Let me start with this: I am absolutely biased because Aladdin's is my favorite restaurant ever! And I'm not ashamed to admit it. I've practically followed this place across states and cities. I discovered Aladdin's years ago when I lived in Northern Virginia. After that first visit, I was hooked and started going several times a year. When the Shirlington location closed, they reopened in Burke, and that became my new go‑to spot every time I visited the area. And then, heartbreak , they closed that location too. One day I randomly searched to see if they had opened anywhere else, and you won't believe it... they popped up right here in North Carolina, the same state I now live in! And while it's not in Charlotte, my brother lives in Raleigh, which means every trip to see him doubles as an excuse to visit Aladdin's. My usual order is the shawarma rolled, and trust me when I say it's the best! The savory, flavorful meat paired with those pickled veggies, plus all the heavenly spices and sauces, well t's just perfect! I've had shawarma at countless places over the years, and nothing even comes close to theirs. I typically grab an appetizer as well, dolmas or falafel. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Every dish I've tried has been spectacular. Introduced my brother and wife to this place, and they've already been back! To give you an idea of how deep my love for this place goes, the last time I visited I ordered 4 extra shawarma rolls to go, froze them, and rationed them out at home. They don't hold up perfectly after being frozen but I did still enjoy every single one. Definitely not what I was expecting. I love Mediterranean food and this just was not it. The baklava was really dry and so were the other pie desserts. The pizza was just nodded, I did not like how crispy the pizza was, and the cheese just tasted funky. It was a go order, so I didn't get to release the inside, I'm sure it was set up nice, but we will definitely not be back to eat. Checked out Aladdin's Eatery yesterday and it was a good, not great, but a good experience. This is my second time eating at Aladdin, the first time at the Brier Creek location which I loved, and this second time at the North Hills location. Despite it being less than a week from Christmas and the shopping center it is in is quite hectic due to the holidays, I was able to find a spot by scavenging. I appreciate that the lot is very large, and people are always coming and going, so if you wait just a tad or if you park by Walgreens, you'll get a spot sooner, than later. I ordered the: - Taza Chicken Salad - 10/10 - delicious, flavorful and so much variety - Flavor Savor Special - 8/10 - the beef and the falafel was a bit dry that I couldn't finish (and I usually always finish my food) but the chicken thigh and everything else was licked up clean - Mango Smoothie - 10/10 - so refreshing, and you can tell, its super fresh Our server Leena was absolutely wonderful, she was so sweet, polite, helpful - just so gracious. Me and hubby had a mid-week date lunch at Aladdin's in North Hills. As always, the food is always fresh and delicious! We ordered the Spicy Cauliflower for the appetizer with their homemade hot sauce, followed by their Lamb Shawarma Pita Wrap! Hubby got his fav, the Flavor Savor. The unexpected highlight of the meal were the Falafels! They were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. We usually don't like these because they can be dense and gritty. My only criticisms on the meal were not to have the fried cauliflower swimming in the sauce. We were expecting it on the side. The other, the cook got a little zealous with toasting my pita wrap... but the pleasant service more than made up for any shortcomings. Will definitely come back again. read more

My sister-in-law recently introduced us to Aladdin's Eatery, a Lebanese-American restaurant located in North Hills, and I'm so glad she did. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated by the friendly staff. It was a quiet afternoon -- not too busy -- which made for a peaceful, intimate lunch experience. A few guests were dining both inside and on the patio, and the overall ambiance felt cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal. I ordered the "Flavor Savor Special", which features both Chicken Mishwi and Beef Kafta. The dish came beautifully plated with basmati rice, mixed greens, hummus, and falafel. While everything on my plate was good, I found the beef kafta to be a bit too salty and had a slightly rubbery texture when cutting into it with a knife and fork. That said, the falafel was a standout! It was crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, not greasy at all, and had a delicious flavor that really impressed me. Honestly, words don't do it justice -- you just have to try it yourself. I got so immersed in my food that I completely forgot what my husband and sister-in-law ordered. Luckily, I managed to snap a photo of my husband's plate, which looked like a Lebanese-style pizza -- definitely something I'd try next time. The decor is simple but eye-catching. I especially liked the small lamps on the walls, which added a touch of charm and made for good conversation pieces. And as soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a tempting display of cakes, pies, and baklava. I highly recommend the triple berry cheesecake -- easily one of the best I've ever had. Aladdin's is always a treat. Always. I've visited for solo meals and business lunches, for full plates and baklava. The staff is always so pleasant and welcoming, and the food is always delicious. The vibe is super relaxed. Even when it's busy the staff makes your visit very comfortable. The last time I visited I decided to go with Genie's Combo and the waitress could tell I was waffling with Jasmine's because I wanted the Jasmine's rice. She offered to substitute the Jasmine's rice, which was perfect for what I was looking for! The meal was great. I washed it down with a mint tea, and followed it with a piece of baklava for dessert! The only one critique I'll share, because I do have an opinion, is that the baklava that is served from the baked goods case has been consistently better than the pre