kept sucking the sauce off his fingers. That is my pizza and I dont want his spit. I complained and asked for my money back. She gave me my money back and said she would tell the owner but I was curious, so in Jan I went there ordered fries and guess what... That kid is still there and still licking his fingers. This place is the best if you live nearby, if not try Fassano's pizza which is also nearby. The dinners are clearly frozen so, if you can, only get the pizza. They offer a decent variety of toppings and their prices are pretty moderate. They have a thin crust and an extra thin crust, honest I've had both and they are practically the same so don't stress about it. Usually there is an older woman working behind the counter, she is the owner. I've only had good experiences with her, but some of my family tell me she is rude. Overall this place is good to try once or twice, but I'm sure you're not going to get attached. read more

Lets put John Gino's on the map! My father lives right down the street so when I'm back for a visit this is the pie we order. John Gino's has the Chicago thin crust pizza down pat. Perfect sauce, the sausage is plentiful and well-seasoned. The crust is not cracker-thin, but its not that chain-style bread crust. Plenty of cheese means I'm a happy girl. They also have great sides. I order the fried mushrooms often. Seeing as how I only get "real" pizza when I come back for a visit, you'd think I'd rush down to one of the well known places. This place deserves no stars!! I ordered 2 sandwiches on a Saturday shortly after they opened. I planned on using a coupon for a buy one get one free sandwich. When I picked up my order I was told that this coupon can't be used on Saturdays and she was sorry that it doesn't state that on the coupon. I can use it on Tues., Thurs. & Fri. Well I was not happy. Ordered pizzas here today! Here's my breakdown the 2 pizzas I receive had plenty of cheese the toppings were adequate however. The very obvious basil base sauce was lacking as far as sauce and it had way too much basil! Both of my children complained the pizza had a lingering aftertaste I believe it might be the basil! the only words my wife had was not impressed ! I have lived in Hickory hills for 6 years now and John Ginos was the first and only place I would order pizza from. Well yesterday I ordered a pizza, went to pick it up and the young lady tells me a couple more minutes it will come out. Perfect, nice hot pizza. Well I see this kid pulling out the pizzas, and cutting it up. Then I see the Med pizza I ordered come out and he cuts it but apparently pizza pieces didnt stay lined up. Well he starts to push the pieces back to a round shape with his bare fingers. Oh some sauce gets on his fingers and he licks that sauce and continues to push the pizza back to shape. He did this 4 times and I had the face of disgust. They closed up the box and the lady starts to hand the pizza to me when I tell her NO THANK YOU. I want my money back and told her what I just saw. She didnt say anything to the kid and said she would tell the owner which I dont think that would happen. Well this was the last time I will order from there. I will order elsewhere.
