I came here for the first time on Sunday and returned on Tuesday. Lots of yummy options to choose from and their tzatziki (something I am often on the lookout for) is delicious. I had the Mediterranean chicken, and though it was a bit too salty, was still very good. The fatoush is a basic, but yummy salad. The Lebanese curry was flavorful, and not at all spicy (which I was pleased with). The pita wasn't amazing, but the pita chips were great. I love this place. I had been eating at Neomonde on Hillsborough St since they opened in the early 2000's. Now that I live in NW Raleigh, it's so convenient to have Sassool out here and I think their selection is better than Neomonde. The lentil soup is a favorite for when I'm sick. Their sampler platter is my go-to. I love the baba ghanoush, lentils, and super salad. Their desserts are fabulous - They have gluten-free and vegan options! I give up. The first time I visited Sassool, I was served raw chicken kabob - twice. The redo was just as raw. I had to take it home and cook it. The next time I visited, the chicken curry was barely warm. On this visit, I ordered lentil soup thinking that was hard to mess up - but it tasted like an entire carton of salt was in it and I'm usually the last person to complain about salt. I love salt, but this was completely inedible. They must make other things that are great, but I have yet to have any of them. read more

Food is fresh and really good. I always get the mediterrean chicken salad wrap plus you can't go wrong with any of the desserts. I've tried both locations in Raleigh and very pleased with my visits. The pita bread is delicious but even better if you can get it hot when it first comes out the stone oven. The baklava is a great little calorie bomb that has great texture and taste. Not too much sweet but just enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. read more

I went here when it was Neomondes, and haven't been in a while and came back tonight for a catered event. They did a great job! They had a nice selection of food (loved the meatballs), and had some yummy desserts to try from JP's Pastrey. Their olive oil/sesame blend is delicious, a very good quality oil. I don't like hummus, but a friend who does said it was top notch. The staff were friendly and accommodating to the large crowd. I will definitely be coming back for a full meal soon! read more

I've loved going to Sassool since moving to Raleigh. Not today though. Their service was horrendous. I placed my order online and when I went in 20 minutes later the food still wasn't ready. They were too busy to check on my order or answer questions. The lady at the cash register said that it wasn't her job and I should ask someone else. Finally when my order came it was completely wrong. I ordered shawarma wraps and was given falafel sandwiches and a tuna sandwich. By that point it was too late to fix the problem and I had to head back to work. Thank you to the kind waiter who tried to help out. He is the only reason I'm giving this place one star. read more

Excellent fresh food. The North Raleigh location is noisy and very busy at lunch time, but the food and breads are wonderful.

Love this place! The food is delicious and their market carries a number of Mediterranean goods that are difficult to find anywhere else. This place has amazing Mediterranean but the service is pretty awful every time I come! They cannot get it together. They charge you for things when they shouldn't. This has quickly become my favorite place to get take-out on nights or afternoons I don't feel like cooking. They have a great variety of cold salads and hot foods- there is always something new to try, your favorites are always there, and we have never, EVER been disappointed by trying something new. They also have lots of GF and Dairy Free options, which I need and appreciate. The owners are extremely warm and kind people. We are customers for life and tell everyone about it! Our absolute favorite place to eat lunch! I could eat here every day if my budget would allow. Speaking of budget though, you can't go wrong here! Huge platters are heaped with nothing but fresh, flavorful food. They use local veggies from farmers market and salads and pita bread is made fresh on site. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the store is meticulously clean. My favorites are kale salad, jalapeño hummus, mujadara (with a dollop of labneh on top), and chicken salad. Sassool has become one of our favorite spots out with the kids, or when we have guests in town for an extended stay and we want to mix our meals up. The bar of hot foods and salads is always changing their specials, but also keeps some staples (including their delicious cilantro hummus) on hand. You can also order children's plates and kabob skewers from the grill in the back. I haven't eaten a single thing from Sassool that I didn't like and even my picky kids get excited when they find out we're taking them. Their mujadarrah is one of my favorite items - I could seriously just take a spoon to a pint size container and go to town. Oh and their spanakopita? I think they only make it on Friday and Saturday night's but it's so flaky and delicious... definitely grab a serving if you see it in the display case. I use to love this place and patronized it often. Portion sizes keep getting smaller each time I go. Friends who also eat here have noticed the same. When mentioning that the lasagna portion is much smaller than I've received before, I was told that it depends on who makes it. So your quality is based on the whim of an employee? Don't quite understand that one. The lady assisting me spoke to another employee in a black jacket about the small portions. The lady in the black jacket acted like she was doing me a favor and took the lasagna portion from one of my boxes and replaced it with a different small piece. I had two of the same platters with small portions. How does that help? I was expecting a bit more added to each platter because it was just that small. I paid and left.This is also not the first time I've dealt with an employee with attitude here. Definitely not in a hurry to return to this restaurant. read more

I love the food and come here often. Always so many choices for vegetarians. The fresh warm pitas are a great touch. My wish is some more variety in the options at both hot and cold counters. Because I eat here, neomonde and cary sassool regularly, I am getting a little bored. Also, as one of those people for whom cilantro tastes really awful (this is genetic and well-documented ), I wish they wouldn't use it in so many of the cold salads. I frequently eye the sweet potato, corn and root vegetable salads and pray for a worldwide cilantro shortage. That said, I still really love this place. Definitely the best Lebanese/Mediterranean food I've had in Raleigh. The kabobs are great...go with Chicken as I think the meat is seasoned the best. All the sides are great too and you can chose from hot and cold including hummus, tabouli, chick pea salads, black bean salds, stuffed grape leaves, kibbeh, and so much more. Oh, and fresh baked pitas. They have wines and beers from the Mediterranean but none are great from what I've tasted. The deserts, namely the baklava varieties are out of this world. Minus one star for lack of real options when it comes to your "meat" of the meal. The kabobs are pretty much your main option for a good, well-rounded meal. read more