packaged baklava that's for sale atop the case (in the basket). I tried the pre packaged one this past trip because the other want available. Even still, it was a nice treat with my tea. I love, love, love Aladdin's! Simply amazing! The foods are so flavorful and colorful, with so many options. I have visited many Aladdin's locations and every one, every time is great. First thing is first - the garlic sauce and the hot sauce. Buy it by the gallon if you can. Both are untouchable. Second - the pomegranate green tea. I am head over heels in love with this drink. I order one for my meal and make sure to top off before leaving. Next - appetizers. I always order the vegetarian combo which is an entire meal itself. Hummus, tabouli, baba gannouj, falafel, and dawali all make this plate the greatest way to start a meal. Also, the spicy cauliflower is a staple. Dip it in the garlic sauce and mmmmhmhmhmhm. As for entrees, the wraps/ rolls are a great go-to. I have had many of them and all were good. On my last visit I ordered the Mujadara plate which was lentils and rice. As we reviewed the quite extensive menu, it was obvious this was not going to be an easy decision. I proceeded to order the Chicken Shawarma and my wife ordered the Taza Chicken Salad. Delicious! The chicken was so tender and flavorful, and the ingredients so fresh, it was just a great eating experience. A guy walked by my table 4xs taking food to other tables. i never got a water refill, never asked how's your food, can I get you anything? Everyone so busy cleaning no one was servicing customers. It is the first time in my life I didn't leave a tip. all they did was bring food to my table-CFA does same thing I don't tip them. Great Mediterranean food at the North Hills of this mostly Ohio-based franchise that's branching out into NC. Table service is featured at this store-front shop tucked away on the side of of the Lassiter District center. There are about 20 tables. Decor is Mediterranean-style. Our server, Lydia, did a great job. Helped explain the menu, was friendly and attentive. The food was served as ordered, including a special request from the kitchen. THANK YOU! We started with Hummus. A generous portion of creamy, garlicky chickpea puree, topped with olive oil. And some delicious quartered pita, served warm. A great start. For an entree, tried the Mediterranean lamb plate. And also a side of Mujadara. The lamb plate is a grilled kabob of 8 chunks of lamb cooked medium well. It's served with brown rice and vermicelli topped with pine nuts and slivered almonds. And garlic sauce for dipping. The lamb is perfect - tender, moist and flavorful; nicely seasoned. Rice has a slight cinnamon taste and is just the right consistency - not crunchy, not sticky. Yum! Mujadara is among my favorites and this did not disappoint. The kitchen was able to accommodate a side order instead of the full plate, albeit without the friend onions and salad toppings. Still, the lentils and brown rice are earthy, aromatic and a wonderful creamy texture. A great rendition. Many other items on the menu to try - will be back. read more

Aladdin's is my go-to spot for a casual lunch or gourmet, fresh takeout. I live about 5 mins away, and I've frequented this spot ever since moving to Raleigh. I can't say enough about the depth of their flavors and the quality of the food. One of my favorite bites in town is their beef kafta with hummus on pita bread. That's why I'd highly recommend the flavor savor special, where you get those three items ^ along with some sliced chicken thighs, cucumber & tomato salad, falafel and rice. It's enough food for a power lunch and a half. I'd also suggest the vegetarian combo or Genie's combo platter...both include 5 different menu items, and they're all heaters. Located at the end of the main road going into North Hills. There is plenty of parking nearby. This place is very tastefully decorated, very clean and has a menu that has something for everyone. I got the hummus with beef shwarma over it and loved it. It came with a good sized basket of warm pita bread too. They give you a platter of hummus with diced tomatoes, pine nuts and the meat on top. All of it was so good, but I just could not eat it all. I took the leftovers home and ate it two more times! Very nice place, would be good for a meeting or date. First, the sprite drinks tasted like metal and even had what looked like a brown curled up worm that we got the waitress to replace. We thought the food would look as it did on their website, but it looks like a worse version of it. The rolls had little to no veggies. The grilled chicken was dry and burnt. The beef pitza was dry as well and barely had any toppings, unlike the picture. The kabob was still pinkish and had that signature meaty smell of undercooked ground beef. Waste of money. I saw a bunch of reviews for this place but this salad caught my attention and I really wanted to try it. When I came in, I was greeted promptly and my order was taken promptly as well. The ambience is a nice atmosphere. it was very elegant but also felt very much like home. As I was waiting for the food, a table of ladies behind me got up and said thank you and proceeded to tell them how delicious the food was and I couldn't help thinking wait I wanna order what they ordered but I did not give in to my intrusive thoughts. The cranberry walnut salad came out shortly after that and I'm so glad I didn't change my order. It was also delicious lol. The Rasberry tea went very well with the salad too. After I was finished eating my server (which was very attentive and very sweet) asked if I would like any dessert. I didn't remember what was on the menu so I asked her what kind of desserts do they have. Guys, she listed every dessert on the menu (which is a lot) from memory. So, I couldn't back down now. The group of us ordered a couple chicken curry pitza's (the best thing we ordered), a farrouks falafel pitza (good), and a chicken curry rolled (very good). A bit pricey, but the food was good. Even though we did takeout, they do have a very nice little courtyard area out front, which looks to be pretty shaded by trees. Wouldn't mind going back and eating onsite some day. read more
